There are sandwich-walas and then there are sandwich-walas. Sanjay sandwich falls in to the latter category.
Despite being a road side stall, enough can't be said about the all-round greatness of this place. Short of a vada pav, they offer pretty much all variations of the Bombay road-side veggie sandwiches you can imagine.
Their ingredients are fairly basic...tomatoes, onions, green peppers, beets and potatoes. Toss in the various preparation styles and condiments and your options are almost unlimited...toasted or untoasted, red chutney or green chutney or both, ketchup or pumpkin sauce, cheese or plain, etc. etc. etc...just think of the possibilities! Oh, and for the sweet toothed folks out there...he EVEN has a triple decker toasted jam concoction. I'm not much of a "dessert sandwich" type myself, but I've talked to those who are...and they rave about it.
The other area you simply cannot go wrong with Sanjay Sandwich is the price. Where in Bombay can you get a healthy lunch in less than 15 minutes and for less than 20 bucks?
The icing on the cake is the home delivery option (as long as it's within the specified timings) and the friendly service with a smile.
Me and the boys from work often pop down for an evening snack or a quick on the go lunch. If you live or work around Fort/Kala Ghoda, you'd be wise to try this place sometime - you honestly will not regret it.
