Come here for the flavors ...

There are a lot of joints around town which serve 'North Indian' food - which invariably means Punjabi. So much so, that most of the items on the menu are generic items which you must have seen at a lot of places around the city
However, its the flavoring which sets this place apart. Each item has one dominant flavor in the food, and is refreshingly different from the other 'north indian' joints. For example, the achari paneer tikka has a strong lemon taste apart from the achar taste, which sets it apart and makes it ... well, delicious !!!
Similarly, one of the chicken starters, forgot the exact name, had a strong garlic flavor (probably not everyone appreciates that) but it made the dish so much more interesting and definitely yummy.
However, only the food earns this place a 4 out of 5 - otherwise, it is a little too crowded for liking!! Tables are right next to each other and there is hardly any walking space available. Private conversation is impossible.
Booze is quite costly here and there are just FOUR tables in the A/C section compared to some 24 outside. So unless you are there during the somewhat comfortable winter months, be prepared to sweat away throughout your dinner ...
Also, there is usually a huge rush on weekends as big families turn up and waiting can extend to an hour.

Inspite of so many negatives, I'm still giving it a 4 - just because each and every item that we ordered was so darn good !! So if you are looking for some excellent punjabi fare, try it out and you wouldnt be disappointed.

Changa Changa Khana

This Punjabi place is full of Punjabi environment with staff greeting and welcoming us in Punjabi language. The starters of alloo and corn were not that great but the main course(dal makhani and dhaba special kofta with lachha paratha)was delicious. The service was not that great. Overall it was a good experience of having a Punjabi dinner with the family after a very long time.

Finger Licking Food

Hunt for an Authentic Punjabi Food finally came to an end after having dinner here. Went to this place on Saturday night and luckily we got seats. They tried to represent themselves look like a Dhabha but its not up to the mark. Menu is in the shape of a Hand Fan with limited options.
Talking about food we started with Bharwan Aloo, Dahi Bhalla and Corn seekh kabab and in the main course we ordered Daal Makhan Wala (Daal Makhni) and Kofta - Partap's Special (as written in the Menu) and in Chapatis we ordered Pudina Parantha, Missi Roti and Tandoori Roti.
Food is really tasty and finger-licking. Damage to wallet for 5 people is Rs.1300/- without drinks. I will definitely go to this place next time.

Food is good.... valet is pathetic

Arrived at the restaurant and the valet instructed me to park the car ahead even before my friends could get off. Rather than taking the car themselves they directed me what to do.

Then go a table inside "air conditioned area", the ceiling was leaking all the while. Waiters could not do much but sympathize.

Food was prompt to come and good to taste. That was the only high point.

The bill came before the finger bowls and we were expected to share one finger bowl between 4 people.

So if you wanna go there better be the only place left in mumbai to go and would suggest taking an auto.

Legit Punjabi food...a hard find!

Great Punjabi food at great prices...bad valet though!

The ambiance needs a lot of work, I mean they tried to represent a true Dhaba but it shouldnt be at the cost of my comfort. Anyway, the food was great, absolutely flawless punjabi food with fresh breads. We also ordered the Jalebi's at the end, and I have to say that these were the best Jalebi's I have ever had, they are thin, crispy, hot, and not that sweet, just perfect.

The valet took about half hour to get our car so that ruined the entire experience, but I would definitely recommend this place for the food. Get it delivered if you have to!
