My conflict between good food and horrendous service not only re-affirmed, but achieved new lows when I re-visited Kareem's. It is indeed a commendable task, when over the last two years, this outlet of Kareem's has managed to live up to its being, i.e. they have not improved in the remotest areas of the hospitably sector.
Enter restaurant on a weeknight for what was not the most demanding of choices. We ordered a portion of the Nizami Kebabs (Rs. 120/-). 10 minutes later, with no sight of the kebabs, we order an additional chicken tandoori (Rs. 200/-) and butter rotis (Rs. 17/-) to round us off on the dinner. 20 minutes and frantic handwaving gestures later (considering that the stewards stand in a remote corner chatting up the chefs) in this open style kitchen-cum-dining area, no sight of nothing yet!! 30 minutes later, no sight of the Nizami kebab, but the tandoori checks in!!!...How? and Why? are not the remotest of questions that attract any answers. All appreciative instincts with respect to the good (sic) flavour and texture of the kebabs are sadly lost.
After venting the frustration from the ridiculous wait over the attending steward, one would assume that the person not show up at least till the bill is summoned. But this thick-skinned mammal makes his headway with a grin in the middle of the meal saying, 'kya sir, kaisa hai food?' We go, 'huh!!!????' Was this his way of bragging about the food?
Anyways, this measly meal cost us 100 minutes in total.
What is amusingly unusual about this restaurant is that I have had the 'exact' same experience the last 2 times I visited over the last 2 years. My bad, actually, for obviating the inputs from my own feedback mechanism and shamelessly marching into this boner of a restaurant. I wonder how their 'feedback' mechanism worked on the same policy of shamelessness as mine. Either they should have improved over the years or gone down the doldrums, but they are definitely here to stay.
We really have a resilient force (the diner who refuses to shun this restaurant as well as the server who refuses to improve on his skills) on either side of this restaurant, now!

I had ordered 2 plates Mutton biryani at home. It was very dry to eat. Also for 2 plates of biryani they gave 1 table spoon of salad. Will never order again any of its outlets.

Situated in a foudcourt setting, this place with a glass kitchen serves one of the best kali-mirchi ke kebabs in mumbai.
The menu is short and nice. Their tandoor based preperations are excellent and their rogan-josh is superb.
The prices are amazingly competitve for the quality of food that is served.
