3.5/5 for just the good food....!!

Poush happened to be a alternative for us. We had headed towards Myst nearby, but the queue seemed to be unending. With nobody having patience, we decided to try the Kashmiri palate!!

Poush, as other reviewers talked about gets its maximum points for the unique setting because of Shikaras.....! We chose the biggest one and we all sat comfortably.

The place doesn't serve liquor. We requested the manager to arrange some....to all our surprise, he readily agreed!!! Probably, he expected a low turn-around courtesy Ind-Aus match :) And wanted to make most from the customers who walked in.

The place doesn't play any music. So, the experience becomes very bland. One can expect good food and great service though. And the menu seems reasonably priced. Couple that with the savings we made on alcohol (we got all drinks at MRP!!!), it was a real value for money.

Recommended when you just want to grab some food. If you plan an evening out with friends over drinks, dinner and music, you may be in for a disappointment.

i beg to differ

well i went to this place with a friend of mine recently, while i was in mumbai, and he would kill me when he reads this review...

and its quite hard for me write an average review after 5 others have given it 5 stars each. however in all the reviews i noticed that everyone raved about the shikaras & the service. i'll give to you, the shikaras idea, awesome dude... the service and the mannerisms, really great .. but the food .. well it was at best ordinary kashmiri food. at least on the day i had them.

i am no food connoisseur, but i've had authentic kashmiri food twice in my life, both were in delhi haat , in a food festival (a kashmiri food festival), on two days in a row.

The gustabha and the dum aloo i had at Poush was nothing , when compared to what i had at delhi haat.

but then again, to be completely fair, the food was not bad. and the qawah was actually amazing. the total experience is worth it, you've got to go there and have your food in a shikara. (if you havent been or planning to go to kashmir) .. its a great experience altogether.

Gem of a place!

I had eaten here before but i really wanted to take my wife to this place, was confident she would absolutely love it! Last evening, luckily both of us were in Andheri for work so we decided to eat at Poush. We settled inside the shikara which is the best part of this place its so comfortable, you can stretch your legs till your food arrives.

We had a tough time deciding what to eat- coz everything on the menu looked amazing. The manager very patiently hung around helping us with the description of the various dishes. He recommended we go for the packaged meal, which was an assortment of various kashmiri dishes. Great decision coz we got to taste about 5 authentic kashmiri dishes - don't remember any of the names, though. The thali came with a starter, 3 meat preparations, a raita, a dessert, and Qawah (authentic kashmiri tea- this is just amazing totally refreshing). The dessert was the only downside of the meal, I am sure they didn't prepare it in house.

I recommend that you only have rice with any kashmiri food as its meant to be. It just doesn't go well with Indian bread.

All in all, a super experience- like every other reviewer i too give it full marks for the vibe, food and and an extra star for the most pleasant & friendly staff.

Qawah Anybody?

They have three or four real shikaras and the Kashmiri food here is awesome too. Though, this is actually a perfect place to go after dinner. As someone may have already mentioned in earlier reviews, Qawah is traditional Kashmiri Tea. Its nothing like our normal tea, and is made with zaffron, cardimom, almonds, etc.. .Have Qawah and shoofta for dessert. The portions are just right and the tea will actually help you get a good nights sleep.. :)

So next time u're out on a drive after dinner, stop by at Poush and check out how a tiny little restaurant gets a perfect 10 in food, ambience and service.

Where else can you find a Shikara in Mumbai

This place serves authentic Kashmiri food. It gets full points for service, food and the ambience. I mean, c'mon where else can you find a shikara in Mumbai and that too away from the noise and pollution? The atmosphere of this place is pure bliss. (see the photo slide show and you will know what I am talking about)

I was here a few days ago celebrating a friend's birthday. I don't quite remember the name of the thali I had, but do remember that I had shufta for dessert. It was served warm and had a ton of dry fruit pieces in a sugary syrup. It is a must-have.

Also, don't forget to have Kashmiri herbal tea called Qawah.

ps, I think I have a crush on the owner. He is too cute.
