Not a great Place

I thought of taking my employees to MainLand China and had heard about this place from a long time. Food was not great and not up to the mark. This place was not worth by their tag price. Their Dimsum was also not so great nor their soups.......

Only thing which I liked was Sizzling Brownie but Chinese was not at all yummy.

A complete let down

I have always been an avid fan of Mainland China until i started visiting this Andheri outlet. If I keep aside the food (which is outstanding and makes me go back to the restaurant) this particular outlet is a complete disgrace to the chain. The service is pathetic, disarrayed and so painful that the joy of dining such delightful food goes away. Even worst, the restaurant swarms with service staff running in all possible directions - completely contrary to the basics of a fine-dining restaurant. You will at times feel you are sitting in a sophiscated Udipi restaurant. During my last visit, I had left my comments which attempted to highlight the deficiencies. Non-receipt of any acknowledgement from the chain has 2 logical inferences, either the comments card was suppressed and did not reach the intended recipients or the chain does not have a process of noticing an attrition and pre-empt the same. There is so much of inconsistency between 2 outlets in the same city! Overall, I am disappointed. Feedback on the "Comments Form" in their website - 1. Can the customer not be anything but "Clerk" (!!), "Manager", "Sales Executive", "Director", "Managing Director" and "Chairman"? Did someone even apply his/her mind while creating these values? 2. Their customer, as it appears to me, cannot be born before 1970 or his spouse be born before 1980!! Looks like the content or the tabs did even go through some basic sanity check!
Anyways, time to move on and try my luck with the Aromas and Gates of China!

great chinese food!!!!!

This place rocks!!!!! Since it is close to my work place have been there many a times. Though not authentic chinese food (do we actually like it???) its the best your palette can have. I recommend their lunch buffet. Priced somewhere between 325/- - 350/- on weekdays and around 425-450/- on weekends. But its VFM. The choice in both Veg. & Non-Veg is extensive. You can find crabs, prawns, fish, chicken, lamb in the main course. Also the starters are fairly good. Dim-sums are a must try!!! They also serve Satay with peanut sauce. Rice and Noodles (especially butter-chilli noodles is the best to go with your main course). Desert section also has lots of choice. I like the fried noodles with vanilla ice-cream. Also try the different kinds of cakes they offer. The staff is kind of mixed. Some are arrogant but some of them are really very polite and pay you attention. Best part is they serve starters and soup on the table. Highly recommended for Chinese lovers!!!!!!!! Have a blast!!!!!!!

Excellent Chinese food!

I had been to the Mainland China restaurant in Andheri (East) earlier and had come out less than impressed, but the one on Andheri (West) is much much better…Been there twice - once for dinner on a weekend night and once for the Sunday lunch buffet...

Expectedly, the waiting time for dinner on weekend was really high, but the food and ambience were totally worth it…The place is pretty big and the tables are not crowded together, giving enough privacy…As for the food, almost everything was really good…The steamed momos are mouthwatering...I also strongly recommend another of their starters made of american corn fried in batter - very tasty...Chinese starters of course go really well with drinks and they have a couple of interesting cocktails to try…

If the a la carte dinner was impressive, the lunch buffet was something else altogether...The soup and starters were good as usual...The choice in main course was just too much! Apart from the fried rice and noodles (one each for veg and non-veg), there were eight types of main course dishes - veg and non-veg each! And most of them were pretty good...The dessert spread was decent with the perfunctory honey fried noodles thrown in...In any case we were too full with the food, to try out too many of the desserts...

As for price, the dinner was quite expensive (6500 bucks for 5 with drinks), while the lunch buffet was good value for money (around 500 bucks each)… All in all, one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited in a long time and irrespective of the price, it’s a place I plan to visit often…
