Ate to the Hearts Full

Well whenever someone says they starved to eat a good food, was not kidding. You have go here literally starved. the amount of food on the counter is vast.

Well personally I am vegetarian and its not money's worth to visit this place. but if you are accompanying your family who are ardent eaters of the sea world its wothwhile to visit.

You should try their tea to gulp down more and more food.

What I missed at this place is the specialty of a small restaurant who cook food to your need and not in bulk for everyone.

Overall a fun place for children as there is enough space for them to run and play.

Although the servers could explain how their buffet works would be better for new comers.

Disappointing Experience.

Though the food is good at Global Fusion, the experience was very disappointing!!! Who so ever said that u cannot charge 'service charge' apart from all the government charges; should visit global fusion. The staff points their finger towards the management saying that it was implemented on so and so date and they have to 'COMPEL' the customer into paying it. The staff is as clueless as you are but they still force u into paying the charges leveled on the receipt. After repeatedly inquiring and pointing it out to the staff that they cannot charge the same... they first try to coerce you by showing some vague print out about the government charges ... but after pointing out the 'extra service charge'; they accepted that it is towards the 'TIP' of the staff. It is not the question of paying a certain amount [5% of the bill amount] but the question remains that why is it made compulsory to the customer to pay the 'TIP' even though they are not satisfied with the experience? Isnt this illegal?

Best Buffet in Bombay!

Global Fusion is a place that we visit almost every other week, and as usual, the food is amazing.

We have always loved the food at China Gate, and the food here is no different. The advantage one gets is the variety that they serve,

My favourites include the steamed buns and the pepper chicken.

Only good for Starters

Had been to this place with a group of cousins. The ambiance is too good.
They have lots of varieties of starters but the main course was very okay as they did not have much options for vegetarian.
The most surprising thing was, they offer complimentary beverages which includes ice tea. when we asked for peach iced tea, we were told that only lemon ice tea is included and they would charge us for the peach ice tea.

They need to maintain hygiene in the cooking area and not pickup the food which was spilled on the floor and putting it back into the basket to serve the food. I had personally seen this incidence.

Really liked the food at this place. love the concept of the place too. very different from most other restaurants. i like the variety one gets to choose from and most of the food tastes good too. only thing i wish, if their service staff could be more warm and polite. it somehow gave a cold vibe across the staff. hoping for a better experience next time.

Absolute nonsense

I'll keep this simple. Total waste of money. The wife and I went for the Sunday buffet (1200 per head all inclusive). The sushi was doughy and pasty - rice overload. Pretty certain the rice used was not even the sushi rice. Other Jap salads and kimchi were disappointing. Same goes for the dimsums we moved onto. Other appetizers (pepper mushroom, corn, garlic potatoes) were passable at best. The soup (Manchow) was watery - almost clear soup. Main course completed the disappointment - the person planning the menu did not even have the brains/foresight to include a gravy main course - all 3 chinese dishes were dry. Moreover, they were kept in the pan for a long time making all the veges overcooked and pulpy. Thai curry was again runny and watery. Since I wanted to save myself some typing, nothing had flavour. Desserts were alright (regular Baskin Robbins flavours) and the appetizers were passable. Ambiance is nice - though it lends a certain perception about the food to expect! Service though was attentive, prompt without being obtrusive. Never going back again - and unless 2,500 is small sum for any of you, would advise you the same

Dumplings galore

What’s not to like about the Global Fusion buffet? The places seems to be challenging you to eat all you can and if will magically keep refilling your plate. Right from the eating-friendly ambience to the aammaazing dumplings, I love everything about this place. If you’re a fan of sushi and/or dumplings, seriously, look no further.

Not So good!

Our experience was pretty bad at Global Fusion. Though the variety of cuisines may sound interesting, the taste isn't that great. We found a honey bee in our food, which the management was not willing to easily replace. The drinks were extremely chilled, seemed like we were sipping on ice only, no flavour! The staff was not interested in serving and had to be called several times before being attended upon. When demanded to meet the manager, he took good 45 mins before he showed up and didn't even seem interested in apologizing! definitely not going back!!

Quantity only, no quality

A buffet is where you stuff yourself with too many things and not realise how bad the quality is. This surely applies for Global Fusion.

After visiting the first time, had decided never to venture in again. A year later was forced to visit, tried to be open minded but nothing had changed.

Other than some of the dimsums and Baskin Robbins icecream, didn't find quality in the tonnes of food available for consumption.

Also, dear management, if you read this, please do away with the sushi, you're putting the food to shame by serving that!

Just as the name suggests!

The concept of global fusion has always intrigued me! Such an amazing variety of food and desserts spread over a ridiculous amount of space and a decor that takes your breath away! I visited Global Fusion on Sunday and it had been around 8-9 months since my last visit! We expected it to be packed and hence booked a table! The staff was impeccable! They were well organised and managed to find us a peaceful area after we complained due to a noisy group that too on a crowded Sunday! At 1200 per head it's quite heavily priced but if you think about what's on offer you wouldn't complain! Over to the food- being vegetarians we weren't sure about whether we'd like this place the first time but we were pleasantly surprised! The wide spread of sushi is amazing! The sauces along with the sushi pack a punch! We tried the pepper and tandoori mushroom, okra(an amazing taste), corn cream and fried potatoes before opting for the dunplings( something you can't miss for the world). There were mixed veg, cheese, mushroom, spinach and all sorts of dumplings and we were absolutely full! The main course doesn't boast of much but the Thai curry is a good option if you have some space left post the starters! The desserts blow you away! You wish you had a better appetite! The little jellies, the pastries the ice-creams all make it an absolute feast! If all this wasn't enough, the cookies are great as well! To cleanse your palate make sure you have their Chinese tea! It leaves a great flavour in your mouth! I'm glad Global Fusion has maintained it's level! Only wish they would change the menu once in a while! Enjoy

Repetitive but Good

Visited Global Fusion on 28th August, 2013. Probably the 6th or 7th time. The menu hasn't really changed much but it still remains a non-veggies paradise. The entire setup of the restaurant is practically planned with chose-what-you-wanna-eat self service model.

The length of the non-vegetarian dish list is bound to please any foodie. However, it can be a let down for veggies.

A buffet with a variety

Global fusion has a great ambiance with all its decorations especially the water flowing right through the middle of the floor. There is a variety of sea food. Sushi is a must try. The starter is freshly prepared and is served to you. Dessert section has baskin robins ice cream parlor which is my favorite and you can have all you want. They serve alcohol but mock tails are more preferable if you don't drink. If you want to try different cuisine try Global Fusion.

Asian Haven

I cant even begin to describe the kind of variety you get here :D
It's a platter with no end I must say...
There is a separate table only for SUSHI ! So you can imagine how much I love the place. I love sushi and sea food.
I hog more on the sushi and the starters - I never even have to venture towards the main course.
For around 800 or so per head - and eat as much as you - this is a steal. There was one time where they served John Dory - like OMG - Whattay a fish that is to have.

I would definiteally recommend for variety / good value for the money and also the staff are nice and ambiance is great.

Love it !

The one thing that stares you in the face is CHOICE!
Initial few visits had me wondering about the hygiene standards, however that was a few years ago!
As a Japanese food lover this place really gives an opportunity to try out a lot of variety. Honestly, quality may not be par excellence however one does not expect so much on a buffet when it comes to Japanese food.

A 7-star experience without actually going to one

My first impression at seeing the ambience was "WOW". It is hard to believe that they have managed to make such a quiet and beautiful restaurant right in the middle of the linking road hustle-bustle...:)

Great food but definitely not for vegetarians (thats why you missed 1 star on my rating). Dont forget to try the various preparations of prawns, the hot and sour chicken soup was great.

You just need to find some great company to try this place which serves different kinds of sushi, unagi, prawns, squids, dumplings....

And after eating all of the above, if you do have space for the main course and desserts then dont worry, they are great too!!

Definitely worth a visit for ppl who want to try out something unique..

Costing - you'll find it reasonable after looking at the spread..:)

Just go for the Sushi

The title says it all. While Global Fusion sells itself on an all you can eat Asian buffet, the fare isn't really worth even tasting. It's insipid, uninspired, and wouldn't pass off as food anywhere else. the sushi bar however is another matter entirely. Well worth the price of the buffet, if you're a sushi buff like me. vegetarian and non vegetarian options available. easily some 10 varieties of each.

Best and authentic buffet ever

Amazing food.. pretty expensive though. But the ambience, quality and variety of food makes up for the cost. The ambience is lovely, though not too good for clicking pictures! :P
The starters are just never ending.. we spent close to 2 hours eating starters only.. after that we were just too full for the main course. I would suggest people not to have the cheese prawns.. they tasted very odd. and vegetarians need not fret. This place has awesome veg and non veg food both. Infact, try the fried corn, its absolutely yumm!!
I also tried sushi for the first time.. didn't like it. maybe it was the weird sauce that spoilt the taste.
and desserts were amazing too!.. I'm not much of a dessert person, but still i liked whatever i had.
The service is pretty great too. so this is a great place to try out for treats!
cheers! :)

Plenty of food

If you're thinking of Oriental cuisine and plenty of it, in Bandra, you sould make your way to the spacious and well laid out Global Fusion. Sushi lovers have a whole sushi bar to pick from and there is quite literally something for everyone.

The soups, starters are great for both vegetarians and non vegetarians, but the main course (if you aren't already overstuffed by then) are mediocre at best.

The dessert counter and selection look pretty enough, but I would rather step downstairs and into Naturals for ice- cream than eat here. Its almost as if they dont think its worth the trouble, because few people will have space left over after that humungous spread.

All in all, I would go back for a drink, plenty of starters and some sushi, no more.

My big fat Chinese Lunch

Just landed there while trying to explore the so-called "Food Court" of Link Square mall . When I entered, it just struck that they were celebrating Chinese New Year and it was crowded during lunch. I was informed that there was a buffet which charged Rs 925 exc taxes. It was an enormous amount and the system of ordering starters were confusing, I wanted to run away.. I found the white wine waiting on my table and hence stuck on... Here is what lifted my spirits...the waiters were very kind and they fetched me starters and sushi...I was planning to have main course since ordering for starters was a bit ambiguous...The waiters were kind enough to serve me starters on my table. The starters were very yummy (Prawn Tempura, Prawan wafers) and so was main course (Prawn mustard and Sweet chilly crab)...While I was nursing my wine glass, I happened to taste the Sushi and believe me it was yummy...The highlight of my lunch was the great performance put up (the lion dance) which transported to another world... By this time I was craving for deserts but was a bit let down on that front.. No date pancakes, no honey and sesame noodles and neither did i find the semi-sweet fried in cornflour with honey and sesame topping.... the litchi jelly was the best but the variety was strictly ok. The brownies and cakes were dry and not moist. A fortune cookie was the least they could do so that it was a rational end to a beautiful Chinese lunch. Hence the 3 starts after paying a hefty amount of 1141...

The day after I ate at Global Fusion, I posted a status on FB saying all the different kinds of meats i ate there...the list went something like this- Fish, prawns, chicken, octopus, duck, first ever sushi try, raw fish...and there was more but i dont remember. they have amazing prawns and if you want to try an elaborate buffet...this is one of the best that I have had. The ambience is so great and is frequented by celebs. On my visit, i spotted Gauhar Khan there. Even if it is completed occupied, it doesnt feel congested, it is that spacious. The sushis are really good, and even if you sample one bite of each, you will not be able to taste everything in the buffet, it is so amazing & hence totally worth the price.

Truely a Global Fusion

This is one of the best places for oriental cuisine. I absolutely savour their starters. They are a perfect melange of flavours. Their large variety of starters is all you will eat. They have a really good sushi counter as well and might i say one of the best sushi's ive had in Mumbai. Their sheer variety is very overwhelming and one must make the most of it. Though i don't remember the name, they had a prawns cheese starter which was sooo good e ended up calling for 8 portions of it. Though their main course is average, but it doesn't really matter as you're so full just by trying all the appetizers. They have a lavish spread of desserts as well, with your gello's, cakes (being freshly made) and an array of icecreams from baskin robins. Whats not to like?

4star

Located at the top of the Links mall in the bustling Linking Road area, Global Fusion is a 'fantabulous' restaurant, serving up some delectable oriental cuisine.

Ambiance:
The first thing which strikes you the moment you walk into the restaurant is the sheer size of the place. Its huge. The decor is beautiful, which really sets the mood for the epicurean journey ahead.

Food:
Brilliant, generous, mouth-watering, deliciousness...pretty much sums of the food GF serves up.
It starts with 4 soups (2 Non veg/2 Veg), 8-10 types of dumplings, about 20-30 starters (an important point of mention here is the dumplings and the starters are made for you on demand, so they come to your table nice & warm), 10-12 types of sushi/sashmi, cold salads.
..........and once your done feasting on that and if your apatite permits, we get to the main course.
Main course comprises of rice and noodles and 7-8 dishes. Apart from the usual pastries, brownies and fresh fruit, dessert includes Baskin Robbins ice cream with close to 8-10 flavors to choose from. People, could it get any better?

Service:
GF has some of the nicest staff. The waiters are so courteous and attentive to your needs. The moment they see you require a new plate, they will be over with a fresh plate, without you even having to ask. Unlike a lot of the other buffet joints, they are always keen for you to order even more starters.

Cost:
Considering the sheer breadth of the buffet, no matter what day of the week you go or whether you show up for lunch or dinner, GF is an amazing value for your buck.

Bottom line:
The bottom line here is this: GF has a rating of 4, with over 400 votes. If that isn't enough for you to visit a restaurant, I doubt anything is. The best tip I can give you, go light on the dinner the previous night, skip your breakfast in the morning and feast your heart out at GF for lunch. Big kudos to Mr. Tamang for running such a fantastic restaurant!

Favorite Shushi and dimsum corner!

Global fusion is our favourite Sushi and Dim sum place.
That is not all you get here. From soups to delectable starters. Dim sums to fritters. A combination of Thai and Chinese for the main course and end it with a yummy scoop of Baskins & Robbins and a range of other desserts.
However I go there for the Sushi and the Sashimi. It is yummy. I especially like the seafood salad and the papaya salad that they serve as accompaniments with the sushi.
Not a place for quick meals. You do need time on your hands to check out the variety and of course you need to be hungry! :)

Nice food and a great ambience

This place has one of the best south east asian menu that one can get. The price though on the face looks a tad on the higher side, but once you start eating, and the ambience totally justifies the amount. Must try it out once

Global [Mass Con] Fusion

Wowzers! That's the first impression you get from entering this place via a hot, noisy and dusty Linking Road. Global Fusion appears to be more akin to a nightclub than a restaurant. The interiors are dimly-lit, but definitely Chinese. The furniture; however, appears to be from a doll's house as this reviewer struggled to contain his lower limbs underneath the table without resorting to a yoga position.

The water features are elaborate, but confusing in terms of theme. Do I really need a giant frog sat next to me squirting water from his mouth over lunch?! The fish swimming in the pool were therapeutic, but only made me contemplate vegetarianism when I looked the other way and spotted the sushi counter :o(

The male staff are happy, courteous and eager to cater to every whim and fancy. The female staff, on the other hand, are nothing short of pre-menstrual in attitude. A smile would certainly crack their stony faces...

As for the food, usually with a buffet it's all about a huge assortment for a great price. And Global Fusion is no different. However, quality was distinctly lacking - therefore, only come here when your taste buds go on strike. The dim sums and some of the puddings just about passed muster, but that's not enough to make for a repeat visit.

I think the overall rating for this establishment (currently 4* - Good) speaks more about the patrons' wallets than their palates... Be warned Burrpers!

Mecca for Chinese lovers

Those who love variety and moreover love chinese food alot .. must visit this place.. its a hidden gem.. one of the best food i have ever had wid my spl someone..
we went there today afternoon for lunch,it was an impulsive call coz it was nearer to our meeting place..we made reservation 15mins before reaching da restaurent..we were totally drained bcz of the heat & humidity outside.. after searching for some tym,we found the link square mall where it is located.. the mall was hideous..smallest & most untidy mall i have ever seen.. we thought it was a mistake to come here..bt my fiance insists on checkin it out so we went on the 3rd floor where it is located.. and mahhhnnn...its mini china town from inside.. what ambience.. wt interior work..lighting,wall treatment..music.. everythin makes u realise immediately that this is going to be one of the best experiences of ur life.. we were located at a beautifully decorated table..wid an artificial pond next to us and live fish in it.. it was such a romantic atmosphere..without thinkin nething,u hold ur partner's hand in dimming candle light & instrumentals playing around.. started the super duper food extravaganza ... fresh lime soda & ice tea were served immediately & were refilled again & again..they hav a live sushi counter..im nt a big fan of sushi bt after seeing so many varieties, coud not resist n guess wat.. i loved them all..spl the prawn salad ws superb.. we tried chk tom yung soup 7 chk spinach corn soup..both were absolute delight..
they have open kitchen concept here wich is really cool..they have FIFTY GODDAMN STARTERS...wow...!! unlimited dumplings, chicken black pepper, fried pepper mushroom, some fried tofu thingy,n really yummy piece of pomfret..were super duper liked by us.. prawn tempura & steamed chickn wings were strictly ok ok... thn they had fried starters' counter..had rice pockets, onion pan cake, spring roll(al nt so gud)..bt the potato biscuit, fried prawns, n fried chicken wings made my day.. prawns were really crispy.. after stuffing so much we moved to main course (hardly some place left in our stomach).. the variety was limited(thank god).. some total 8-10 veg/non veg varieties ( all were super tasty)..the balance was really gud,i mean they knw that people wil gorge over starters so they hav kept the main course minimalistic n simple (rice & noodles).. 3 types of veg & 3 types of non veg main course were available.. veg thai curry was really gud wid rice.. i hate too mch coconut which is generally found in thai curries which give u heavy stomach feeling which was not the case here.. n finally moved our agenda to desserts.. we actually took a break of 10mins b4 desserts.. desserts hav many enchantin varieties.,they serve baskin robbins ice cream (10-12 options.. ).. and they have really tiny portions of pastries.. which are absolute mouth watering.. tried all 8-10 of them & loved dem all... we could not believe that we ate soo much.. we were having our lunch for more than 2hours.. finally finished our lunch date while sipping coffee... can u believe all this was included in the buffet for Rs.721/- per person inclusive of al taxes.. can u believe ur good stars,,??? we r planning to come here at least once a month to satisfy our test bud..stomach & mind both were ultimately satisfied.. kudos to the team.. keep up the good work...

Global Orgasms

Well,to begin with,I went there for the first time yesterday.I went with my best friend. We kept contemplating whether the place would really be worth the price and whether the food would reach up to our expectations because lets face it buffets can be disappointing.Keep into account that if you go during the weekends reservations is a must do.The chances of you getting a table is very unlikely after 9.The place and the ambience is spectacular. It gives you this real china town feel which you get to see in movies. The place is beautifully decorated and is sophisticated .Formal but not too formal. Now about the food. The staff is very helpful.Their system is very unique. You need to take the clips kept on your table to each counter that you would like to eat from and they personally serve it hot.The food made my taste buds jump. The flavors are pretty good.Yes for the non veggies, this place is a delight. They have a large variety of salads. They can bring in more variety into the main course. Its mainly chinese ( not too authentic) and thai too.I personally loved the tomato soup.It is not too sweet and it has a tinge of spice towards the end of each sip and I also loved the crispy corn ,the baby potatoes and the cheese garlic toasts. The desserts are to die for. Baskin and robbins ice cream,an amazing range of cakes,a mango tropicana drink in a shot glass which was quite impressive, and cookies. It serves the need of every dessert eating person.I can't provide much information about the non vegetarian food. But my friend did like the fried prawns and fried chicken.I recommend this place for heavy eaters or even for those who just want to have a nice relaxed evening with good music.

Close to paradise!

Before coming here, I'd heard a lot of snooty reviews about this place from people who generally cannot judge the food without knowing which celebrity owns/frequents it; "The food is substandard", "My boyfriend got a bad tummy after eating there" and the likes. But I thought I'd give it a try on my birthday and treated my boyfriend here.
I was awed by the ambiance with pleasant waterfalls, fish ponds and well-designed yellow lighting. The tables are placed between trees and embedded lights which almost gives it a romantic appeal. It's around 650 for weekday lunch and a bit more for dinners and weekends. But the variety of starters is fabulous. Being a buffet, it's unlimited of course, which makes it the perfect place for a date - with fantastic ambiance, wholesome quantities of delicious food and amazing drinks. They have myriad starters for the non-vegetarian palate featuring copious amounts of seafood - shrimp, fish, crabs, lobsters, squid; all cooked in different styles - steamed with yummy sauces, deep-fried, stir-fried in tasty Chinese sauces, put into dim-sums, sushis and salads. Even the soups were fabulous. Then there was the main course which was fairly average, nothing to die for. But the ice-creams were soothing and delicious!
Basically, one has a limited appetite and can't possibly eat each and everything on the menu which has more than 30 starters, 8-10 main course items, unlimited desserts and soft drinks. Alcohol is available at extra charge. You don't mind paying for that if you're already paying for the buffet. So you can select the starters that please your palate and keep ordering more. Avoid ordering too much of something you may not like because this place overwhelms you with variety and you're tempted to ask for everything that sounds delicious. Not all things bowl you over though. There were some starters which were strictly OK but most of them were yummy.
Try the Prawns Teppanyaki, sushi, Baked cheese prawns and crab (with Wasabi and black bean sauce on the side), steamed pomfret with garlic, sauteed mushrooms, fried chicken, squid in oyster sauce and most of the seafood which is delicious. Chicken and meat is not great here.
I am definitely coming here till this place exists. It represents what I've always wanted - a paradise of seafood, unlimited.

Sushi, Tempura, Tepenyaki!!!

I wonder why should you call it global fusion. Oriental Fusion is more apt right? Brilliant location and what amount of space this restaurant has manged to procure. The decor is stunning and sets you in the mood pronto. Mood lights, orchids, bamboos, water streams and the works. Reservation is a must, be it weekdays or weekends.
Now the spread. It hardly leaves anything to the imagination. JApanese, Indonesian, Thai and of course Chinese. The best of these regions finds a place in the spread. The have a separate sushi counter, (I loved the sea food salad) here. All of this was kept on ice.
The next counter is for the cooked starter section...they prepare it live, so you need to place a clip of your table number on the dish you would prefer. the serve it within minutes at your table. the prawns tempura and the dimsums were delicious but the chicken and lamb dishes with varieties like black bean sauce, red wine and chilli, had asimilar after taste. Did not figure any major differences in the dishes here.
The main course section was a little disappointing. Vegetarian noodles, vegetarian fried rice, a dish in chicken, prawn, paneer and someother vegetable.
I guess people would be really full by the time they come to the main course, hence not too much variety here.
Not much to write about in the dessert part. There is a baskin and robbins counter. No traditional oriental desserts like the doney crispies or date pan cakes etc.
Service is tremendous. Staff is prompt and very courteous. They even agreed to click photogrphs :)
Pricing is also decent for the variety.
A must try indeed for anyone who would like to improove their oriental foodie knowledge.

Great spread

Visited here on Sunday (19th April) with friends for lunch - rather by chance because the Firangi Paani opposite was closed.
Must say that it was a great experience and vastly appealing to the taste buds. I liked the ambiance and the WIIIIIDDDDDEEEEEE spread of starters, sushi’s, desserts, available. The portions are small but the good part of that is, since it is unlimited, you get to try out so many varieties.
Service is quick so you need not wait too long for the ordered portions to reach the table. They have a unique "Clip" based ordering system - which the manager was prompt to explain to us since it was our first time there.
All in all a delightful culinary experience and three hours very well spent...
I definitely recommend the place to everyone - though at Rs. 804 (including taxes) per head, you need to keep your appetite high. However, I think it is VFM - value for money...

Asian Fusion

You can sum up the place with this - Visit only after a gap of some months and you will still love the place. Visit more frequently and you will begin to wonder what did you like about the place

Having visited the place thrice in 4 months, I can safely say that most of the buffet menu is repeated everyday - I ended up eating quite a few dishes everytime. And the name is slightly misleading - the cuisine is pan-Asian and not global.

The size of the buffet is overwhelming at the first visit - when you are faced with a choice of 10-12 stir fries in veg/nveg each, 10 kinds of dimsums, equal number of sushi & salads. Then ofcourse there is main course and desserts - with the unlimited Baskin Robbins. So the first visit is the most memorable

On your repeat visit, even with the king-size buffet, you are going to be a little disappointed at lack of choices. Human fallacy - even with so much choice, we want more.

But the one thing that hasnt disappointed till now is the dimsum counter. They prepare all your orders fresh and each time the dimsums form the major portion of my meal. Their quality has remained unchanged and I only wish they increased their serving sizes (you get ONE Sui-mai when you order the dish).

The setting and ambience remain wonderful as ever, so if they could churn their menu a bit, it would be a full 5-star eatery.

Good Food but no change in menu

Been to this place 3 times now.. they do not serve a la carte, but has a huge buffet spread, which is the USP of this place.
I have never had the original fish sushi here, but the vegetarian sushi type rolls are excellent and so are the salads (served at the same counter). Then they also have a live counter (stir frys, dim sums, etc), the fried food section, main course and desserts. Lets go over it one by one.
Something common to each of the sections is the VARIETY! there's so much available that you'd be confused what to have.
Live Counter - excellent burnt garlic dim sums and an EVEN better stir fried veggies. My friends have loved the non veg items as well.
Fried Food Section : Fried food is usually not my favorite but the fried chicken and onion pancakes (not sure if that's the right name) are above average.
Main Course: after stuffing ourselves, with the first two courses, we usually skip or have very little of the main course (to leave some space for the yummy desserts). main course is anyway nothing exceptional.
DESSERTS: Oh MY god! To die for... i become a glutton at this counter. they serve at least 4 types of cookies, 10-12 varieties of mini pastries ( i am sure the count is more than that) and ice creams from gelato. the chocolate cakes are TOOO good (mud game, chocolate+nut, tea cakes).
By the end of the meal, i am usually over stuffed. All this for around Rs 650 per head.
My only complaint is that every time I've been there, the items in the spread are the same - they NEVER change. which makes me wonder whether they roll over left over items to the next day. Hence 1 star less.
Oops - so absorbed in the food that i forgot to mention about the ambiance. One of the few restaurants in Mumbai which is spacious and has a huge dining area. thumbs up for that !
We love this place but if they don't change the menu, we're probably going to get bored sooner or later.

Great food, must visit

We dined here on a sunday night and we did manage to get a table without reservation. As described in all other reviews the cuisines in pan Asian, tilting towards Japanese and Chinese more than other regions. The ambience and the spaciousness of Global fusion would come as a welcome surprise. The Sushi and Sashimi counter was quite a delight, with commendable variety. I gorged on the same and was not disappointed by these, well infact it was spot on with the sensations on our taste buds. Although the wasabi sauce could have been bettered it lacked the strong tastes that wasabi usually delivers, but I would still go ahead and give 10 out of 10 for this counter. There was the stir fry and Steam/baked counter which did score very high with us. The seafood here was scrumptious. The deep fry section was also good. Finally we reached at the main course which we couldn’t do much justice to as we were already full with the other 3 counters, it had plain rice, fired rice, noodles, chicken and 3 seafood dishes, here I would like to mention the ginger fired rice- delectable. The dessert bar had lesser variety especially for Indian sweet lovers, but there were unlimited baskin robin ice creams and delicious little pastries. It was very gratifying meal we had especially with Sushi and Sashimi. However whatever magic Global fusion does gastronomically it is a major let down in service or rather the total lack of it and I would like to highlight it to management (didn’t find feedback questionnaires). I do understand this was a buffet serivice, but we had to ask for everything from glasses for bottled water they placed to spoons and forks after each dash to the counters. The biggest eye sore was a huge trolley containing dirty dishes which were being collected from the tables, this was placed right next to dessert counter. It seems they need to get their act together in service section. Having said that i would recomend this place for the food even if that means a little shouting/whistling to get basic implements on your table.

GLOBAL gastronomical FUSION!

Dinner at Global Fusion was a birthday surprise. And what a surprise at that!

It was also the first time I had visited the place. As I entered I was left speechless - WOW ambiance, decor, size (area)! Its by-far the biggest restaurant (by size) I have visited. A reservation is necessary unless you are willing to wait for long since people don't finish eating the huge spread for hours together. Very spacious and beautifully done up with oriental displays all over.I felt I was in mini Japan or Vietnam.

The buffet had Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Malay and Thai food on offer. There were easily about 20-30 different starters (veg and non-veg), a huge sushi counter with variety as if its a lone standing sushi-serving resto and great sashimi too. The dumplings were perfect and the prawn tempura succulent. The chicken dishes however weren't the best items at the buffet.

Once you begin with the appetizers, you cannot hold yourself until you get a whiff of the aroma from the main course section. And there again you see a long table with so much food! Crabs, prawns, fish, chicken, red thai curry, tangy paneer and veggies....what not! You cannot decide what to eat; ie if your tummy already isn't bursting with appetizers!

While at the main course counter, I happened to notice the dessert section and already had my mouth watering. I had to choose in my mind between heavy main course or inviting desserts. Desserts won ;-)

At the dessert counter, it was another world....totally spoilt for choice - unlimited scoops of Baskin Robbin ice-cream, 5-6 types of cookies, walnut brownies, cream cake and custard. I was full till my neck yet not complaining. This was the best birthday surprise till date. Overall one of the best places I've visited.

Caution: You would enjoy this place if you have a taste for such cuisines or else you may find the food bland.

MUST VISIT atleast once for the experience!

Total VFM..Yummy food, yummy prices

I can see why Global Fusion has become such a fast hit with us!! Every true blue desi wants awesome food at the lowest price..and trust me..for the wide variety of Japanese & Chinese variety offered its excellent. I loved the fact that sushi and chinese dumplings were all bite-sized..so u can serve yourself heartily from a variety of options without it going to waste. But beware, if you're like me you will start tripping on the starters itself - & have no place left for main course! I spotted gorgeous crabs but had no appetite left! Next time I'm going to start with main course and end with the sushi. The ambience is nice (not advised for couples as you will find groups of max. 20 ppl sitting & chatting around). They have this lovely raised table in the corners perched atop little streams of water with goldfish swimming about (guess you have to make a reservation to sit there). Desert was decent but who cares when you've stuffed yourself with sushi after sushi!

Standards are dropping !!!!!!!!!

Went to Global fusion yet again three weeks back........My wife and I are big fans of this place and enjoyed all our previous visits (6) there and never came back dissapointed apart from the increased waiting and serving time (which is expected when the rush is high). However, this time we were dissapointed with the sevice even though it was a week day (Wednesday to be precise). The drinks were super quick to come but the food took hours. Each time I went and placed a request for an tem, they took at least 30 minutes to get the same and that too after reminding them several times. The food quality was good (have had better food there before) and I hope they can go back to their original standards. All in all, feel bad seeing a nice place and concept going down.............Management needs to get on their toes again................

A great experience

This is easily one of the more unique restaurant options that we have in Bombay. The all-you-can-eat concept is a wonderful way to please everyone and gives you the chance to sample an enormous variety of Asian dishes.

The food counters are divided into different sections: sushi & cold dishes, dim sum and warm starters, desserts, and main dishes.

While the sushi may not be of the highest quality (I'm sure some of it is frozen fish), I have not been disapointed. Don't go expecting the same sushi that you would find at Wasabi because you aren't paying Wasabi prices here. If you keep realistic expectations then you'll leave satisfied.

The dim sum counter gives you more than enough choices and since they make it to order, it always comes hot and fresh. The main courses are usually pretty standard and I usually never make it past the dim sum and sushi to bother anything from that section. The desserts are ordinary but served in really small portions, so it's easy to end on a sweet note.

Overall, a good place to bring a group or for times when you really want to pig-out.

A foodies heaven:

Caution! If the look of Sushi and raw fish doesn't appeal to you, this place is not for you.

But if you are one of those who like to experiment with numerous cuisines and are ready to rock your pallete...this can't get better. A visual treat for your eyes with innumerable dishes on display. A wide selection of Sushi and Sashimi. And the best part, a wide variety for the vegetarians too.

The ambience is exotic and relaxing. A pagoda and red chinese light shades transport you to the far east. The light refelcting water pond in the middle adds to its charm. The staff is cheerful and prompt. Please take a tour to explore the dishes on display, before you get on with your food. You can choose from multiple soups, sashimi’s, dumplings, tempura, Fritters, salad and Spring Rolls. Made to order Stir fried starters, sticky rice and many more. While most of the items are self service, some of them will be made fresh and brought to your table. The main course served in the adjoining section is another delectable affair with Thai curry, rice, noodles and other meat, sea food items. The Dessert corner is a variety of unlimited cakes and pastries with unlimited Baskin Robbins Ice Cream corner.

EXHAUSTIVE....!!!

Ok...first let me tell you that it is highly unlikely that u will come out of this place unsatisfied....
secondly and most important ..there are equal number of veg and non veg dishes.( a very big misconception by most people).
i have eaten here about 4 times and have never made it to the main course.!!l lol..

The clam salad in superb.. and even though I am not a fan of sushi my friends told me tat it is really good..
personally i love the tempura prawns and the praw bake..
also the lamb meat ball dumpling is really good..!!
u can also request the waiter to get a variety of kebabs directly to the table..

deserts section has quite a decent choice. although the Baskin Robbins counter steals the show..

They also have a really good mango drink but it gets over pretty soon i guess..so grab it quick.. .. but it would be really good if they could stop putting the jelly sort of substance in the mango drink..its not at all good.!!

overall a very satisfying experience..will definitely go back!!

Go on a weekday

Im not a big sushi fan , but i insist you should not miss it. On a weekday me and my colleagues paid around 570 per head , i must have eaten about 2 kgs prawns by myself, the buffet seemed endless and between three of us we tried 75% of the table. My abs favourite pepper fried crabs .... i would go there again and again just for the awesome sea food ... i had something called sugarcane prawns ... prawn skwered on sugarcane sticks oh yummm... i wish we could check out the menu and choose the perfect day to visit...simple amazing... desserts were a big let down with only ice cream and some tiny pastries....

Interesting Concept

Little do you realize as you take the elevator to the 3rd floor that there is a huge restaurant situated above this low quality shopping arcade. It is a relief that it has a pay & park in crowded Linking Road.

The unassuming entrance leads to a huge high roofed restaurant with a sushi counter and a separate dim sum counter. There is a fixed price and you can choose everything on the counters - the per person cost comes to Rs. 700 including Serivce Charge & VAT.

While the range is huge, if you are coming for top quality sushi, this is not the place. There is a lot of attempt at innovation on the California Roll, Maki Roll and the other stuff. The sashimi and simle sushi are good. The dimsums are good - in fact better than teh sushi. And you get Baskin Robbins ice cream as part of the package. Worth a shot and take it from there.

The wine range is decent. Insist on the wooden shop sticks and check if they are chipped.

The service is good, and on weekdays, post 9.30 pm, it may be a challenege to get a place immediately.

Largest Variety of Sushi....Disappointing Desserts

Its a great place to go when you want to linger over a meal. The ambiance is very nice with dark lighting and nice decor. Its not very loud due to its size.

Food: A large spread for veg with 10 - 15 starters, 2 soups, 8 - 10 types of sushi. In starters the aubergine and corn ones were really good and crunchy. The Thai curry was also very nice. The only disappointing part was the desserts. They have Baskins ice cream and about 10 other pastries. Unfortunately they are all cakes and seems like only the color is different with the same base. Totally avoidable.

Damages: Rs 800 - 850 per person its not a bad deal. I think its the same for non veggies so they have double the choice.

Nice Place

For the price i think the spread is pretty decent.
The dumplings are good and so is the variety. Now i haven't tasted sushi elsewhere and hence can't comment on the authenticity of the fare on offer but taste wise it wasn't bad. Go there if you are a sea food fan cause the sea food dishes are aplenty.
Starter-wise other than the various dumplings the beef teppanyaki and the baked prawns were nice, the chicken wings and hash brown thingies were real good.
The main course isn't the most varied while the deserts were decent.
The only grouse i have is that on the two occasions i've been there, the menu hadn't changed much from one time to the next.

Great Valentine Theme

Been there last nite for a lovely Valentines day & my hubby birthday..Had prebooked a table for 6 sum days ago..The food is exceptionally good as expected..The crowd ystrday even at 7.30 was chaotic. The service yesterday was not great due to the large crowd.
But the starters were great - especially the Wolly prawns were superb......the Corn cheese balls were superb....The baked chicken was a class apart.
The Beef chilly was lovely.
The desert section was huge - icecream+cookies was fantastic.
Good food - the valentine themed ambience was lovely...all in all my hubby was very happy...Thanks

Great for sushi

Walking in, the decor and the sheer size of the restaurant blew me away. This place is for some serious eating. With respect to the spread , the variety is not as much as one would have liked, but the food in itself is good. Stick to the starters, for the maincourse does not really bring anything new to the table. Non vegetarians are more likely to enjoy the place , with the range of meat, seafood and sushi available. And the best part is, one can sit and eat continuously for three hours at a strech, and still not feel like your stomach is going to fall out! A place to truly celebrate gluttony.

Experience par excellence

I had lunch on the afternoon of Friday, 19th December, 2008. It was a superb journey down the lanes of epicurean delight.

The meal cost me Rs 700(one person). I entered the restaurant through the mall without realising that they have a seperate entrance from the side of the mall.

First let me begin with the ambience- a gurgling brook, plenty of greenery and soothing music welcome you. There are 2 distinct live cooking stations/counters in the main seating area- one serving sushis/sashimis and the soups and the other serving teppanyaki appetisers. The wide array of sushi's including vege options was simply superb. The appetiser counter has a display of humonguous varieties of fish, chicken, paneer, prawn options which you just choose and it gets served at your table. There were lovely prawn and veg tempuras as well. After you have this you proceed to the next section of main course where you have a good variety of chicken, fish, prawn, noodles, rice etc and a dessert counter which mainly has ice-creams.

I have now made it a point to visit this place every time I visit Mumbai/India. Look forward to the next visit.

Asian Food Fiesta!!

My experience of Global Fusion was amazingly unexpected. It is totally unlike your regular restaurants. The ambiance is good and with spacious seating. With separate counters for Japanese sushi, Chinese appetizers, main course and desserts, it was like being in some Asian Food Festival. The food was amazing and this is the place to try Japanese cuisine if you have never ever tasted it before. Thumbs up for experience. Global Fusion is now on my favorite list!!

Top drawer restaurant

I go here often and each time I know what I am getting.

The quality of the food is remarkably consistent and the spread on hand is damn near overwhelming.

They have a great sushi bar. The dim sum counter is well stocked. And their starters are top notch. I can not fault this place at all.

Try the california rolls, fish in black bean, shrimp teppanyaki, steamed chicken buns, spicy corn, baked shrimp with cheese, corn cream, onion cakes.

I have never had their main course as I fill up on the sushi, dim sum and appetizers.

Well worth a visit.

Creepy crawlies in the starters and rancid dessert

We've been to global fusion a couple of times before, but when a group of us girl friends decided to go there for a catch up dinner, we couldn't have made a worse choice. The starters had a live insect coming out of it and when we called the really rude waiting staff, they tried 'making it better' by insisting it was only a fly???
We tried making the most of a bad start and carried on with the evening. Only to be terribly disappointed with the desserts. The cheesecake and the tiramisu was rancid and once again the painfully rude waiting staff and sectional managers, insisted it was not. In fact they got downright rude and aggressive here. It was only when another customer (a male) agreed with us did they back down.
A hugely disappointing evening. Terribly impolite staff, unhygienic and stale food and most of all no one of a senior position ( who would have hopefully known how to be polite and courteous). Would only recommend Global Fusion to people with experience in martial arts ( to deal with the aggressive waiting staff) and a stomach of steel (to digest creepy crawlies and rancid food).

Paradise for Oriental food lovers

Spent my valentine day evening with my wife at global fusion.. i must say being a vegetarian i didnt expect much from the restaurant. but it was a total surprise for me as they had countless veg options. do try the sushis and the mushroom veg dim sum, they were really great.
my only complain is some dishes served to us on table werent hot -like the tandoor and some other oriental starters like shanghai paneer which ruined our experience a bit.. but non the less lively restaurant, courteous staff and amazing sushi and dim sum made our night..

Tsunami of food

Vast vast vast spread of food... heaven for Sushi lovers... Skip ur breakfast if u plan to go there for lunch. Weekdays lunches are the cheapest. One needs to have atleast 3-4 hours for lunch to do justice to he menu...
The main course can be easily skipped as the starters itself will fill you up... Best thing about dessert is it comes in smaller portions allowing you to try more varieties...

Never ending spread...
Atleast 25-30 starters with a seperate section for sushi, soups & dim sums...You will get everything from prawns, crabs, fish to chicken, lamb & also veg...
Elaborate spread of main course...Mini desserts (cakes & pastries) & a baskin robins counter to end it on a high note...Forgot to mention teh bottomless serving of areated drinks & mineral water....
All this for an unbeatable price of appx 900 / head on a weekend...
The place is beautiful & there is ample space inside the restaurant...

Crazy.....

finally visited this place on valentines day with my gf.

we had booked a table for the 10pm slot.....
we finally managed to get in at 1030pm...
i actually had to grab the incharge n let him know that i was frustrated of waiting...

once we entered we were overwhelmed by the ambiance
a perfect 5/5 ...
they have tried their very best to make it look oriental...but will do.

food...
its a heaven for non veg lovers like me.... n hell for veggies like my gf...
they had all the Japanese stuff.....most of which i have never been able to pronounce ...but i hve always loved to eat...
they smeho have manged to get alll types of meat in the startres except pork which they dont serve....n acc to me i dint even find mutton...
the had crabs, eel , squids, salmon, tuna, local fishes, sme caviar as toppings on a sushi.., oyster, chick, beef...
i sppse tht tells it alll
the dimsums n the soups were okie...
but they take a huge amnt of time to reach ur table....
the main course is what i decided to skipp...n had an xtra round of the starters...
the main course was mainly a few types of non gravy meatt n 2 types od rice....thts it.

the dessert were okie... the small mouthful size pastries were njoid....n the ice creme was frm baskin robins...so no comments...

now for the veggies,,,,not much of options apart frm the desert...they hve very few option n the tastes were strickly ok !!!

the service was pretty prompt.... the servers always cleared n cleaned our table whenever we went to tag our nxt food...

they also offered us a glass lime juice/ ice tea / soft drink...
apart frm this , u need to pay xtra...

Now this being a japanese restaurant...i was shocked when they said... NO chopsticks....
this is whut i dint like...

price = 702 + service tax + vat = 869 / -

well if ur a non vegtrn...its worth ...

very good buffet of Oriental cuisine

Went there on Friday with friends. Surprisingly huge place... excellent food. Best part is there`s a good variety for vegetarians like me. One can sample as many dishes from their vast spread of japanese, thai and some other far east cusines. Sushis and dimsums were fresh... a plus point!

Let Down - their Air Conditioning did not work well! Had to move to another table to get some air circulation. Also the main course is strictly ok. Starters, Desserts and Soup section definitely rocks!

I will strongly recommend this place to all....

Must for international cuisine lovers

Did'nt know that there was such a wonderful place 'just around the corner' for us. Bandra actually gives you a bouquet of eaters to suffice your tummy any time of the month. Global fusion is a must visit especially in the first few days of your months i.e. when your pockets still full.
Ambiance good, food (good for my taste buds... a big no for people have a fetish for spicy Indian food), quantity (unlimited). Now lets talk about the food.
Salads & Sushi - Pretty much meets the standards. A fantastic variety catering to all tastes. Included Chicken, prawns, squids, bamboo shoots, tofu
Soups - Range of soups from basic sweet corn, manchao to dumpling soup.
Starters - Fantastic combos..range of dumplings, prawns, fish, chicken & meat
Main Course - Brilliant Thai curry, rice, noodles, Fish, prawns, mixed veggies
Deserts - Baskins robbins ice-cream, pastries..yummilicious.
I understand that some people have a perception that buffet means stuffing yourself...what i also think is a buffet helps you explore various food items which otherwise you would have to spend a bomb on. Therefore request people to try everything on offer (in moderation).
I must admit that the some of the food was quite bland, however the good thing is that other that the sushi, none of the other food was undercooked or raw. The dumplings were perfectly done with the spices well blended. The fish items were excellent. One word of caution, DO NOT try tasting the sauces/dips alone...some of them will sting your tongue. I think 1200 (incl. VAT) for a novel experience, especially with good friends & courteous staff is not an expensive affair. I would definitely visit the place again.

Ambiance and sheer variety

The best thing about Global Fusion is the ambience – one feels relaxed after having a meal here. The tables are large and well spaced out, so one has enough privacy and space.

They serve pan-asian food buffet. The sheer variety is staggering. Good variety of sushi. The starters are prepared fresh on order and are nicely flavored. Some Indian starters were also available which were average. Liked the starters so much that didn’t bother to try the main course. Desserts were okayish. Go for the ambiance and variety.

Global Feast - for the eyes too

Went with a few friends a couple of days ago, and liked the place.

There were 16 of us, including kids, so got 2 tables joined to accommodate us. Considering the basic concept is a self-serve buffet, getting in and out of your place on the sofa is a bit challenging.

However, spread -wise...Great Spread due to the sheer variety. Atleast 8 different varieties of Veg and Non-veg dishes for each counter available - that would be 16 salads, japanese rolls and sushi, dumplings, stir fry, main course and dessert. Only the fried starters had a limited choice of 5 only!!! Lol!!

If you are a foodie and would like to experience a lot of Asian cuisines then this would be the place. Though obviously, since it is assembly line production, quality might not be upto the mark of 5 star hotels - and 5 star hotel buffets also frequently suffer from assembly line production poor quality. But hey! the food was good, tasty, varied, and unlimited.

Especially liked the Baked Chicken, Prawn and Chicken Suimai, and Prawn Teppenyaki.

Value for money - Yes for the sheer spread, but no if you don't eat much. One thing's for sure though, in Mumbai it's difficult to get to try all these different dishes in the amount we shell out here (around 750 - 800 for weekday dinner)

Worth a try at least once - further visits at your own discretion.

What's all the fuss about?

I'm a huge fan of China Gate, so was enthusiastic about Global Fusion (they belong to the same group) The decor is elegant and the service is efficient but that's where the good things end.

The food leaves a lot to be desired. I'm a vegetarian, so can't speak about the meat. But most of the veggie dishes are downright sweet. I understand a dash of sugar/honey here and there but in 90% of the dishes? There was little other flavour.

Another factor is the prices. It's close to Rs 1000 per person...and how much can you possibly eat? I'd much rather go to China Gate where the food is delicious and prices are affordable.

The thai curry and desserts were pretty good, but will I shell out a 1000 bucks for them? Most certainly not!

horribly disappointed...

True to its name this place definitely caters to its varied exotic palettes.Strictly stop at the entrance if crawlies and sushis do not hold your fascination. very very limited option for vegetarians. in fact its more like a favor done to the people of that category with 2 items offered for every 10 exotic non veg items..veg sushi-not so great,paneer-garlic dimsums, spinach dimsums were just about ok. mushrooms in garlic sauce sauteed-awesome. main course- way too bland for me. rice, noodles, thai curries...bland. desserts- excellent preparation. go there for desserts.tried almost everything on the table.lime soda sweet way too badly made. service and ambiance- impeccable.
service-5/5

A Gastronomic Adventure

A public announcement before I start - 'If you haven't been here yet, you should asap. Missing this place is a crime' :)
I would term this place 'A Gastronomic Adventure'. Global Fusion exceeded my expectations which I had after reading thru the excellent reviews this place has attracted by burpers here.

Setting / Concept : Grand.Lavish.The very look of the place makes you say 'woah :D' ..ya mouth wide open.
The very fact that Global Fusion attracts so many Japanese clients tells you a lot about the level of perfection the chefs put in the dishes they serve. 5/5

Eat Around the World : It was Ani who was very excited about having sushis. After a lot of research,I stumbled upon a blog which described this place as the best place for sushis in Mumbai.
An extravagant display of sushis, shasimis, maki rolls and the teppanyaki section.

Dish 1 - Sushi : Started with Sushis. Tried the Sashimi Platter, nigiri sushi ,california roll (liked a lot),egg prawn roll. Also, the sea food salad is a must try!

Dish 2 - Teppanyaki Section. Two sweet women at the counter welcome you to place your order and fresh steamed/fried dishes are served at your table.
Try cheese baked prawns, garlic promfret, chicken satay, clams.
Teppanyaki prawns are to die for. These were recommended by the women.

This place will spoil you for choice. Believe me. You can't eat everything.

Dish 3 - Prawn , chicken dumplings, Black bean squids, fried chicken, Prawn Tempura. OMG we were so full by now.
We decided to stop a bit and indulge in a conversation but couldn't . Kept diggin in :)

Main Course - We tried crabs, red thai curry and rice, small helpings of prawns and fish.

Desserts - Baskin Robbins icecream - some 15 odd flavours to choose/mix from. I tried Almond Praline, Alphonso.
Ani had Dark Chocolate (donno why she likes it so much). Chocolate fudge and Black Forest pastry were also tried.

Damages - INR 2000 for two (including taxes and tip). Buffet cost (weekends - 825 INR). Weekdays its around 720 INR.
But it's worth it. Truly recommended. I can't think of any flaw observed.
I liked the way a blogger named this place as Global 'Con'fusion :P

Loved the food!

Great decor. They really took the trouble to make this place look awesome. I haven't seen many places in mumbai with such a nice setup.

The food was awesome, a little pricey but well worth it. A great variety of food. Sushi and Sashimi as well, i really enjoyed starting up with these. The starters bar was just filled with so much food and i had to try everything. Never got to the Main courses though. Did not even realize it was there until i went over to the desert bar.

The only off thing about this place was the service could be a little better. 4/5 for me. I would definitely come back here.

MORE OF SOUTH EAST ASIAN FUSION

After a lot of thinking we finally decided to go to a place we hadnt been to before, and as we had read a lot of good reviews about GLOBAL FUSION we went there.
AMBIENCE- As one enters the palce one gets a good feel about it ,its very spacious ,the pond in the middle of the restaurant looks nice, there is an oriental sort of a theme , the tables are not too close to each other ,which is so hard to find these days in mumbai.

FOOD- This place only serves buffets and has no ala carte. Each table here has a number and when u go and take a look at starters u can decide what u want to eat and tell it to the person standing at the counter along with your table number and they bring it to your table.
The starters are many different types of dumplings/dimsums stuffed with chicken ,fish, and a few ones with vegetables.
There is also a variety of salads like the squid salad, prawns n peaches salad,a few vegetables like bamboo shoots ,mushrooms, lotus stems ,beans, etc
In the starters i liked a few dimsums but couldnt remember the names as there were many dimsums and was hard to remember all their names, but i didnt like the sesame chicken as it was very hard.
Many different types of prawns ,fish and crabs were also there.
There were many kinds of sushi as well.
there were few veg starters ,sort of onion or potato kebabs
One can also choose from 4 types of soups or one can opt for lemon tea or fresh lime soda.
There is also a bar area and variety of drinks which are not part of the buiffet
The main course section is not that good and has only noodles, fried rice, thai curry, and a dish of prawns ,fish, crab and chicken .
The dessert section is also nice ,with a variety of small sized pastries, cakes ,cookies, small cubes of jelly, mango tropicana and rum balls.
And then the best part with baskin and robbins icecreams of all flavours.

Its a good place for those who like fish, the variety is really good.
But for only vegetarians or someone not fond of southeast asian cusines esp japanese and thai its not such a great place.

SERVICE- The service was very nice and the staff was extremely helpful.

FOOD-3.5/5(a few extra points for the baskin and robbins icecreams)
SERVICE-4/5
AMBIENCE-4.2/5
VFM-4/5
COST ON WEEKDAYS FOR LUNCH -RS 650 per head

I would suggest that its a good place for a nice evening and the ambience is really good, also go there if ur a fish lover,if u want to try something different, and the pricing on weekdays is also decent considering the various options to eat.So all in all a good place not with global fusion but more of southeast asian fusion.

cheats!

i had been to global fusion before and had loved it..so when a friend from bangalore said he wanted to try some exotic food...this was the place that came to my mind. not to mention that it was already 11 pm and this place is right next door.
we were four of us, and two of my friends took the buffet. since i had already had dinner, i just ordered for a glass of chateau rose wine. it took a really long time, and then i noticed the bartender pouring a glass of MADERA rose..he saw me looking at him, and he was zapped!! when the waiter came to take my glass, the bartender asked him not to..since he knew he had goofed up big time!! teying to pass of Madera for Chateau!!
When i asked to have a look at the bottle of Chateau, the waiter told me "ma'am, its Madera"..We then summoned the manager and told him about this absolute malpractice..God alone knows how many people they must be cheating like this and making money!!! the manager profusely apologised..and we decided to end the matter when he offered me a glass of Sula Zinfadel instead
We called for the bill...and they also charged us for the wine! Shameless I say!
So while I can vouch for the amazing food, please make sure you stand at the bar counter if you have ordered a drink...who knows they might be giving u white mischief instead of absolut!!
CHEATS!!

Great place for shushi lovers...

I visited the restaurant on a saturday evening (make sure youcall up and make a reservation before ) and it was packed to the hilt. We had to wait a while , but the wait was well worth it . The range of Stuff is just awesome !! its mainly a fusion of chinese and japanese food , with a nice sushi bar thrown in. The types of sushi available would be around 10-15 types and they all taste great. Not to mention the wasabi paste and the soy sauce that you get as dippings. I had around two rounds of starters and i really didnt have place for more . So i skipped the main course altogether. For desserts they have a variety of bite sized cakes and of course ... unlimited servings of baskin robbins icecream !! From time to time they keep serving you some piping hot jasmine tea to wash it all down with . All in all ..a really great experience if you love sushi. My only disappointment was that they didnt have Saki (japanese rice wine) , which goes really well with sushi. Still, I would highly recommend this place to all the sushi lovers out there.

Chinese Authenticity

Well, to start with, Global Fusion is a place meant for Chinese lovers. Beginning from normal chicken fried rice to authentic Chinese dishes like sushi, it consists everything. You can select from a wide variety of starters with the main course on buffet, the best variety of desserts and to end the meal a cup of refreshing green tea. You have the best variety of Chinese food with over a 160 dishes to choose from. The ambience gives you the effect of having your meal in China. Reservations are a must if one wishes to dine on a weekend. The concept of fine dining with a buffet system is very impressive. The co-ordination and the service of the staff towards their customers are extraordinary. The restaurant being a little pricy doesn’t matter when one is offered a great deal of choice and variety of food. This is a restaurant worth giving a visit.

Best VFM buffet in Mumbai

Ecogrub’s – VFM choice – RPPP – Rs. 750 + taxes for a buffet spread of a lifetime. Must visit if you have the budget and if you have the budget you are better off splurging it here than elsewhere for Chinese / Asian food.

It maybe 750 + taxes but with spread of maybe around 50 + individual varieties unlimited soft drink or fresh lime soda this is absolutely VFM. This is really the hoggers’ paradise, especially if you like sea food and sushi. Considering this is unlimited sushi @ 750 its a real steal is far far better than Aromas of China buffet @ 650 /-which doesn’t have sushi and the spread there being may be a third of the Global Fusion Spread.
Love the décor of the place, perfect for a family outing rather than a quite place for 2. The entire restaurant is extremely large and I believe occupies the entire floor plate of the mall.
The refill frequency is great and the dumplings authentic and the fish fresh. I’ve only had better authentic dumplings at Kamling @ churchgate where they make dumplings the true Chinese way in pork only. The lobsters and prawns in oyster sauce were too good and the tepenyaki counter with the fish fillet was an absolute treat. There wasn’t a mediocre dish on the counters. Must tries are the chicken winglets if being served.
Only negative – no pork.
The seating comfortable and staff very courteous. I was more than satiated after the meal.

Great Food but expensive

The food out here is awesome and has a wide variety of fish(sushi, tuna etc) and chicken and shrimps...but the pricing is a bit high 827/- for dinner on weekends and 720/- for dinner on weekdays. Ambience is very nice. But I doubt the VFM factor.

Best Buffet in town,,,,,

I have been to this restaurant so many time that I can close my eyes and roam in here.

Starting with variety : I bet you will never be able to eat all the starters they have here, The quality is awesome and superb.

Ambiance : The Ambiance is awesome and a vary spacious restaurant.

Go for lunch and in week days as they have higher rates for dinner and weekend lunch/dinner.

I would like to suggest that they should reduce their dinner cost a bit because it becomes very expensive.

Overall good food great experience and also a memorable place for food lovers.

Asian Fusion......

A place that was not even on my radar over the last one year. One day a lovely lady from Delhi who had visited the place a couple of time, took me there. The address did not prepare me for the restaurant. The Pagoda, high ceiling place with water tinkling into the pool was a refreshing.

With only one table being occupied, we decided to sit near the pool, with me voicing my misgivings about nobody around there.

Then began my education. We selected the starters, different kind of chicken, basa, rice cakes, some vegetarian mixed stuff, different kinds of dumplings......on and on and on.....the starters went, accompanied by a couple of beers it felt that I had put on couple of kilos and Mains were really far....

So, we did the next best thing and opted for the variety of bite sized desserts followed by the lovely baskin robbins ice cream scoop.

This place is totally paisa vasool the variety offered is worth the value price, helped bythe ambience, helpful staff creating an overall experience. I need to return quickly with my family soon.

AND Yes with half hour the place was packed!

Good place with poor food

I been to this place 2 weeks back, I was impressed by seeing ambiance but when it came to food I was really disappointed. Starters were average..more of japanese..varieties of sushi.. half of the starters look n taste were more or less similar only...drink service was fast and staffs were very cooperative.. But when it comes to main course, it was horrible..very few choice..half of them were tasteless and not even warm on saturday nite around 11p.m. Overall it does not have worth going there for weekend buffet. better to try 4-5 star hotels buffet

For Hardcore Non-Vegetarians

Global Fusion is for those who only indulge in non-veg food, definitely not for vegetarians as there is not much scope! To begin with, the ambiance is very good. We got a nice cozy table with gushes of water flowing beside us.
The best time to be in this place is 8 pm to 11:30 pm so that we have ample of time to try most of the items on the menu!
I started off with Sushi's. Now, if you do not have any knowledge about Sushi's, I would suggest, try out every non-veg sushi on the platter there.
The live food counter also has lot of variety. There are dim-sums, jumbo fried prawns, roasted chicken etc. Skip the main course menu and indulge in starters. Its worth the try!
There are lot of deserts ( pastries, ice-creams etc ).
The buffet menu is priced approx Rs. 650 on weekdays and Rs. 750 on weekends; not very high priced for non-vegetarians!

This place is worth a second visit.
Shall be visiting this place soon for the 3rd time since last year. :)

Huge place! Good food!

I'd come for a birthday treat over here. Had Sushi for the first time! Very impressed with the variety they had. Loved the Sweet Buns which tasted and looked a lot like a Maharashtrian preparation that's done during Ganpati - Ukadiche Modak. Buffet was amazingly good. One star less because there wasn't much variety in the non-veg section in the buffet. Hope they look into this ASAP! Ambience is amazing! Ideal for a big family get-together. All in all, very good place! :)

Exceptional Food Quality

Food Quality: 5/5
Food Quantity: 5/5
Food Variety: 3/5
Deserts: 3/5
Service: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
Music: 3/5

Unlimited everything! If you're a Sea Food Freak, you don't wanna skip this joint. The ambience epitomizes class so don't underdress. Self Service. Not much of a variation in meats. A lot of variety in Sea Food. Expect the regular stuff when it comes to the other meats.

Desert is unlimited baskin robbins with a few pastries and mouse. The reason i scored this a 3/5 is because the deserts end quickly and you have to wait until they make the next lot. They need to always be prepared. There's only 3 tracks we heard in the whole 3 hours we spent there. Soothing beats but they could throw in a variation. A 1 time visit could do good. The menu's don't change.

I'd recommend you calling them and asking the price per person inclusive of VAT and tax.

This used to be one of the most wonderful places to eat in Bandra.

Went there last weekend for the Sunday Lunch. There is serious deterioration in the quality of the food. Most of the stuff appeared stale or overcooked or both.

Even the fresh lime soda was not well made.

Can't remember eating this less in a buffet. My wife and me, were both feeling sick in our stomach on our way back.

Extremely Poor

let me come straight to the point!!!
the food is at best on the mark, anything coming fresh out of the kitchen tastes good, whatever is on the buffet, you may want to give it a pass.
the service is REALY POOR. The moment we sat down there was no waiter however there were many in sight, we had to actually wave someone down to come speak to us and get a beverage menu.
THERE WAS NO ORIENTATION TO THE BUFFET/SERVICE SEQUENCE ETC. beat that.
we were left to fetch for ourselves over the ealborate spread.
now comes the highlight, we asked for some green tea, incidentally we were sitting on table 18 which is right next to the bar counter. we saw the bartender switch on a kettle and put some water into it, then comes another waiter and put a can of coke inside the ketttle to warm it up (possibily trying to warm it to serve at room temperature). the waiter comfortably takes out water from the same kettle, puts it in the tea pot and brought it to our table!!!! OH MY GOD!!
Not Hygienic AT ALL!!!!!! guys wake up and smell the coffe. Even after informing the manager, not even an apology was extended.

not a professionally run operation...AT ALL

Raw fish is good fish!!

Food
I've had sashimi in a lot of 5 stars in Bombay and the bad deal is this - a lot of times, the fish has been kept out for so long that the ends start darkening. It's not a health risk, but it sure isn't nice for the eyes. This is where Global Fusion takes the cake. Fresh sushis and sashimis being prepared in an open kitchen for everyone to see. If you love sushi, come to Global Fusion! However, the place is packed on weekends and so you'd have a better time if you came here on a weekday. Not only is the service better, but I think they also end up making better wasabi when there are less people around.

For the first 3 times that I came to Global Fusion, we didn't even know there was a main course section. We would hog on sushi and have some cooked starters and jump right into the desserts. The day we realized though, it didn't change anything for us! We always skip the main course, coz well, that you can get anywhere - Global Fusion is for sushi!

And I kid you not...the sushi is mindblowing...and the wasabi is one of the best I've had! Brings tears of joy to my eyes! The sashimi is always in the freshest of colors and the tempura sauce is just perfect. The squids are so fresh they almost look alive. The only thing I cannot seem to like is the unagi, but that's just a taste bias.

Buffet Variety
To start with, there are about 5-6 types of vegetarian sushis and some 15 types of non-veg (including seafood and chicken) sushis. California maki is my favourite and is sprinkled with different colors of fish eggs. I can get full just thinking of the colors! There are also 4-5 types of sashimi. On the side, there are small bowls of cold vegetarian / seafood / meat / poultry dipped in vinegar in various preparations.

On another counter are the starters - some 20 of them! Each dining table comes with some numbered clips. The starter counter has representative dishes, with a bowl in front of each dish. If you like the look of a dish, you put your clip in the bowl and go back to your seat. The dish gets prepared and reaches you within 5 to 10 mins. This is usually a range of Japanese, Chinese and Conti-Chinese dishes.

I have never tried the main course, but it consists of Chinese dishes - fried rice, noodles, some manchurian and the type. This is basically for the people who have come to Global Fusion with their sushi loving friends but want to eat regular Chinese.

Finally, for desserts, they have about 12-15 types of pastries and 8-10 types of ice-creams to choose from. Yumm!

Service
Service is good, what with the clip putting in bowl and food reaching your table in 5 minutes. However, I have sometimes found it difficult to catch the waiters' attention and I really hate having to wave my hand out. Also, these guys don't serve regular water at all. It's always mineral water. No, they don't charge you for it, but how much waste does multiple 500 ml Bisleri bottles per table create in a day? Did you know that It is estimated that world-wide, over 150 billion bottles of water are manufactured and sold each year. Of these, only 1 out of 5 makes it to a recycling bin, with the rest littering streets and filling up landfills.

Ambiance
Apart from the nice pool of flowing water that runs in the middle of the restaurant, what I love is the crowd. You always get a whole mix of ethnicities around the world coming here for a meal. Last I went, there were Arabs, Koreans, Caucasians and of course, Indians - all under one roof, all enjoying their sushi :)

Value for money
There is no ala-carte here and it costs Rs. 750 + taxes per head, which is quite expensive, but totally worth it. At least considering that sushi has not made it into mainstream yet. So in that price, you get unlimited sushi, starters, main course and dinner. Plus a choice of drink between Iced Tea, Fresh Lime Soda or any colas. Alcohol is served, but charged separately.

Location
Bang in the shopping district of Mumbai - Linking Road, Bandra - it's the easiest choice of place to go for a good meal after some healthy shopping!

And in conclusion...
If you can't stand the thought of raw fish, please skip this place. Or else, you'll be cursing me for the rest of your life! Sushi is awesome once you've been able to open your mind to it. And wasabi is something you just have to try at least once before you die! The best thing about sushi, though, is that no matter how much you hog on it, you never go to sleep feeling apologetically full and always wake up the next day feeling as light as a feather!

Liked the Food

Global Fusion is your indulgence place , In terms of money and time , Its not a place you want to rush your meal. Explore the food , enjoy the ambience and the service. Its a starter heavy place , so dont be dissapoitned to see a limited main course. Loved the Desserts . If your are opting for an ice cream , ask the waiters for thin biscuits - they go really well with tce creams. Some really tasty vegetarian food too. So all in all a good dining experience

Cockroach in the Dessert

Yesterday i went second time to global fusion and was terribly disappointed. There was a cockroach in the mud chocolate cake and when we asked to see the senior manager he arrived and started questioning us and when we insisted it was in the food he left never to return again.

The junior staff was polite, apologized and promptly replaced the desserts. I really don't think it is worth spending time, energy and money for such unhygenic food.

ASIAN FUSION. NOT "GLOBAL".

Konnichiwa!

After all those recommendations, peer pressure and repeated humiliations for not experiencing Global Fusion yet, I decided to finally prevent homicide by going there. I couldn't wait to stuff myself with unlimited sea food, which is also known as 'buffet' in civilized, non-bhookad terms.

Yes, you got that right. I did say UNLIMITED SEA FOOD.
Now put your tongue back in your mouth, will you?

Firstly, let me wish you luck to find this place if you haven't heard of it at all.
Global Fusion is inside Link Square Mall, on the top floor.
Where is this Link Square mall, you wonder? Hmm, precisely my point.

Anyway, here are a few tips to find the place:
- Inside KFC's lane.
- Opposite Firangi Paani.
- Same mall where Mumbai Times Cafe is, but different entrance.
- Same lane where Bombay Blue, Mini Punjab & Hokey Pokey exist.

If you still don't find it, poke yourself in the right eye, enact any scene from Bhansali's Black and go home immediately. And if you do, make a fool out of yourself by paying Rs. 40 to park your car and think for the next 2134 years about a safe option to park on Linking Road.

Now, let me justifiably warn you about how misleading the name is. It should've been Asian Fusion. Because as far as I remember, Japan and allied chinkis haven't conquered over the world yet. If you love sushi, dimsums, tenpuras, etc., you'll wish to marry their chef. Even if that person belongs to the same sex.

They have around 35 to 40 different types of vegetarian and non-veg starters to offer, ranging from fried king prawns, steamed dumplings, teriyaki chicken, stir-fried mushrooms & onions (my favorite) and any other ping-pong-sing-a-song-ding-dong dish you could think of.

The standards have dropped

When I first went to Global Fusion, it was one of the best epicurean experiences ever, and I couldnt stop raving about it, and couldnt wait to get back. But this weekend when I went back with great anticipation I was really dissapointed. The standards have dropped. The Sashimi wasnt fresh, the clear soup (which used to be unbelivebly subtle - the type that can be made only from really really good stock) had a layer of oil floating on it, The staff were completely unable to cope with the huge crowd, and many of our orders from the live counter failed to arrive at our table. And the momos were doughy. The sushi though was great, so I left the restraunt happy, but with an unsatisfied yearning for clear dumpling soup. I really hope that this experience was just a fluke, and the next time I visit (because I will definitely go back) the standards will be what they were when the place first started. Untill then I will keep dreaming about that delicious soup, and the perfect momos, and the salmon sashimi...

Great place for trying out different types of food.
if you are bored of always eating moughlai.. head to global fusion.
am sure you would enjoy the experience.
was surprised even veg foodies had lots of choices.
no doubt the starters, salads and the sushi spread takes preference over what else this place offers.
nice ambience especially in the side of the restaurant where the starters and the sushi spread is kept.
The service is not great but I saw the place fully booked .. and that’s when the service lagged ..
would recommend all to try this great place.

Hyped up ... average food

Well its VFM for those who love oriental cuisine and seafood but taste is very average. The fried dishes are good but I cannot say the same for steamed or dishes like Sushi / Sashami. The latter best avoided as its by far the worst I have tasted in the city. Likes the pomfet and prawn dishes ... could not have the main course as we were too ful with multiple rounds. Food Adventure

If there were Foodie adventure trips to be signed up for, the restaurant in question today would be leading the pack.

Global Fusion is a Specialty Asian/South East Asian restaurant located bang on a Linking Road corner in Link Square Mall opposite KFC. The Restaurant is buffet only and though I found it strange for a restaurant not to offer an a la carte menu, it all made sense once the evening was over.

The first thing you notice while entering are the buffet prices mentioned above the reservation desk. Depending upon which day you are there at and whether for lunch or dinner will decide how much you are going to fork out for this gastronomic experience. The Weekday Lunch is priced lowest at Rs. 570/-, followed by the Mon-Thu dinner at Rs. 720/- and Fri Dinner + Weekends raking it in at Rs. 850/-, all exclusive of taxes. This includes unlimited mineral water, iced tea and soft drinks while liquor can be ordered separately. Though at first glance the pricing looks prohibitive, for those who are patient it all falls into place around mid way through the meal.

As you are led to your table, first thing you notice is the cavernous space that suddenly opens up to you. High roofs, an art deco Chinese pavilion, running water channels and multiple sections add an element of space and relaxation.

Soon it’s time to get up and check out the exotic spread laid out for your benefit. I suggest taking a walking tour along the tables looking at all the options before grabbing a plate. You would need to pace your meal and it’s practically impossible for a normal person to try everything on offer.

You can choose from multiple soups, sashimi’s, dumplings, tempura, Fritters, raw papaya salad and Spring Rolls. Made to order Stir fried starters, sticky rice and the star at every sitting, Sushi. Believe me when I say am just scratching the surface here when it comes to variety. I also loved the fact that it was extremely vegetarian friendly with every dish including sushi having equal number of vegetarian items and variants. While most of the items are self service, some of them will be made fresh and brought to your table. The main course served in the adjoining section is another delectable affair with Thai curry, rice, noodles and other meat, sea food items. Though definitely at above average levels I would still prefer to stuff myself on the starters and jump straight to desserts.

The Dessert corner is a variety of unlimited cakes and pastries with believe it or not an unlimited Baskin Robbins Ice Cream corner. Forget those miniature tasting spoons, here you can indulge your taste buds with unlimited cups of every flavor but only if you still have space left in your stomach that is. Though the dessert counter lacks in variety the unlimited Ice Cream more than makes up for it.

In my mind what really works for the restaurant is that they take away the question of money right at the beginning. With the still experimenting and testing Indian crowd there are times when ordering from a menu makes one wonder if what one is ordering is going to be good or not, hope it doesn’t get wasted, etc. This turns off most of the people from venturing out and trying new stuff especially at specialty restaurants and they end up ordering the tried and tested stuff. Since money is taken out of the equation right at offset, you can try every exotic item as many times as you like and if not to your liking move on to the next one. Consequently, it was quite entertaining to see my companion experiment with wasabi and its surprising bite. Once you realize the exclusivity of dishes that the restaurant is offering and think about what they would cost had you ordered them individually the buffet price suddenly seems very reasonable or for that matter even cheap. Whatever it is worth, it is definitely value for money.

It’s very rare that an establishment blows you away with what it has to offer and everyone I have talked to who has been there shares the same opinion. I definitely would be visiting them again and I hope that this review makes you do that at least once.

The best of the best!

....Classy, spacious and rich interiors that compliment the enornous banquet that awaits you.
.....Eat 'till you drop, and a bit more...With plenty of choice, you are assured the best quality, the freshest food, and prompt service.
....The first place in mumbai, where you can find good quality and affordable japanese (sushi, sashimi)!....
...I do have one complaint though...Everytime I go there, it seems that the only thing I can talk about is the unbelievable value for money experience i'm getting ;)

Gastronomical

Big nicely done place with good pricing and large variety is what i can say. Visited it twice first experience was good second time not so good in fact had to change my seating cause it was hot where they put us second the tokens were missing from our table with the table number and used token from the adjoining table that was strange for me. Food i can is quite good you really have to have a appetite to find the best dish among all thats available and still manage some space in your stomach for the main course. Overall Good place i might say the but really need to train there stall on good behavior.

Once in a month

Excellent experience all round..... As some others have mentioned, the same menu is repeated daily so go there once in a month so that your mind, tongue and stomach have forgotten the earlier experience and you can enjoy it all over again.... I have told them again and again to change the menu but to no avail. However, this does not take away any credit from the quality of food served... just wish we could see some new dishes once in a while... Recommend the Sushi, Sashimi and Dimsum..... yummmmmmmm....

Loved this place

This place is amazing for food lovers. This place has sort of a buffet. After you are seated the hostess will explain what to do. Each table has these clips that has your table numbers. you go to the live cooking area and you will see samples of the dishes available. You clip your table no. on the dish you like and in 10-15 minutes it will arrive on your table cooked. All the dishes are small portions but it is unlimited. There are ready dishes like sushi, salads etc that you can take to your table. The small portions is a great concept then you can try everything if you have the capacity. So my advice is that if you plan to came here skip lunch, it is totally worth the wait. And for the deiters you can forget your diet for a day.

Enjoy

Excellent Sushi !!!

One of the finest sushi i ever had in mumbai.

Food : Excellent ( Great Starters, Main course ok, Desserts suck big time) - but i am not too much of a cake fan.
Price : 650 /head (all inclusive) Friday-Sat-Sun
Interiors : upto mark
Parking : Pay and Park...which was good but i did anticipate no parking so most of us went by Ricks

they have a Sushi and Sashmi buffets, some dumplings, tempura's - which is good enough - about 30 to 40 different items which they keep rolling...

Good part is Buy 2 beers one FREE

Enjoy

Very impessive layout and spread of food

Been to the place yesterday.... The entry at the gate was narrow but the valet were there and they were well groomed and trained...the lift and the entry to the retaurant was grand ...the layout & the ambiance was impressive & spaciuos....the food was spreaded lavishly & was very good quality..
Only minus point I would give was the self service and no ala carte..
we had sat inside and the place was very noisy needs more carpets and furnishings to absorb the nosie...
Since it was more of self service there was no fix waiter to order from items like drinks etc...
Overall the place is superb and the food variety to suit all the taste buds...
one should not miss the experience of the Sushi Teppanyaki, Thai japneese ....

Excellent ambience, great sushi - must visit!

Excellent place. Love the buffet style concept. Finally a place in B'bay where you can find good sushi at affordable prices. The Dimsums and steamed fish starters are delicious. With the varied choice of sushi and starters, I've never felt the need to touch the main course! Nice, pleasing ambience and attentive service. Best part is, this is truly value for money. Highly recommend it for the chinese/japanese food lovers.

Sushilicious

Might I start my pointing out that the name "global Fushion" is absolutely misleading, as the place serves east asian food. chineese and japanese. But it's worth every penny and makes you want to keep coming back for more.
No where else in Mumbai will you get Sushi at such affordable prices ( well its expensive, but sushi is expensive ). The dimsum selection is mouthwatering and the soups are delicious. go on a weekday afternoon to enjoy some space without having to elbow fellow buffetiers out of the way.

Unique feature : I would ordinarily never go for buffets, I have the idea of roaming around with my plate. But GF allows u to select the dish and it is brought to the table, best of both worlds, see your food and get it too.

Please go........
my advice : avoid main course , binge on sushi, dimsum and desert.

Great place great food

Most reviewers have said it all , would also like to that there is a great choice for the veg as well. I am sure they would not feel that they have come to a place which is all about non veg food .

Brilliant place , great ambience , keep some place in your stomach for the main course as well.

The burmese curry is fantastic and so are pepper crabs

Good, but not mindblowing

The first drawback is that you need to pay Rs. 40 to park your car in the compound... After paying 800 odd bucks, per person the least you want is Valet

The starters are lavish and really tasty. A very good spread of sushi, dimsums, tenpuras and what not... does give you the feel of something unique and different.. the complimentary Iced tea was not good at all

The main course was disappointing. Not a single gravy for veggies to have with noodles!!! that too after spending a fortune. Even non veg main course was passable but nothing to write home about.

Having gone there twice, its not a place I would crave to keep visiting.

worth going once, after 2nd you may pass

If you haven't been to Global fusion, worth going once, but you may not necessarily go again. The landscape is large covering the span of a mall in bandra. It has the typical 5 star chinese restaurant appeal and quite a bit more. Food quality was fair but nothing to write home about. Hate to say I filled my stomach with 31 flavors mint chocolate chip ice cream and their shrimp starters. Others are good, but again nothing special. Main course is not worth going to even during previous visits. I give 2 star as it is worth going once with probably the best buffet/all you can eat layout I have seen amongst chinese foods.

Downhill all the way

I had been to this place shortly after it opened and then again a couple of times because I had liked it so much! BUT each time I have been there, the quality of food and service has been deteriorating. The spread of food is amazing, but this time the food wasn't up to the mark at all, it was downright disgusting. We didn't even get all that we ordered for and my favourite prawn tempura was in short supply, to the extent to which there were fights at the counter!! The dumplings arrived cold, half my orders didnt arrive and the other half, well I had to gulp down because I spent so much money. The place is overcrowded to the extent that the dessert counter looked like a railway ticket counter. Only saving grace was the b n r ice cream...A sad demise of one of my fav places in bandra...

A fast food restaurant

If you want to try authentic Chinese & Japanese food, it's not the right place to go. Crowded guests make it impossible to serve delicacies. Sushi is tasteless, sashimi is unfresh, dimsum is like dimsum only in the shape. The food there are dead, they don't have spirit, they are made by hand, not by heart!

Amazing Experience

All the previous reviews have been written so well, there is hardly anything left to add.

What I would recommend is that you go there early and try to acquire a table in the main dining area as it has the best feel/decor.

The more the merrier, we were a group of 10 so we all had the opportunity to taste most of the menu item, as we were literally eating off each other's plates.

Also I was glad to know that even fresh lime soda, Ice tea, green tea etc... are unlimited in the buffet.

We were only charged for the cocktail/mocktail ordered otherwise.

It is true that for the icecreams they just have B&R, but they also have a wide variety of pastries, Jelly, Cookies etc... all in small pieces so you can taste almost all of them.

The staff is truly generous in providing the best service.

Food was Great, the Price was bad

So, I went today for lunch and had a great time the food, the service was wonderful and the desserts too, but when the bill came in I was surprised they added a Sat-Sunday Brunch rate to the bill saying that its a Public Holiday, which I didn't mind paying

But

1. They should've informed me when i walked in
2. I wasn't told about the complimentary drink with the buffet
3. When I asked them in the end after paying the bill, they accepted that they had complimentary drink

Girly Evening out in Global Fusion

The day before Womens day I with my 2 colleagues made an after office impromptu plan and landed in Global Fusion, Linking Road. The place was packed, but we got a table. We walked through the lines and lines of the ELABORATE buffet spread and was thoroughly enjoying every moment of it. So much of good food!
The starters were awesome. I loved the sushis, dimsums, prawns, chicken in short whatever I ate. We all were having a girly evening out and while talking and laughing our hearts out, had so much of the starters that there was no place for main course! However I would not recommend that personally. The spread in main courses looked good. Also please keep enough space for dessert. The array of mousses, pastries and cakes are awesome.
The ambiance is good, well lit and the decor is superb.

One of the best Buffets in Mumbai

Global Fusion has one of the best all round buffets in Mumbai. The spread is large and includes the largest number of vegetarian and non vegetarian starters than one can think of, from japanese sushi, to indian kebabs and chinese momos. The ambiance is great and we love the decor. The vast expanse ensures that alot of people can fit, without it being too crowded. And the price is absolutely value for money. For just under/ over 1000 bucks a head (depends on lunch/ dinner and weekday/weekend) you just can't go wrong with this place.

Whether it is for a family dinner, or catching up with friends, or even a semi-formal meeting, this place is the place to go for a scrumptious meal. One of the all time favorites for us foodies.

The world at ur palette

To most Food enthusiasts this place might not need an introduction. My review goes for those who have not yet. I am hoping that some quick tips acquired out of my innumerable visits would help them.
Few hours after I left this restaurant on my first visit I swore – NEVER AGAIN !! Too many things to choose from and I ended up almost killing myself. Few weeks later some coaxing and cajoling saw me landed up there. And no looking back since then. My craving for oriental cuisine including bland Japanese is well taken care of by the Global Fusion in Bandra. Very conveniently located opposite KFC on Linking Road in Bandra West, their layout is huge and my favourites are table 15, 17, 18 beside the pool.
So Tip#1 - Visit this place if you love oriental cuisine as 80% of the dishes are oriental (read not spicy) and if you can eat a lot!
They have the largest buffet spread – definitely more than 100 items. Your first visit can be tough (like mine) ending up eating almost everything. But next visit onwards you will grow wise and now go by method of elimination.
Tip#2 – Before picking up the plate or start ordering for the starters, it is better to go around the whole floor and sum up mentally which ones to must have. Advantage is that their menu barely changes so you can always try something next time that you skipped this time.
Tip#3 – Specifically mention number of pieces/smallest portion when ordering starter. Since there are so many too much of one dish will be a waste. Note, my tips are more for small family/group of 3-4. If you are a big group chances of wastage will be less.
By the time you complete starters one is almost full. Hence the Sushi counters and main course counters are less crowded. The Sushi counter is my favourite where you get some amazing cold cuts like Octopus, Salmon, Tuna etc. Besides there are maki rolls, sushi, pickles, salads etc.
Tip4# - This section has items that are least spicy(read bland) healthy and tasty(opinion may vary). If you are not one of those to eat raw fish or cold cuts try out the salads(raw mango, green papaya etc) and pickles.
Next stop is the main course which is a mix of indian and oriental. No tip here, go as you feel like. All dishes are tasty, especially the crab, prawn and sautéed vegetables.
The dessert section has lots to choose from. Various flavours of Icecreams, pastries, jellies, cookies, brownie in hot chocolate sauce alongwith indian items like gulab jamun, gajar/kaddu ka halwa! Tip#5 – Assuming that you have a sweet tooth save some space for those small bite of pastries, mini scoop of ice cream or gulab jamun.
If you have guest who likes oriental this place is a good choice as you do not end up scratching head on what to order for. If you have kids there’s lots of floor space for them, especially the pool with fishes. If you are in a big group they have long tables and enclosures to arrange sitting. Overall I like the ambience of Bandra than Andheri East. On my only visit I felt the Andheri restaurant is more to cater to vegetarian guests and the layout is not as big and appealing as Bandra. Since I have visited on several occasions (New Year’s Eve, Christmas Eve) I noticed they introduce some special items. This Christmas Eve they served baked Oyster which came in Oyster shell instead of the baked mussel that they serve through out the year.
My favourites are crabmeat soup, all types of dimsums and wontons(especially prawn), sticky rice, baked prawn, baked mussel, lamb, squid, prawn teriyaki and Fish Tikka in starters, the whole Sushi counter, Crabs, Prawn and sautéed vegetables in main course and every item in dessert!

The staff including floor Managers are very attentive and responsive though starters may arrive bit late due to long queue of orders. And it always feels good when they recognize and even stop by just to say "Hello". While I appreciate the effort in efficiently managing the huge operations, lately I noticed some downslide in quality, especially housekeeping. Plates were literally dirty with dried food particles. I hope the Management is aware and careful of such issues to keep gaining repeat customers. All in all not one can say they left hungry

variety is the spice of life

Global fusion lives up to this quote entirely. their buffet includes upto 200 dishes, offering atleast 40 starters, 20 different types of sushi, frozen fruits, kebabs, jelly and their very own Baskin Robbins ice cream counter. The buffet price is about 1200 per person, with an outdoorsy themed ambiance. I thoroughly enjoy my experience every-time I visit GLOBAL FUSION.

Value for Money

I've been to Global Fusion four times and each time I've enjoyed my experience. The food available is varied and plentiful and made well. It might not compare to Five Star Quality, but is still excellent and to put it plainly, where else would you get perfectly good sushi for Rs900? My particular favourites are the stir frys, especially the mushrooms and the tenderloin teppenyaki, not to forget the prawn tempura.

The service too has been good if a rather aloof. Considering it's a buffet restaraunt, they don't really have much to do. But are prompt with requests for water and iced teas.

All in all, a place to visit if you crave sushi or if your in a large group and can't decide where to go.

Consistenty Fantastic

The first time i went here a few years ago with my family, we were all overwhelmed at the variety and quality of food.....the sushi counter was amazing
I go here at least once every 3 months....and i encourage everyone i meet to go here as well....the food is literally that good
even though i must have been here at least 20-30 time over the years without exaggerating- i have never gotten sick of the food coz thrs always sumthin new to try. I have till date hardly eaten the main course or the desserts coz the other counters are sooooo good
The service is also excellent and we have always had a really good time every time we go here. plus its really affordable for the amount of food available and u end up spending pretty much the same or even much more if u go to other sushi restaurants (which also have worse food)
Keep it up glo fu!

U need an empty stomach to enjoy this one

This is one of the best buffets in Mumbai even if you include the buffets at all the five star hotels in the city. The variety and quality of food is excellent. The sushi is great, and there are equal no of veg and non-veg dishes. The service is prompt and ambiance is nice. Couple of times I even skipped the main course as was too full with the starters and needed some space in my stomach to savor the BR ice creams and the desserts. Overall a great place!

OK, so i dont fancy buffets and japanese food would be the last thing on my mind. Yet i ended up here, somehow, just to convince myself of the deja vu. Well i was in for one of the tastiest surprises of all. The "to-die-for" starters, the deserts and the main cource, just bought a 5-star for you guys !!!. The beef tenderloin and the lamb chops were succulent and to have a BR counter, jus works for me. Keep up the good work and hope you come up with more joints. !!!

WOW Ambience!!!

Global Fusion had been on my list from quite some time.
Reservations were easy, unlike barbeque nation which is generally too crowded during weekends.
The first things that drove my attention was the ambiance. Its just WOW! I have not been to such a beautiful restaurant ever in town.
The menu is well equipped with an Asian fusion cuisine & all you need is a great appetite & enough time to taste them all. Food is good, tasty but not the best in town.
We couldn't even taste the main course due to time constraints.
I was a bit disappointed with the desserts as all of them were either frozen or baked. (most of them were pastries, cookies). Though they tasted great but was upset for not having found any good Indian dessert.
Otherwise, overall.. a great place to dine :-)

One of it's kind

I love Global fusion. Have been there a zillion times and it's always been a tummy full of awesomeness. The sushi as always was delicious. But the bbq lamb chops and the baked prawns were simply brilliant! We must have repeated the order for those two dishes at least thrice.

As always I skipped the main course and went straight for the ice creams. So I dont know what their main course is like.... i'm always too full with the starters to even peek that way. As for the desserts besides the Baskins' counter, the rest of the spread is not very interesting or tasty.

If there is one buffet in thsi city that is truly 'paisa vassol', it's at Global Fusion!!!

THE BEST BUFFET IN MUMBAI

I traveled all the way from Powai to Bandra just to experience this place .
And , the places has far from disappointed me .

The first things you notice are amazing ambiance , huge floor , live counters and unarguably best in town spread of Food ..

The spread had 24 different types of sushi and most importantly 12 of the were veg , giving good varieties to veg crowd as well ..

Prawns , crabs and chicken ..everything was scrumptious .

I was more than exhausted when i reached main course .

There are not many varieties in deserts .But , it matters least .
Do not miss Mango Tropicana in desert section ..Its something to die for ..I had three of then , even though i was full :D

Its best place for all occasions .And Weekday lunch deals are so cheap that they may put one in awkward position . ..

Bottom Line :Better than Marriott and Hilton Buffets ...MUST TRY !!!

Eat you heart out....

I actually meant that part.. u can eat as much as your heart pleases , but you still might not be able to taste everyhting that is on the menu here.
I personally like to taste everyhting once and for an indian with a tastebuds for continental and east asian cuisine , i loved to dine here every now and then.
The place is rather huge and has little problem of accomodating large groups. Has special place for such events too. Dinner can be a tad bit expensive compared to the lunch if we are in smaller groups of say four.
Service has been nice all the three times i have been here in last 4 months. Good ambiance and comfortable seating.
The splendid thing abt the desert is the baskin robins counter with a good bit of variety. its got everything you can eat and everything you cant too. Its a must go for food lovers everywhere. Nice to see such places coming up in mumbai.

Great buffet restaurant

If u want a world class experience; then Global Fusion is the place to go for it has an amazing buffet concept !!! The ambiance is simply mind blowing and the place is huge (given the constraints in Mumbai). The buffet provides large varieties of salads (both cold / hot), sushis and pastas and a huge options for live snacks in all options (veg, non veg - chicken & seafood) By the time u end up gorging the starters & salads varieties; u hardly have any appetite left for the main course and hence all the three times that I have been there, I haven't eaten the main course at all. But do have to mention, the main course options are not very exciting (maybe they have strategised themselves very well) At the end u have a large variety of dessert options both Indian sweets & cakes / pastries & also have a Baskin Robbin corner. They definitely have huge varieties in drinks as well though I have only tried the red wine. Kudos to the ever smiling servers.

Perfect for team visit

This place is like our team lunch adda. we eat here for almost every other team outing.
My favourite on the menu has to be sushi, prawn tempura, sugarcane chicken.

the place and the ambience are an absolute delight. the service also very good. you ask for something and the start will smile and give it to you.

Our usual bills come a lot so it cant say how much a meal for two.

food is really yum and the food is worth a visit.

Nice ambience and great food

We went as a large group of about 11 and the starters were excellent. The main course is just ok but the starters are all worth going for. And very few places in Mumbai serve excellent sushi like they serve and for that price.

Food & Friends... Life is Good

So we were invited for a birthday party at this venue.. i have been eating here at numerous occasions but wasnt aware that they have a hall for parties as well.. i love the oriental spread ..Seafood at its best..Also the special treat is the sushi which is really good.. the buffet is rightly priced and you always need a reservation here on a weekend specially because it does get very crowded..Nice hall to celebrate a birthday or any other occasion..

Awesome in many ways

This is probably the best loved buffet place in mumbai !!! It is huge so it is not exactly a date place, rather it is made for real foodies who just want to eat unlimited and huge groups. Starters are great and better than main course, sushi is a highlight if you like it just like my hubby does. Food is not gourmet level but bang on money and so you feel happy having come here, especially in a large group. Dessert counter is my favourite and the best is baskin robbins counter which everyone loves! Special mention for staff who is always helpful and polite!

Best buffet ever!

The price is just right for the amazing buffet on offer here because they just have the most amazing spread of dishes..especially the sushi that one gets here is mindblowing and the food just keeps coming! It is truly the best for someone like me who needs unlimited food to feel truly happy..and in the end there is desserts galore with a full baskin robbins counter which I don't like otherwise but here I cannot stop myself from having just about everything!
