I went to koyla's the last time when it was my friend's farewell. And to be very frank for 1st time i realised what actually koyla deals with.We were 6 people and waiting for more than one and half hour.Still. we didn't get the table. And over all this when we order sheesha the waiter forgot the order so it adds 45 minutes extra to our time. That day we got out of the restaurant at 12:15 am.And really it kept us in disappointment. And the we took the oath that we won't go again to this cheap place where the staff thinks that they are favoring customers. They should learn first thing that customer is king. And to be frank i'm not talking about ambience and food.I'm talking about everything. The manager is standing in white shirt and tie and thinks that he is the owner. There's no thing as hospitality. No smile on anyone's face.It sucks and really not worth spending your hard earned money. But still if you want to try you can and have a experience of bad taste.Good luck

Wow.... this place sucked big time when i went here like a year back....!!!
There were innumerable number of inscets on our table...
Food id not even give it one star...
i don't know about the non-veg my friends were eating but the veg...from the starters to the vegetable sucked...each of it...was worse than the other....!!!!
I had heard alot about this place.... but i think its just too over rated.... i dont think it even deserves a star...
but i think ill still give it a star for its roof-top location...which i like....
but apart from that ...its a total zero...!!!
Will i even give one more shot ever in life?... never !

I am from the UK and have been to India 4 times in the past 8 months. I have always been to Koyla every night I was in Mumbai.
I love shisha and the service and the quality of the shisha at Koyla is out of this world. Their setting is amazing. The service I recieved here was absolutely 5 star.
On returning to the UK, I have opened up my own shisha cafe, named Koyla, but nowhere as nice as this one.
If you come to Mumbai, you definitely need to come to Koyla and experience their shisha and food. Their chicken tikka was absolutely gorgeous!!

Just imagine music, cozy place and friends around and sitting on a building terrace having amazing good food and hookah. Thats how I would describe Koyla's. A nice place.

The food here is just above average and the service is a bit amateurish. Waiters are kind, but probably not experienced like you might expect a wait staff to be. The food is your traditional mughlai/north-western frontier fare, meaning very rich and heavy! The mushroom tikka was a great starter I must say - the dal makhani was as expected and the dum aaloo was just way too oily/rich/heavy for my taste.
The ambiance is what is special here - on the rooftop of the seedy Gulf Hotel, tables are set under canopies of clay - some of the larger tables have entire benches made out of the white mediterranean clay, which gives it more of a tropical look. I WISH this place served drinks, but unfortunately, all they have to offer are hookahs. Yech!
