On the lookout for a sumptuous meal last weekend, we stumbled upon this small place called Just Biryani. We were lucky we got a table for 2 as soon as we reached there.
My first impressions, very small, a little crowded, maybe a couple of waiters less but the place has a good ambiance nonetheless.
We were under the impression that this place would only serve biryani's or atleast give biryani's a more prominent place on the menu. The biryani's were listed on the last page which is alright if your not sitting in a restaurant which is called 'Just Biryani'.
Anyways, we quickly ordered our food, Dum Biryani and Reshmi Tikka Kabab. But before ordering, we had to call out quite a few times for someone to get us water and when someone did get water, they dropped it all over the table! What can I say? I was definately pissed but it didn't show on my face! I wonder how that waiter saw what was behind the mask!!
Moving on to the food, I just loved the biryani and the starter. Nice big strands of rice with quite a lot of meat in it. The big differentiating factor definately from the biryani I had here and other places was the gripping aroma. It not only tasted good but it smelt good as well. The chicken was tender as well.
With the food, we ordered ice tea where there was no hint of tea!! just a lot of sugar in there!! so we mixed 1 part ice tea with 2 part water and drank our very own home-made glucose syrup!!
Overall, the good is excellent, the drinks ah! less said the better and the service, though its with a smile, it still does need some tweaking!
On the pricing front, I think its a tad too expensive; we spent more than Rs.150 each between the two of us. But overall I`d say I would love to go there again just for the Biryani!

I'd have been to this joint innumerable times, and I am surprised why is it not on my list so far. Hence, AA presents to you the review of what is easily his favourite VFM joint in Mumbai.
I've been here over 20 times in the past one year, and whenever I feel like some good biryani, or a decent mughlai meal which does not pinch my pocket crazy, I head up here. the only complaint, the owner has never bothered to rehash is Menu and I kinda have to go for the same food everytime. Its a nice little cozy joint on the side of Oshiwara, and seating is usually not a problem here. They make my fresh lime the way I like it, and it is never flat, always bubbly!..
The murgh Dum biryani is spiced up just right for me and is a favorite. Also, of late, I've started to love one of their veg dishes which has corn in it. thats a USP I believe and I am kinda done to the eyeballs with the regular paneer veggies when you are out on a veg diet
overall, they have a decent fare, with some decent pricing. They also sell biryani by the KG, and the only time I called for it by the KG, I had enough of it, that 10 people ate and I still had to put in the fridge "lunch and dinner" for 2 people for 3 days!! Generous is the word
Get here sometime, and you'll hopefully enjoy the food :)

i recently visited this place. i loved their lucknow gost biryani. i would say this is one of the best place to have lucknow garana biryani in mumbai. i also liked the dhaba gost. decor of this place is kinda ok. but serving is not very impressive. but food is really good

Great VFM home delivery stuff by the kilo. Prompt service, a great boon for parties. However sometimes the kilo looks less & sometimes more. The answer by different people being '1kg of rice is used' & 'the entire biryani is 1kg'
With the others in the fray, they need to standardize! at least the answers

I don't have much to say about this place but having ordered Biryani in a large chunk of eating joints both in town and in the suburbs, have to agree that their Biryani was indeed really good.
I was only in the mood for Biryani and didn't get to try many other things here. I love mutton and their mutton hyderabadi dum biryani was fabulous. Even the dessert I ordered (Shahi Tukre) was quite good.
I saw that people have mixed opinions in previous reviews and just wanted to set the record straight by at least writing this useful bit of information if all that will satisfy you is "just biryani".
