Horrible Indian-Chinese

Want to check out what Indian-Chinese tastes like, visit Dynasty. I ate once, and can never get myself to go there again. I am surprised by the crowds that throng the place, and pity them for never realising that what Dynasty dishes out is NOT Chinese, but the conconction that is known in India as Chinese. Can we not coin a new name for this 'cuisine', and not insult genuine Chinese cuisine, which can be exquisite? We Indians need to train and broaden our palates, and learn to appreciate cuisines as they are supposed to be, and not as we make them to be...a mara-mari of overpowering flavours.

Most Amazing Chinese in Suburbs!

Over the years, I have had a good and bad experiences with Dynasty, but the last 1 year has been amazing!!!

Dynasty - located on S V Road Santacruz, near Yoko Sizzlers is a relatively small restaurant serving Chinese food which is better than Aromas of China, Mainland China and even China Garden.

Mind you, only the food is great - not the ambience or setting...It's a little cramped but if you get a table on the immediate right hand corner - you can be assured of comfortable experience.

Try the Dynasty Special Fried Rice - which has mushrooms and a few pieces of pineapple (with chicken or sea-food or vegetables)...It's got a great flavor (not too sweet) with the pineapple comlimenting the spicy schezwan prawns or chicken.

The hot & sour soup is great and so are some of the chicken dishes. The best thing about Dynasty is that they customize the food according to your palate - is less oily and greasy compared to the other Chinese restaurants and has great flavour - whether it is black bean sauce or schezwan or garlic-chilly combination...

The lemon ice tea is better than most other restaurants!
They dont serve liquor but i think they have some mocktails and desserts...

I have taken a lot of guests to Dynasty (Indians & foreigners) and everyone has had a great experience!
The service is quick, instant and helpful!

Only drawback, the seating is a bit cramped and not too comfortable.. But the food does make up for all this!
Best thing about Dynasty are the portions.. They are wickedly huge!!!

The fried rice is enough for 2-3 people, so are the noodles and starters...Soups can be shared 1 by 2 comfortably too!

Cheers,

CHINESE murder

Dynasty- I have seen this restaurant for years now, but thankfully had never ventured in to eat or would have definitely stopped eating Chinese long back.Personally I am not fond of Chinese food, especially Indian Chinese but in my sleepy state of mind,I agreed to accompany my friends at any damn restaurant they wanted to go.

Ambiance – The ambience is not fancy, very cramped and blaring AC, can already turn you off.

Food- We ordered some veg crispies, jumbo prawns, wantons and some schezwan triple rice noodles.Veg crispies was ok, but nothing exotic about it.Wantons. When I ordered wantons the steamed variety, I had envisaged it to be a small steamed dumpling filled with some vegetables, something that looks like small money bag filled with stuffings inside, what we got is something that looked like Oversized flat noodles with some mixture in it. When I asked the waiter, he conveniently explained to me that this is exactly the way wantons are made. The dish Triple schezwan rice noodles, seemed like something prepared after mixing all the leftovers, and it was very sour. After eating at this restaurant I don’t want to ever eat Chinese. I went home and brushed my teeth, to get out this bad taste, but even now( morning) I feel sick of having eaten that food.

Why would you go there- If you are someone who likes to eat Indian Chinese street food and are looking at eating in a good air-conditioned ambience come here ,or if you are a connoisseur of authentic Chinese food and want to stop eating Chinese then this is the place to be
