Step up for Andheri

Not bad for Andheri, which needs more places like this. Ambiance is a bit confusing, although they are trying to go for old school diner-chic. Would be a good place to congregate with friends over drinks in the corner-located bar, but this place was oddly populated with a few families with young children late on a Wednesday night. My waiter disappeared mid-speech while I was giving my order for no apparent reason and that made me pretty angry. I let it go, and the service for the rest of the night was palatable.

Food was decent. Ordered some mushroom soup, which had to have been packaged Maggi (not that it's bad); hummus, which was the winner of the night; and penne contadina. The pasta sauce was a bit too sweet and spicy. That made hard to enjoy. All in all, Andheri gives a good effort, but some work can be put into this place to make it better.

exellent chinese on flashy waterfield rd

If you feel like chinese food amongst the shi shi bandra youngsters and socialites, this is the place to go. Chinese food is very authentic and the place oozes class. Service could definitely use some help, but they do not tend to be as overstaffed as most other places. Try the crispy vegetables with pepper and salt as starters and the coriander veg pot noodles for dinner. Both were excellent.

Lourdes Heaven Shop No 2, Pali Junction, Bandra (W), Mumbai

amazing frankies

This place is one of those snack shop legends. Mostly a younger crowd, but definitely bearable for the amazing frankies here. All other snacks, including burgers (no, not the beef ones) are excellent as well. There is a fairly decent parsi menu, but that is not what I go here for. Not that I mind the college crowd, but this place is better with some fun company or for takeout - going here for a one-on-one is not advisable.

roadside stall heaven

Probably the best place I've had pav bhaji and egg bhurjee in Mumbai, bar none. This is the place legends are made of, so if you are around the Juhu area and are looking for the true roadside Mumbai experience, this is the place to go.

rocks for happy hour

Perhaps my fave place for drinks during happy hour - pulls in a good working crowd, and generally has a nice comfortable atmosphere. Downstairs section is more the restaurant, usually packed, with a high percentage of foreigners. Upstairs is where the drinking action takes place, so head upstairs for that cold beer or martini.
