A/10 Gagangiri Apts, Next To Crepe Station, Carter Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Poor

Excellent location, so so food

I was quite excited to see a new place open up on Bandra's un-official khau galli! But when I visited this joint, I was very disappointed with the service and the food. Their menu seems quite eclectic with a wide variety of choices. I ordered a soup (awful) and a Chicken Stroganoff (yuck) - neither of which I finished. Nuff said.

Shop No 4, Silver Croft Building, Junction of 16th and 33rd Road, T.P.S. III, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Good

Awesome Punju Food

Khaane-khaas has some lip-smacking Punjabi food. Their Murg kali-miri with roomalis is to die for. The biryanis are awesome (I like the matkas they're served in). And the desserts are awesome too. I'm regular at take-away from KK (the place is not conducive to dining out).

And the owners are ever polite and helpful.

Calorie Care Nutrition Center, #603, 6th floor, Doctor House, 14 Peddar Road, (Opp. Jaslok Hospital), Dadar (E), Mumbai

Excellent

Amazingly healthy and tasty dabba @ your doorstep

Calorie Care is an excellent health food delivery service (read Dabba, Tiffin) and provides a calorie-counted meal delivery service.

They deliver freshly cooked meals to health-conscious individuals; each meal is calorie-counted and customized by their team suit the health goals and taste preferences of individuals. They deliver all meals in the day right at your doorsteps.

I've been using them for a while and here's how it works:

You are what you eat, so our team works very hard to make sure you eat right:

- Step 1: Calorie Care's team of nutritionists spends time with you to understand your health needs and taste preferences.

- Step 2: The nutritionist then designs a personalized food plan that caters to your needs and preferences (veg / non-veg, allergies, preferences, etc).

- Step 3: Their specially designed health kitchen dishes up these meals that adhere to your personalized diet plan and its calorie targets.

- Step 4: Their delivery team delivers these freshly cooked meals daily in three drops - one in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. All meals are delivered in hygienic, disposable packaging that ensures the food reaches you fresh and free from contamination.

CalorieCare is fantastic - It's like having your own personal chef, nutritionist and butler! Best of all, the food tastes great.

Plot No. 339, 16th Road, Nr. Linking Road, Linking Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Excellent

Shack ROCKS!

On the 16th Road, in Bandra, is the ever popular Hawaiian Shack. The crowd. the music, the snacks just rock. The drinks suck though... cos they're watered down!!! When I asked the server to get my alcohol and soda separately, she flatly denied, blaming the excessive crowd - huh? Honey, I'm paying 500 bucks a drink, and you'd better make sure I get what I paid for.

Other than that, Shack ROCKS!

Average

Townie attitude in suburban Mumbai

I reached Aurus on a Saturday night at 10 PM (without a reservation). After a 5 minute low down on how full they were with no tables till 11.30 PM, the door monkey finally decided to let us in and wait at the bar.

I must say the decor is very impressive - mood lighting, art deco loungey furniture and spacious tables with super comfy chairs. I especially liked the huge mirror that runs across the bar. We ordered drinks (frickkin' expensive) and looked around, and lo and behold - at least 60% of the tables were occupied by ghost patrons that ate invisible food. Or maybe they were just empty.

In the hour that we spent at the bar, not a single dinner patron entered the place. And we decided not to eat at this suburban joint with a townie attitude.

On our way out, the door monkey again gave us some spiel about his "second seating" starting at 11.30 PM "and that's when the people start pouring in", he said. Yeah, you wish.
