Achija is a Kutchi word that is used when people part, not with a Good bye, but with the positive intent of meeting again. It literally translates to Come back soon. And indeed, this Achija at Ghatkopar has been welcoming customers so well now that it has transformed from a simple road side stall to a crowded restaurant. Pav Bhaji is what Achija has always been known for. It is nice no doubt, good quantity with masala onions and all, but somehow I always found it a bit over rated. They have sandwiches, pizzas, Chinese, dosas and the usual jazz which are just about average. Somehow, the pav bhaji's taste and flavors have always remained consistent as opposed to the other dishes. If today you find their sandwich wonderful, may be tomorrow you wont. The prices are quite steep for a roadside restaurant and not really worth it. My friend recently had their Chocolate Milk shake which was priced at a shocking Rs.170!! However, the crowds seem to love the place and the rush during weekends is to be seen to be believed. Since, they have another sitting area right across the road, it is a normal thing to see the staff moving around the place, using walkie talkies and discussing the availability of seats in either area, thus making sure that each empty seat is filled immediately. The main person managing the show is really polite and also quite well known amongst the regulars there. These guys sure have a lot of patience to manage the crazy hungry crowd, especially on weekends. Appreciate the efforts! Acchija has been every Ghatkoparians pride since years now and I believe that it is their welcoming attitude which makes its customers visit there again and again.
