Lord O! Lord

Everything has been said about this place.

Go in a suit, speak in english with a brit accent, throw in lots of attitude eat & leave.

BTW do not laugh if they do not understand your english, because some of the boys can only do ya, no, that bugger, this bugger, every bugger.

Hey! Lords

This place needs no introduction. And the owner knows it very well and so do the waiters.
The place reeks of the owners arrogance which is reflected in the waiters attitude. (I haven't met or even seen the owner).
When a restaurant has waiters as old as the place then the arrogance shows. No doubt they are so well experienced that they may be able to make out how much a tables bill will be and how much they will tip. But that does not give them the freedom to behave in a way that they make the customers feel uncomfortable.
I think if they read this, they will understand and change their attitude.
The food is not so great either. The continental food is absolutely bland and their white sauce needs drastic change. My Marwari cook at home prepares it 10 times better than at Gaylords.
A restaurant like gaylords which is a landmark in itself and will keep on doing well because of their location, should not take things for granted as the mightiest also fall with time, if things and attitude remain the same.
I used to frequent Gaylords once if not twice a month at least and bring all my outstation guests here. but no more since the last 2 years it has been diminishing from my FAV list. I hope the standard is brought back to the older times.
And oh! i forgot to mention the guy in the Bakery counter really behaves like a LORD HEY! LORD!

Nice food but not worth the experience!

I totally agree with Shail. I went to Gaylord on the recommendation of a friend; and it was conveniently close to Churchgate station, but I don't think I'll go there again! The waiters are really rude and make you wait forever and ever. They specially don't like serving students, even ones who look rich! I noticed that service is really prompt for foreign tourists, though! I don't think I'll go there again.

If u wanna show your kids what racism is

If you walk into Gaylord at Churchgate in casuals or if you get off a cab or by any way show that you are not very extremely rich, you'll get to experience racism. The only people who get good treatment there are either white skinned or get out of a Merc. But on the other hand the bakery is priety good.Chicken plait and Cream eclairs are the best.
