Disappointed!!

I had heard a lot about this place & was keen on trying it out. Went for a family lunch yesterday. First of all, they should change the chair covers..they were dirty, ne ways...as we sat down and sipped water, we found it was stinking..the problem was the glasses were stinking...not expected in such a restaurant...We ordered Chicken Soup, Chicken Malai Kabab (scrumptious!!!) and Chelo Kabab for starters. Just as we were enjoyin our starters, my dad wanted the pickle they usually place it on the table.and gues wht..he found a FLY!!!!
And when we confronted the manager, HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO BELIEVE IT!!! and yes ...there were flies enjoying the ambience too...pathetic, the food was good no doubt (Had chicken bharta & Kadhai Chicken..both of them were good), but wud never visit again cos of the lack of courtesy. Service is ok. And yes......they love buttering foreigners. I overheard a waiter askin a foreigner "how is the chicken sir??" bulls***!! 67 years of independence and yet they butter them...I doubt if the same happens to us if visit abroad.. I seriously doubt....

Service 3.5/5
Food 3/5
Ambience 2/5

I think Bombay Blue is far better than this...

Food 4/5, Ambience 2/5, Service 3.5/5

Food: 4/5
Most restaurants struggle with the food - and these guys have the recipe to success. The bigger brother at Worli sets the benchmark for hardcore punjabi food in India and worldwide. The reason they don't get a perfect score in this category is because the Raan of Lamb I ordered was charred and tough, and the Paratha was not wheat but Maida. Chicken Makhani was splendido!! Absolutely perfect.

Ambience 2/5:
It's basic and that's it. Only reason it doesn't get a 1/5 is because of the open kitchen. But there's nothing else. However, in an effort to excite our dining experience, a rat ran across the restaurant while we were eating. But no points deducted here, every single restaurant i've come across has rats, because if a restaurant doesn't have rats, then something's gotta be really wrong with their food!! Watch Ratatouille.

Service 3.5/5
Lost a point here because the manager pretended there was no rat!! all the waiters were animatedly making efforts to catch the rodent, but the manager, in a effort to save face, claimed there was no rat. Other than that - no complaints with the service, which in itself is a compliment.

Point to note: They are charging a 5% inflation surcharge - which to me is something new - so, on top of their menu prices they charge you 5% more.

Bottom line - great food - decent prices. Perfect fix for that Makhani craving.

An enjoyable experience

Heard that Copper Chimney has an offer on the 26th of every month where they serve u certain dishes at their 1982 prices or something like that, so headed for dinner there with family .

We ordered 3 non veg kebabs which were priced at around Rs. 90 -95 out of which the Chelo kebabs were different and yum. We ordered a Chicken Roganjosh which was okay and a hariyali chicken which everyone liked. The main course was priced at around Rs. 100-110.

All in all the only things that stood out were the Chelo kebabs , Chicken Hariyali and the prices. The menu was limited (they have a seperate menu for the 1982 prices offer) but at the prices they were offering it was a good deal. So would recommend dining here when the offer's on and not otherwise.

Avoidable

Somewhat patronizing staff and overly forceful of their opinion on what you should have, giving the impression that they want to empty their leftovers. Food is ok. Overall, doesn't give a bang for your buck. Bombay Blues upstairs is a much better bet.

Bad service

had gone for dinner ,despite knowing it was going to be an expensive one .dont mind paying the high price for the food as we hardly have food outside.but the attitude of the host or the manager (whoever he is) has made up my mind never to go there again.the ac was at full blast (i was sitting opposite to it)& despite a request to the manager to turn it a bit down ,he refused saying that switch did not work. then a whole bunch of foreign crowd trooped in &ooh la,his behaviour totally changed including the accent. one of the foreigner asked him 2 turn down the ac & that **** turned it down!magic!the switch worked for a foreigner but not for an indian citizen.talk about racial discrimination in your own country!
