Only a blind can rate 8 or even 7 to Hot Plate. I am going to this place since i was a kid. Believe me they have NOT renovated this place from past 15 years. The place looks like it will fall apart. Sooooo untidy. The plates are so small.
Now the good part is the food is great, the price is great too. HotPlate has the best sambar i have ever eaten, and its kinda unlimited. It was the most happening place till the late 90s. Now i go there to feel nostalgic. but ya....i do recomend hot plate

The food at Hot Plate is very good for the price you pay. I would recommend the Channa Masala which are tasty. And the Dosa's are great and a rare dish to get at home. I would say the Rajma Chawal could be better and like I've said before, "my mom makes better rajma chawal".
The service was good which adds a couple of points to the entire joint.

This was one of the first fast food (as compared to Udupi) joints to open in Mulund. Being close to where we used to stay, we used to frequent this place regularly. It was also one of the few places where we could hang out with our college gang.
While the management of the place seems to have changed since those days, the food is quite good. They have an interesting menu - I strongly recommend the Pav Bhaji Dosa! They also have good value for money Rajma Chawal and Channa Masala Chawal - good alternatives when you don't feel like a full fledged meal.
The place is quite small, with additional space in the porch. Service is acceptable, and the pricing is quite reasonable.
