return trip, still good

We were on our way to Sammy Sosa, but by the time we hit the airport, we were way too hungry and headed to the ITC.

Dum Pukt tries to recreate an older royal dining room and succeeds for the most part, except for an ugly stained glass wall on one side.

The menu has changed a fair bit as well, we started with the Bukhara Aloo Salan, which was soft potato, in a hot gravy, succulent and very tasty.

The Naan was a whole weat naan, fairly hard very different. The wife got some ridiculous paratha.

The Dal Bukhara was off menu and was a lot better than the one i had at Peshawari (which is 30 feet away) the week before.

The subz Biryani was just not very biryanisesue but was served with a delightful raita.

the kulfi was excellent, i never get dessert at Indian

restaurants but this was truly excellent.

also had an ok glass of chaas and a decent glass of wine.

Overall, the ambiance is pretty good and it works as the fine dining joint but the service though quick is not exactly equal to the prices they charge.

The pricing wow, its expensive, dinner for two with no appetizers and one glass of wine came to 4000.

pricey

I went here with a guest who was vegetarian and so I gave him company. The place is nice. It's got nice ambience but I feel the service could have been much classier.

To start off - while waiting for our food, they served us sliced fresh red onions very similar to what you would get served in your neighborhood RKs or some similar joint. Accompanied by papad rolls.

The menu is limited though whatever we ordered was excellent. Our bill came out to about 2500 bucks for 2 people without any drinks. On the whole while walking out I did feel they could have made this a much nicer place by adding a few classy touches.

Rocking!!!!

WOW!
i mean this place has got it going on.
Rest : Dum Pukth
Meal : Dinner
Date : 17/9/2006
Location :ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton, Airport Road
Company : Pie

Experience - classy decor, very comfortable seating. emptyish however. the whole hotel itself seems like it is not maintained very well.
not a hot shot place not entirely run down. more like its on the way down. we were actually trying to get to Bandra to go to Papa Panchos but Bandra Fair traffic was murder and we ended up here.

Drink : Thandai

Food : We ordered the thandai for a drink it was excellent. We opted to avoid appetizers and soups and go straight to the food. So we got the paneer in tomato gravy, excellent, succulent paneer, lightish gravy. great taste.
The Dal Makhani, again, excellent, distincitve taste, well done. The Naan, which was ok (no one makes the Naan like Masala Kraft at Taj) then the Biryani, which was average (ive had better at Shamiana and Palms) with garlic raita. Overall the meal was good but short of excellent. Service was top notch.

I would recommend this place for anyone in the neighbourhood looking for a good Indian/Dum Pukth meal.
