Please Don't Go!!

Mezzo Mezzo at the JW Marriot is a Terrible place to spend an evening out.

The fact that it was less than half empty when i walked in, is not half as Alarming as the food and service here are.

Once seated, we were presented with a Wine list - most of which was unavailable. Upon asking what was in fact available, the Sommelier recommended a bottle of a Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio as "a fruity medium bodied well rounded wine" but this wine had little to offer regarding fruit, flavor or body (which was very light ) - if gatorade was fermented it would taste of this wine.

I started my meal with some Beef Carpaccio which had the potential to be really nice, with the well seasoned meat, fresh rocket leaves and really nice Parmigiano reggiano. But then, there was the very Criminal use of a Hollandaise type sauce which just discombobulated my palate and me - a bad start.

Next, one of my companions asked our server to describe Parpadelle, which he failed to do, but dashed in to ask the chef and came back with "its like linguine".
Its bad enough that your server at a specialty restaurant cannot describe whats on the menu, but a chef not being able to tell you that Parpadelle is a half dried egg pasta (thicker and more chewy than linguine) is preposterous!!
So i decided to play it safe and ordered me a Prosciutto Pizza which was edible only after i doused it in olive oil and chilly flakes.

There were some more disasters.
A Grilled Prawn dish was served cold.
The tenderloin looked Unwell - i didn't taste it because of that.
Another Pizza was sent back because our confused server had got the order wrong.
And then there was the Chef who came out to chat and actually offered some Tobasco sauce when someone asked for their dish to be made spicy!!!!
Oh!! and this chef claimed to be the head chef, but his demeanor made me seriously doubt this, and on further investigation ( i have my ways) found out that he was in fact a trainee chef - the executive chef had a day off.

Average food. BAD service. Boring Decor. Prices are standard 5star rates.

People, i urge you to not waste a good evening here - Don Giovanni and Mangiferra, both in the vicinity, have a much better pizza and the former has a killer carpaccio.
