Four Seasons Hotel, Dr. E. Moses Road, Worli, Mumbai

Good

The "three energies"...

San Qi, as written in the description, means three energies. This represents the three cuisines this new swanky wine bar and restaurant serve: Indian, Chinese, Japanese. Open tandoors and wok-tossed stuff is served downstairs while they fire up a Japanese robata grill up on the floor above.

The place apparently has been designed by the same folks that designed China House and Thai Pavilion, so unfortunately, this place has almost the exact same feel - nothing too unique (wine bottles on the walls, woody, Asian feel).

Although the skinnied-down menu is probably built for the power lunchers and deal-makers, the food here is great, with more inventive ingredients (salmon tikka, enoki mushroom momos, etc.). Service was warm, friendly, what you would expect at a five star.

Definitely a go-to place for all foodies, but warning: meals not available on lay-away!

Infiniti Mall Food Court, Link Road, Andheri (W), Mumbai

Excellent

bello gusto!!

That means "beautiful flavour" for all the Italian-challenged. This place has just some of the most amazing gelatos. I have had ciao bella in San Francisco and Amore is certainly on par with them. My favourite is the simple chocolate gelato. Just melts in your mouth!

Taj President, 90 Cuffe Parade, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai

Excellent

awesome lounge

Here is what I would call a great lounge - when people talk about good nightlife in Mumbai, this place should top our lists. Not a huge sized place like Poison, but just right. The only small complaint I have is they lack some consistency with their music. Other than that, classy crowd, good drinks and good music. Heard their pan-asian cuisine/starters are tasty too, but can't vouch for it.

Crosswords (below flyover), Mohammed Bhai Mansion, N. S. P. Marg, Kemps Corner, Mumbai

Excellent

fave quiet hangout

When I am in the mood to settle down with a great book over a tasty dessert and shot of espresso or cup of coffee, I retreat upstairs in Crosswords in Kemps Corner to this cafe run by the Moshe's people(which people have raved about on burrp). Although you might get a few youngsters sprinkled in throughout the day, this remains a true best for coffee, pastries or light lunch, in the comfort of a great bookstore!

JW Marriott, Juhu Tara Road, Juhu, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai

Poor

Gone downhill...so sad....

The saving grace of Enigma is that it still is the largest club in Mumbai, and it still has decent music. I couldn't agree with everyone else more - the crowd here has just gone to the pits. A bunch of wannabes, older folk, and shady characters. Surprising since I thought that the JW would have some quality standards about this. There was a time when Enigma was a rocking place, a young classy crowd could party until 5AM, and everyone was just having fun. Long gone are those days...I cry for you, Enigma....
