It's Mai Be, btw.
If any of my friends knew I am actually reviewing this place, I'd have none left. Mae B used to be one of those great places where you go, when you're poor and step out feeling full and refreshingly surprised. This was about, 2 years back.
Then, the owner got sick of our happy, shiny faces and 'renovated' the place (looks the same to me, honestly), but, yes. The chicken paprika sandwich shot into the 3 digit price range. So, I tried to 'economise' (read- be cheap) and stick to the iced teas, and lime waters for meals. Then, those shot into the 50 rupees range, as well. (i might be off, here. the last three times i was there, i just walked off. fled without paying, to be more precise)
I am a sucker for a good chicken stroganoff, and I'll admit that this place has a decent one. But. More than once, the waiter, and owner tried to pass off some cold, and suspicious looking meat as chicken.
I will not eat, what looks like badly cooked dog meat just because it's referred to, as chicken.
I didn't pay for that burger, btw. Now, all my friends' food almost always taste like spit! XD
The point being. Mae B (refer to the title) used to be a nice little hangout place for the broke, college kids we used to be. And, good food somehow tastes better when it's cheap. Now, the food's okay. The prices- not worth it.
Also. The waiters almost always look happy. And that, almost alway scares me.

Quick conti meal
Been to this place last evening after reading about it on burrp.Small place at carters. With jazzy boards on either side of this joint, this place looks dull.Luckily it wasnt crowded, so pleasant.
It has a vast menu to choose from.Priced well too. I ordered grilled chicken mexian salad. Qty was gud, tasted pretty well, probably better if it was cool.
Next was spicy tangy chicken wings, i was expecting wings but gt drumsticks.I mus say it was yummy, tangy n spicy.
For the main course I ordered chicken paprika which comes along with potato mash & veggies.It was not spicy as the name suggests.
Also tried the grilled steak in BBQ sauce. Its good provided the meat would have been more tender n juicy. The sauce is not the original BBQ but homemade version, thts different.
Overall foods not heavy,pretty yummy. They should improve on d veggies, which were lymph, not saute well.
Washed all this with a glass of lemon blast which was different, but not gr888 types. It tastes like limbu pani with a fizz.
well they dont have deserts, but i guess they have caramel custard,thts wht the poster says.
Service was fast. This place does get noisy n hot whn crowds pull in.It jus has a single fan & no AC, it feels restless after some point of time.Seating is not comfortable,wooden benches n no back rest. Ya but if ur lucky u can rest ur back on the other person sitting behind you. Music was diifferent, blarring horns from speeding cars on carter road that the FM could hardly be heard.
Ya but like real foodie, its d food tht matters so rest is adjustment.

Definitely the Best!!!!
This is a small cute little eatery with about 8 tables but absolutely mind blowing food.
I am a die hard steak lover with BBQ sauce and no one makes it better than these guys. They serve a homemade BBQ sauce which actually feels authentic and homemade. On the side one gets sauted veggies done to perfection and fluffy mashed potatos. Their oriental spicy herb chicken is just superb. THey have a fairly good list of non-alcoholc drinks.
The service is friendly and attentve. Food presentation is good and the outlet is simple but cute. There is a surprise for pet lovers. If your pet is friendly and can fit under the tabel (which are tall as my Lab could fit under it), you can take it and sit at one of the outdoor tables.
Its one of the best eating joints that mumbai has to offer.

The Best Continental Food !!!!!
Ah now Mae Be is small restaurant at Carter Road .. but the food there is just awesome. Love the Paprika Chicken & the Chicken Stroganoff, every dish comes with a portion of rice or salad& mashed potatoes (You Pick), one can also try the pro health grilled chicken an absolute delight! The Iced Teas they serve go very well with all their food. The garlic bread is yummy , the food served piping hot , the flavours just right.... value for money ---i'd give it a ten on ten ! Oh not to forget they also serve yummy pastas and this is one place where even the vegetarians have an assortment of dishes to choose from.
Though they don't deliver & if they do it takes a while , it's all completely worth it. The downside being they dont serve dessert but after u eat their meal you won't complain much & Baskins is next door ..!
This one is a must try ..Bon Appetite ;)!
