Booked a table for 8pm and at 8.16 I had a call from the head-waiter asking where we were... not a good start. But let's focus on the food. Ordered their signature ramen only to be told they were out of ramen. Out of ramen??? Really??? The noodle wallah is on strike or what??? My wife ordered a few sushis and they looked great but as she picked the most unchallenging 1s, it was hard to use that as benchmark. Next came my salad with squid tempura. I think I need divine intervention to get good hospitality at the Taj Palace restaurants.

Was there for lunch this afternoon to celebrate my kid's birthday. We had made reservations and given special instructions to the hostess Krutika, and Manager, Sukumar, to make a special arrangement on this occasion to celebrate the birthday. Can you think that a place like Wasabi would forget it - they actually FORGOT about the arrangement, until we reminded them when we were leaving. On top of that, the F&B Manager, Santosh, tried to cover up the goof-up by offering to pack a cake for us!!

Easily the best Japanese restaurant in Bombay; one of maybe a half dozen fine dining restaurants in the city that are on par with the very best fine dining restaurants in New York or Paris. Because so many of the ingredients are necessarily imported from Japan, the prices are like those in New York as well. Fair enough -- except that as it is housed in the Taj, you end up paying phenomenal taxes on top of the base bill -- something New Yorkers don't have to do -- which can be quite annoying.

Amazing Japanese food and the service is fantastic. However the price just keeps going up and up and now the problem is I like wasabi but I just don't care for Japanese food so much to pay those silly prices.
