Must go!

Looking for a place close to home for dinner and something which is classy and serves pan asian cuisine.. well this had to be the obvious choice.

This place is in Bavdhan and on the top floor of Aditya Shagun Mall. The only saving grace of the mall I think. The first thing you notice when you enter is that this place is that its enormous. The décor is done tastefully, with statues and murals decorating the place. There is a wall that boasts the awards for best restaurant for Pan Asian cuisine.

3 seating arrangements they have, but we chose the terrace option. With beautiful sculptures of Buddha and candle lights all over, the ambiance is just wonderful. The restaurant serves pan asian as well as north Indian cuisine and the menu is extensive.
Seated comfortably we order drinks and an appetizer. Bbq cottage cheese in Balinese sauce. Quantity is awesome and so is the taste. You get hit of sweet and tangy flavor at the same time. The cottage cheese is soft, yet chewy. The various bell peppers add that required taste to the dish. Now wanting to try something different and unique, we ordered pad Thai noodles with Thai green curry. Unusual combination, but it was amazing. Quantity was again more than enough for 2 people. Where the noodles were spicy, the Thai green curry was sweet. Together they made an amazing pair. Try this if you visit here. Quantity was so much that we had to get half of it packed (couldn’t leave such a lip smacking dish)

The cherry on the cake came when the owner, who got know that it was my birthday came up with a blueberry cheesecake lit up with a candle. Such a sweet gesture on their behalf.

Now few issues that I had with this place-
Being a fine dine restaurant, no napkins on table. Instead had tissues.

Can work on their cheesecake (moist but the base was not crumbly)

For 3 drinks, one appetizer, 2 main courses, we churned out 2300 inclusive taxes. A little expensive, but then they make up for it by giving you good service and ambiance.

Verdict- a must visit for special occasion and some good pan asian cuisine craving.

Sorry for the pics being not that great. :(

Superb Indian Food..Nice Place for Family

I had been here on 11th Feb on my Birthday for dinner with my family. We booked a table before going here. It is a complete family fine dine relaxing experience. We ordered three different soups i.e Manchow soup , hot n sour and tomato; all were really nice . In starters we asked for bhendi fry and also labadar; both were tasty. For main course we had paneer tikka , dal makhni and veg jalfrezi and butter naan. All were really mouth watering . After all this we called for desserts . And the cost of all of this was only Rs 2250 for 7 people . I'll highly recommend this hidden gem at Kumar Pacific mall, chandni chowk if you are looking for a fine dine Indian lavish restaurant.

Amazing Ambience!

Although its pretty much outside the city its still worth it because the ambience food and service are all amazing. I once had my college farewell party at Trikaya and that turned out to be a fab fab night. The central area was converted into a dance floor. Food was good too!! All in all an amazing time!

Great Food

Trikaya is one of the Best fine diners I have come across that offers a variety of cuisines. They sell you a very sophisticated fine dinning experience. Though it is a little bit on the expensive side, they still give you value for money. Worth a visit!

mixed taste

Went there yesterday with few friends for dinner. Ambience is good but service is very slow and pathetic. The asian food (chinese/thai) food served is good and has authentic taste. I felt the price was on the higher side. Each dish above Rs 350 ... Steam Rice for Rs 240 :)
Surprisingly it was rather empty for a friday night. Would I go back again? ... well .. for this price ... may be only once or twice in a year ....

Trikaya, good food but little bit expensive

Heard lot about trikaya, this restaurant was very much nearby my Pune house, after 2 years we got a chance to go there (occasion: my dad’s birthday), well trikaya did not disappointed me, we were welcomed by attendant, but instead of rooftop he gave us space / table which was very much near to entry / exit. Except that part, everything worked well, we got soups and salads as starters, soon our main course arrived, I tried thai curry (red) with rice, it was good. My parents and wife tried punjabi dishes those were good too. Entire bill (including tax) was 2500 (which is quite reasonable). Visited September 2012

Big disappointment....average food,tooo costly

Went at Trikaya on 5th Jan 2013.....
Impressed with Decor....toooo good...
But then big disappointment....regarding starter, service, hospitality, mocktails, too much darkness at outdoor and tooooooooo ,much overally priced
roof top area is toooo dark...they hv arranged 2 small candles (toooo small) which were not sufficient for 7 people table....
After requesting for extra candles , not consdiered this request...(surprising fact that hotel is not too much crowded but still can not manage one candle)
Now coming to starters, mocktails(Hall of shame):-rest starters are ok but one non veg starter (Lamb) is not at all cooked...it was too hard too bite it...
We requested waiter too chk out, he discussed with manager and then came to our table He tried to convince us that this dish is like that only...

Great...what way too foolish people...the whole dish is wasted.
Mocktails:-dont go for it...not at all worthy...specially "Mery's Mellow""- it is just 10rs watermelon juice which is far better
at juice shop no extra addition and costing 300rs..... :) ( quantity also very less)

main course is ok..
dessert again tooooooooo ,much overally priced.

now i came to know why people dnt prefer trikaya and why is it not famous in kothrud :)
Sincere request not to go their considering cost, quality

Excellent Variety and Good Bar

You can never go wrong with this place. There is a wide variety in A La Carte. And the bar is well stocked. He may not know how to pour a Stella, but he sure has one. Good food but a bit expensive.

One of the Best for Oriental Cuisine

If Oriental food is what you are craving for, Trikaya is the place to head to! The entire oriental menu is refreshingly different and offers a number of options for finicky people like me. The stuff is made from fresh and exotic ingredients which you can easily make out. Be it the BBQ Paneer with Balinese spices or the Tepanyaki grilled veg....there is no overlap in the taste and this is what is true for most of the menu. They have very good options in seafood and are available fresh around the year. Basa fish tikka and Prawns in Goan Curry are my favorites. Even the conventional North Indian food has been packaged in an offbeat manner.

I like the veg food here, the outside setting was nice. However, the service was way too slow and they could do something about the insects in the outer section.

An interesting place

My friend invited  me to this place on a warm Saturday evening. I was quite new to Pune then and did not know many good places in and around Pune. Given my friends description I put on some decent clothes and set out for Trikaya. This restaurant is set up in a mall called Aditya Shagun. Hearing this, I had my doubts but nevertheless I went ahead. When I reached, my doubts multiplied since the mall still looked quite dodgy :)
I parked and took the elevator and there was a complete transformation from what was below. The ambience took a complete u-turn and turned quite luxurious. There was an attractive small water body at the entrance welcoming foodies. Dark wood furniture and bright red tapestry with a rich Asian theme lend this restaurant an extremely attractive appeal.
My friends a carnivore fiend so he ordered some Asian seafood which disappeared before I could say 'wok'. I ordered some  veggie food that I wasn too enthusiastic about but surprisingly turned out quite delicious. Trikaya has a good selection of wines and spirits too for the tipsically inclined. They have an outside seating area as well which I'm yet to try. Everyone enjoyed their food including the veggies. A point though: this place is rather for carnivores - not that herbivores won't get anything, thy will - bu Trikaya loves its non veggie patrons.
I went subsequently with my wife and other folks who liked he food.
So, overall 4 out of 5, personal opinion because limited veggie - sorry :)
Ambience - Excellent
Food - Excellent non veg and veg. Though limited.

Good Dining, Relaxed Lounge. Exceptional Ambiance!

Been here couple of times and what brings me back is the Ambiance! Yes, that's the most fascinating facet of this restaurant. Very Very Big place overall, with a nice Dining and an Open Lounge Area.

The Vegetarian Food is of good quality and taste. Non-Veggies may have some different variety of preparations to try. The Mutton was a disappointment when the Chicken was just right and tender.

The Service was good enough and staff is very courteous.

A good place for Dinner and Drinks as you'll find none during Lunch Time. The location of this place works against it.

Nice to go once in a while.

Damn Expensive. Very low quantity. Average taste

The restaurant has 5 Star prices with simple Butter Chicken at Rs.450 with only 4 small pieces of chicken. Rest of bowl is filled with gravy. This strategy looks to me like a Cheap Indian Attitude restaurant. Cheating people. The quality of food is just average. It does has a very good ambience and large area. There is supposed to be a famous Chef Limaye. The hotel has spend good on interiors marketing themselves by putting the Burrp award and Times award posters. The interiors are the best in Bavdhan. But that doesn't mean you server very low quantity at the highest price.
The service is horrible. The waiters wont even look at you or entertain you unless you are Mahes Bhat or Millionaire. Average guys should stay away to avoid insults. It takes 45 mins to get s simple chicken dish with almost empty restaurant. I wander on busy days what time it takes. Or there are never busy days.

Absolute no value for Money spent. Unless your company is paying.

Me and my wife were just passing by when we came across this restaurant.
The time we entered, we were awed by the ambience and the interiors of this place.
The best part was the Food and there are no doubts in mind that we made a right decison by coming here.
For starters I ordered Chicken Dimsums, Spicy Crab meat soup and later went on to order Squid basil curry with Singapore noodles.
Quanity is good for 2 and taste is just sincilating.
I would say its little expensive, but worth

Nilesh Limaye's is missing from the credits !

Honestly,haven't visited this place as yet, since it is on the outskirts of the city; But plan to, since the well-known, unassuming ,and friendly Chef , also an anchor of a cookery show on Zee, has suggested it;
He also happens to be a partner for the venture,i suppose, and he should be given his due credit in the introduction.
Would add the review after visiting.

going back their.. need to think 10 times

the first look, everything was inviting and nicely done interior...but as the evening went by.. there was a face-off. the service was extremely lousy.. even for water.. we had to call more than twice.. the food was ok. i would'nt say bad, but also not good compared to the place and ambience created. the person attending, felt as if hes obliging us by asking if we want something more. which obviously was after we calling him four to five times to take the order. It was not a sunday, the place has few tables, for the attendee to act so uninterested...
well trikaya needs to know.. its a service industry, good interior can be fascinating once. Its the service and food that brings people back...

Decent food, bad & lousy service

I've been to this place 4-5 times, mostly for business lunches (because someone or company was sponsoring it). All times I've felt that they serve decent food in a good ambiance, but have a very lazy and uncaring service. I also feel that they are not real value for money - even their buffets don't offer as much as the others are same price.

Recently we went there again on a Sunday afternoon while returning from a weekend trip (most other restos were full). As always, Trikaya was mostly empty and we got a table easily. We decided to go for a-la-carte and ordered tom yum soup, a lamb starter and thai red curry with rice. We also ordered cocktails. Soup came quickly and was good. But then the waiting started. We waited for our drinks but they didn't come. They then bought the starter and the main course ... together! And even when our meal was almost over, they hadn't bought the drinks and so I asked the waiter to cancel our drinks order. He apologized for the delay, but still didn't get them. When I insisted on canceling the drinks, he muttered something angrily and went away. Our whole idea of having a few refreshing drinks after a long summer drive went down the Trikaya drain.

I always used to wonder why a resto with such good ambiance and celebrity backing (Chef Nilesh Limaye, Kunal Deshmukh and all) always had empty seats. Now I understand why - it's because of their lousy service and bad value for money.

Great Decor Bad Food

Went to Trikaya a few months back enjoy its Konkan food festival. The bad taste the trip left still lingers.

The stuffed Pomfret was not well fried. The accompanying mayonnaise based dips were the best dish that we had during that evening. The (fish) dish itself would have definitely been appealing as a medium rare fish dish (tasted in line with the original british fish and chips), but that was definitely not what I ordered. Then came the Surumai curry. It was a green curry that completely killed the taste of the fish in a chilli paste base. I had ambitiously ordered 5 Appams (the konkan version) to go with the fish. It was a struggle to eat through the dish. We did not even dare to order any deserts. The only taste the food left in the mouth was a burning green chilli flavor.

The decor of the place is superb. It will definitely be one of the best in Pune. The service was also very nice. It is a good place to take some unsuspecting foreign visitors if you are trying to impress them. But end of the day a restaurant should be judged by the quality of the food. Unfortunately it is in that quarter that Trikaya failed.

Good Experience

It was a good experience here at Trikaya...the food, the ambiance, the service you name it...and the waiters are ever so courteous.
Ofcourse all this comes with a cost. It's more on the expensive side so you should be expecting this if you plan to come here.
Approaching from chandni chowk...the restaurant makes the first impression with its beautiful exterior assuring you that you are entering a place with class.
The food as I said is good but provided in moderate quantity which maybe they could improve on.

Definitely, it's a place for a large group aiming at enjoying the night.

Other than that you will have a lovely time...I know I did...

Amazing Food

Trikaya served Indian cuisine from the moment we walked in to two month old South-East Asian resto-lounge, we were impress by the courteous service he helped my companions who was limping steward came and help him to get table. Trikaya has seating capacity of 200 people, it is a large restaurant and has Buddha statues and the place is homely. We tried everything from Trikaya crab claws, lollipop it was deep fried amount of crunch in it, the vegetable were spinach, okra, carrot and beans, then they gave us chilli and plum sauce which created sweet and spice tasty. We all were satisfied with our main course. I think burrps should visit this place called Trikaya.

loved the ambience

its great for people who love oriental food. the typical curries wid rice, the noodles wid great sauces..
try "veg kauswe" here..
the bar is especially nice with great cocktails..something new to try for every tastebud..

ambience is just amazing.. all oriental themed but not like the same old boring chinese themes.. its more of malaysian n indonesian n balinese side than chinese..

the lounge is separate in an open air layout.. with a beautiful view..dimly lit n great couches... i was dreaming about taking my boyfriend there before they shattered it by sayin that if you want to sit in the lounge, ur min bill must be at least Rs.2500.. so you can only go there if ur quite a no. of you or sure to drink n hog enough to cost you that much..

all in all.. a must go, at least once...
