Just Superb Indian Food

Hiiiiiii......its mickey again..

Well on last week end we finally went to Sahara Star...-we tried the rest-namak.

Firstly a tasty welcome drink..lemon juice & pudina...too gud

Really tastyyyyy food....that I have ever eaten anywhere..10 out of 5

People talk about cost but I'll say anything good will not come cheap..
n more over the quanity for that price is too much..infact we had naan (tasty)& chicken tikka masala.(sintalatting)....wow big & soft pieces of chicken...hmmmmm yummss... we wanted to try even their dal..but we were too full...u can image the quantity (for 2)

Then we called for gulab jamun......hmmmmmmmmmm yumms it was...with badam & pistas.....made in pure ghee........hmmmmmm

This is the only 5-star restaurant where u can eat with your hand no fork & spoon provided to u...but if u request they'll provide..
new style even for washing ur hand on table..

Good ambience....for the whole of the 5-star....amazing place...every corner is beautiful

n if u r lucky like us then u get to meet the man himself Mr. Subrato Roy....wow

will visit Namak again n again for sure..n also many more rest, lounge etc..to explore their.................................

but this time i'll thank my better half for treating me at this scintillating place on a very special day...my birthday...

thank u sweets....love u

Good Indian food.

I went to Sahara Star for a family dinner - 5 people on Saturday night. We checked all the restaurants there and finally entered Namak.

The place was nice with different sitting and the plates were made up of some different material. The menu is a bit small with less variety if you a vegetarian.

We had a couple of drinks then hit the main course with 2 curries and naan. The panner tikka masala they made though not in menu was very tasty. The quantity was good as per 5 star standards. The Dal Makhani was cooked with perfection, dont miss it. We even ordered the veg biryani and the aroma of saffron was awesome.

On the whole a preety good and quite filling dinner but quite expensive.

A Namkeen Experience

How to get there:
Drive down towards the Domestic Airport and you will spot the Dome Shaped Sahara Star – Just go straight In.

Ambience:
The Ambience of this Place is simply fascinating. What makes it this way is that the entire Hotel – Sahara Star has a spectacular Aura surrounding it.

Space and Place:
It tends to get a little crowded and noisy when the place is packed to capacity. Trust me, don’t walk in without a Booking – You could land up there at an odd hour on a weekday and be taken aback with the fact that people throng for this Place even though it is a Bit expensive.

What to Eat:
I have savoured their Non Veg and their Veg Cuisine. Dishes to try by Meat Eaters would be Chicken in any form – Yes, any form of Chicken will have it’s own lingering and strong masala effect drive your Taste Buds up the roof.

Veg Eaters can stick to the conventional Panner – Panner Zayka is good if you love strong flavours. Avoid the Roti and try the Nan instead – Stays soft for quite some time even after being served considering the Air-conditioning.

If you are someone who is a Rice Freak then call for a Hundi Biryani – It comes in a beautiful container. Do not walk away without having the Dal Makhani – Have the Dal with a Roti and not with Rice to enjoy the real Flavour.

I have not tried the Sweet Dishes but seeing the place I would suggest you avoid and Ice
Cream and try a Kulfi instead as the place is purely Indian.

Make sure to have a look at the Awesome Hotel and the other Restaurants before you leave after Dinner.

Service:
The Service is Ok and you would be Greeted in the Typical Sahara Style – Sahara Pranaam

What I Simply Love:
If i was to List down a few things I simply Love they would be:
1. Cutlery – The Plates and the Glass in which you would have your Meal are very Authentic and have a deep Rural Feel to it
2. The Waiter would ask you if you want to have your Meal by Hand or with a Fork and Spoon – They generally Coax you to have the meal with your Hands so you get a truly Indian and Rural experience but a Fork and Spoon is just a request away
3. The manner in which you can wash your Hands is like the Icing on the Cake – Worth it if you have Eaten with your Hands.

Cost:
A Non-Veg Meal for 2 – Rs. 1500 and a Veg Meal for 2 – Rs. 1200

All in All - A highly Namkeen Place.

too much tamasha

the whole place is like a toyland, with trees and vents that spout fire. Not sure what sort of a hotel it is aiming to be.

Anyway, the layout of the place is terrible, its one big circle and all the restaurants are laid out in different sections of this. a very generic sort of layout.

The food is top notch, the paneer makhani, the dal makhani, the allo achari were excellent. it is also cheaper than places like Saffron and Kebabs and Kurries.

Overall, the food is at par with the best. I didnt like the table service much however. The ambiance is below par.

Damage for 5 without drinks 3000
