I Brunch Zoe, very much.

I usually end up going to Zoe on Friday or Saturday nights for drinks but a while back some friends and I decided to go there for Brunch on a Sunday.
Now, Zoe looks completely different during the day. With plenty of sunlight gushing in and the smell of fresh brewed coffee is so enthralling.
We ordered the Seafood Broth came with bits of squid, prawn and some kind of fish in a tangy broth and some bread on the side. It was filling and very sumptuous.
Post this we got the mini burgers with pulled pork in brioche. These were the highlight of our meal. The pork was done to perfection and spiced beautifully. This with some gherkins in fluffy brioche made the perfect combination.
Their dessert menu is limited but I do love their coffee. The iced cappuccino is a must try during the day.

I've also tried the Gnocchi which to be honest is quite bad. It reminds me a bit of chalk and that can never be a good thing!

If you visit Zoe in the evening, there is a great buzz with the people and the music. The best part - you can buy your choice of poison by the bottle.

Do try the roasted chicken, the lamb burgers and the ever favourite French fries.
A visit to Zoe can cost around 500 to 1000 depending on what you end up drinking.

The burger campaign

It's a mid-spectrum review. It's not a judgment on Zoe; simply it's burger (not including the fries).

I'm on a 'best burger' quest. No, not chicken burgers. I have a long-list and a short-list (of 5-6 names).
Zoe was on it.

So I made it to Zoe one Sunday evening with a mission on my mind. Around 7 pm. Alone. They seated me in a dark corner single table.
I'm never one to accept something I don't like. I told them that I'd rather sit at the bar. It was completely empty. They agreed.
Since I didn't have company I wasn't too keen on sitting around. Focus on food and onwards. Somebody came and took my order. How'd you like your burger? "Medium rare in any Western country, but medium (at a minimum) here".
15 minutes. Burger comes in.

It doesn't look too big. I'm hungry. The fries look inviting as does the aioli. I munch on a few fries and then I attack the burger. Then a few more fries. Aioli. Dijon mustard. Hmmm. The fries are stellar. Really good! Better than the burger! I should have ordered 2-3 orders of fries.
The burger is moist with all the mayo but the meat...it's not satisfying. Not. The bite is not big. It doesn't have height. No tomato. No onion. Blanched lettuce. Ya, there's caramelized onion (or is it mushroom?). It's there but not with flavor that bursts in your mouth.

Ordinary burger. Mid-spectrum. The fries are really good. Possibly the best I've had in the city, but then I don't usually order fries...
But the fries are good as is the aioli...
