Fantastic experience

Been there on 10th of August, was a Sunday afternoon. Place was fully packed. Prior reservations a MUST. Once the table gets occupied - the diners tend to leave only at closing time i.e. 3.30 pm.

Tongue tickling, delectable kababs, fantastic variety and it just keeps coming. Mushrooms, Paneer, veggies, prawns, mutton, chicken, potatoes...all sizes and shapes but each one vying to be a favorite.

The main course buffet is good but who cares- after aving a fill of kebabs all one wants is some dal chawal or salad.

Definitely worth visiting frequently and vale for money

Exceptional...

Happen to visit this place after reading a lot about it on burrp...
Wasnt too sure how i would like this as i am not a big fan of barbeques....however i was in for a surprise & found this place to be exceptional.....

Ambiance: Nice but a little crowded even on a wednesday, prior reservation a must .....4/5

Food: Kebabs were amazing .....esp prawns, mushrooms, & oysters...hilafal was also damn neat.
Unlike many other reviewers i found the buffet maincourse(pasta & baked veg specifically) & deserts to be very good too. However i had stuffed myself with the kebabs & could not eat much....you have to have an empty stomach when you visit the place. ....5/5

Service: Very good, considering this place is always full. A very pleasant staff. ....5/5

Damage : 560 per head approx (incl taxes), Definitely VFM considering the location & the quality of food they serve...... 4/5

Word of advice
:1) prior reservations
2) empty stomachs

Self help is the best help....

And this typifies the unique concept at this restaurant - finish your kababs the way you like them, at your own pace. The grill placed at each table has been described enough by my fellow burrpers so I won't go there. What I will vouch for is that if you are a die-hard carnivore and can't get enough of meat on a stick, then you can't find a better place than this.

The equation's simple - 500 bucks and an empty stomach is all you need to bring along. No menu choices, specials of the day, or any other frills to distract you. The meat keeps coming...it just keeps coming till you scream "Stop!". The day we went, there was oyster fish, ajwaini prawns, mutton sheekh kabab, chicken tikka and one other chicken kabab. Veggies, don't get me wrong, there's a fairly decent selection for you too. Its just that I wasn't paying too much attention to it (the caramelized onions and mushrooms were very good though). Five non-veg and five veg starters later, there were very few people that I saw at the main course section. We could only manage desserts (quite good - brownies, date cake, gulab jamuns, ice-cream). Undoubtedly, the spotlight is firmly fixed on the grill.

The kababs are 90% cooked before they're brought to your table; all you are expected to do is finish the last 10%. Maybe because of that, the grill simply wasn't hot enough. I felt like I was only "pretending" to grill the food!

This is a very popular place so ensure you have reservations. In fact, its the only restaurant I've encountered in Mumbai which, when I once called on a Saturday afternoon, told me that they were not taking any more reservations as they were full! And I was calling for dinner reservations for later that day!

good concept

What i fell in love with is the concept of this restaurant. Every table has a barbecue rack where your food is barbecued to your preference.
They have fixed menu and the menu changes everyday.
I've been to this place a couple of times and i must admit at times they've had not so tempting items on their menu. Its a must-go for meat lovers.
Ideally, the fixed menu comprises of 5 veg starters and 5 non veg starters, 7-8 main course options and a couple of desserts. All this at Rs 400/- only ( unlimited refills of course)
the whole idea is to gorge on the barbecued starters and stuff yourself with it .. skip the main course as its nothing worth a mention.
As i said, they can have a not-so- great items on their menu.. It's a good idea to call them a day in advance and know about their menu so u can decide whether or not it appeals to you.
Oh and if you are a vegetarian, you can request for an extra vegetarian starter and they'll be obliged to serve you :)
Service is prompt

paisa vasool

Name/Location: Barbeque Nation , Bandra

Average Cost: 400 bucks a meal

Food: Barbeque Nation has a concept of a fixed menu. You cant order anything extra. They place a grille in the middle of your table and keep bringing you skewers with items from their fixed menu of the day. You cook the food yourself nd keep brushing it with the dressing of your choice. This is a great concept nd is pretty fun to do. I guess this concept also helps them to keep their costs down as customers cant order anything else. Its fun to do the cooking yourself the first few times though after tht when the novelty wears off you just wanna eat the damn kababs. The food is good though some kababs were better than the other. The starters are unlimited so it gives u a good chance to vasool ur 400 bucks. They change the menu everyday nd keep introducing new items onto the menu. The last time I went there I had some very good oriental prawns nd really filled myself up on them. The chicken however on that days wasnt tht good. I guess its all depends on your luck. A main course buffet is also included in the price which makes this place very good VFM. I however would suggest that you eat more of the starters than the main course. The maincourse is good too nd consists of the usual soup, two non veg, two veg, rice nd naans. Their desert is good too nd I guess it would be best if they concentrated more on their starters nd deserts as thats what would really be good. A drink is also included in the price. One thing that this place is really missing is hookahs. Nothign beats Kababs nd Hookah. its just a perfect cmobination. THey have an outdoor section where I think it would be perfect for them to introduce hookahs.

Service: The service here is excellent. You are served almost immidiently after you are ordered. I guess since theyre serving everyone the same thing there arent too many places where the service can go bad. However the waiters are very polite and explain what dressing to use on what meat very well.

Ambience: BBQ nation being a new place has a good ambience. Inspite of every table ahving a grill you never really feel hot or uncomfortable due to their excellent exhaust system. There is some outdoor seating as well though I guess sitting inside is much more comfortable

Conclusion: Even though this place costs a minimum of 400 bucks a person I tihnk this is the most vasool place you can go to. If you consider what your getting for 400, its just amazing. However having said that, even though the food is good its nothing amazing and there are places where you do get better food
