I have always been a fan of Pan Asian, having lunched there quite a few times.Inspired by Saffron trails review the wife and i trekked up.
Usually the place has been fairly empty every time i have been in.
However anyone planning on going for the Sunday Brunch should get a table, by 1.30 they pretty much have a packed house.
The spread is extensive, we started with some sushi (carrot, cucumber) both tasted refreshing but we avoided the soup
The dim sum (carrot & corn) were pretty weak and didn't seem to be prepared as well as they should have been.
The entrees on offer were Thai Green Curry (excellent) the garlic greens (all right) teriyaki potato's (fantastic) there was mushrooms and corn in a hot sauce as well.
My grip being only one Noodle & Rice on offer, they could have doubled up on those and offer regular rice for the curry.
Dessert was fairly extensive as well with about 7-8 options.
The food overall was good, no complaints however it seems to cater to the lowest common denominator of the visitors (don't blame them)
i wish there was a bit more inclusion from Thai and Malaysian and not keep it so Japanese & Chinese heavy.
The ambiance of the place when its full is pretty vibrant and the service is pretty typical of ITC that i have experienced, friendly, quick, eager to please.
The best thing about the place is the drinks. I haven't had cocktails this good anywhere in the city (or in most cities) Mojito was sublime, bloody mary was on the money and then i asked them to make me Bellinis they complied pretty quick.
Damage : 3100 for 2 (drinks included in the brunch)

We had been to Pan Asian for a Sunday Brunch over a year and a half ago, and we decided to revisit the place yesterday to fulfill our cravings for good food from the far east. Besides we were catching up with another couple, and this seemed to be a relaxed way to spend the afternoon amidst a good ambience and better food - and boy, 3 hours flew past us.
Here's an account of the food (mainly the vegetarian part of it).
The brunch on Sundays includes unlimited booze (Indian wines, white rum, whiskey, vodka, Kingfisher beer and cosmopolitan, caprioshka, mojito, bloody mary etc among the cocktails) which according to me is a fairly decent spread of choice.
We ordered a beer, a cosmo, caprioshka and a bloody mary to start with. My cosmo was well made but considering how long it took to make an appearance on the table, I decided to stick to white wine.
Among the starters, there were 3 salads each in the vegetarian and meat section - along with a couple of vegetarian maki rolls (asparagus and carrot) in the sushi platter. I loved the vegetarian sushi and especially after they were dipped in a special sauce made by the husband (4 balls of wasabi dissolved in some soy sauce; reduce the wasabi for the faint-hearted). There was a good spread of eel, salmon and more fish for the fish lovers.
I remember my favourite from last time, and promptly went on to the steamer section, where there was a carrot dimsum and a corn dimsum for the vegetarians, with chicken sticky rice balls and pork dimsums on the non vegetarian side.
Hot and sour soup was bubbling away in the corner. The main course had a selection of garlicky greens, teriyaki baby potatoes, baby corn mushroom stir fried with hakka noodles.
I finished off the main course with a tiny portion of fried rice drenched in Thai green curry, which had the right note of spicines.
For meat lovers, there is a live teppanyaki grill where you can sit on the counters and enjoy your favourite cuts hot off the grills.
From the desserts- we loved the tarts and a pudding whose name I cannot recollect as the wine had started having its effect by then. There was also a selection of fruits (goes without saying), sticky date cake and the ubiquitous honeyed noodles.
Overall, we spent over 3 hours chatting away over food and drinks. Around 4.15 pm it did feel as though they had turned down the air conditioners. When we asked them, they said the AC was on, but the exhaust wasn't working right, so we were feeling the heat from the open kitchens. Anyway, there's not much to complain. The place was quite full and we were one of the last few to leave I guess.
I do humbly suggest that you don't take too much advantage of the free flowing booze so that you can enjoy the wonderful food. Also I am glad to report that the quality of buffet and service has been kept up even after a year. We would also recommend that you reserve seating in advance, at least on the Saturday or so, if you are planning a Sunday brunch.
Damages: Rs.1250 exclusive of taxes per person and including unlimited booze.

Being in the area we trekked up to ITC for a meal and were turned away at Dakshin because they were having a private luncheon. was 2.30 and the last seating was done. however we spoke to the manager and they seated as long as would could put in the entire order at once.
we ordered the tom yum soup, the cottage cheese and mushroom steamed dim sum, pad thai noodles with peanuts and veggies bobago sauce.
the food was excellent! the tom yum was better yet, with no overpowering tastes but balance. the dim sum was light and melt in your mouth, went great with soya sauce and garlic sauce.
the noodles themselves were light and tasteful, the veggies were out of this world, very tasty.
the meal was great, the service was prompt and its unfortunate that the restaurant is so far from the city.
now the only gripe would be the price, 2100 INR for two without any drinks. mamma mia!
