Tamnak Thai is stuck in the late 80's when it comes to decor and seem to have used the same book as the Oh! Calcutta folks.
The ambiance is not much to speak off however the food is not too bad. Need to try out the menu a few times here and there but the place has some potential for sure.
Pricing is also reasonable.

I have been very fond of Thai food and have relished the cuisine at all the authentic Thai restaurants across the globe, although have not come across a truly authentic Thai restaurant in Bombay.
Location -Tamnak Thai is located at Shivaji Park, close to office and i have passed this place a zillions time with the desire to try out some authentic Thai food. Finally one Friday afternoon i managed to con my 2 collegeous and friends to try out some Thai food and we went for lunch
Ambience- The Ambience of this place is nice, it reminds me of china garden. The irony of the situation was, when i saw a nice big ganpati moorti placed at the entrance and the liquor trolley placed right in front of the moorti, which looked like the liquor was being offered to god.
Food- For starters we ordered spinach wraps, which were dip fried. They tasted all right but there wasn’t anything thai about it.
Pad- Thai was good but the Thai curry wasn’t any great shakes and nore the chicken rice that my friends ordered
All in the all was lighter by a couple of rupees from the wallet but still leaving my quest for authentic Thai food behind. Would never go this place again
Price- This i place is slightly on the expensive side

I am sure everyone travelling through Shivaji Park must have noticed this place- I certainly have, ever since its opened but don't know why i didn't bother trying out inspite of being a Thai food junkie.
Last weekend, I finally tried it out on a friends recommendation- who is a regular here. It looks much more contemporary and minimal from the outside but it is quite luxurious in terms of the decor and seating- nice comfortable, almost victorian chairs.
My friend did mention that you will get pretty much any imported alchohol here. But what was nice to see was that as soon as we got seated. The waiter came in with a really fancy wooden trolley with all the possible liquor that you can imagine. Their collection of whiskies did impress me for sure.
So it was Famous Grouse on the rocks for me, others ordered a Jack Daniels, Rusty Nails, Magarita, a Long Island Ice Tea and a Maibu on the rocks. The cocktails were really good, so I decided to shift to Rusty Nail after my first drink - I enjoyed that one thoroughly.
Now for the food - I loved all the seafood preparations, they turned out to be much better than the chicken preparations we ordered. I totally pigged out on the prawns and the squids.
Good food, Stiff Drinks coupled with a non-pretentious, humble staff made the evening really special.
Highly recommended for seafood & a quality experience.
