please RENOVATE
Only a blind can rate 8 or even 7 to Hot Plate. I am going to this place since i was a kid. Believe me they have NOT renovated this place from past 15 years. The place looks like it will fall apart. Sooooo untidy. The plates are so small.
Now the good part is the food is great, the price is great too. HotPlate has the best sambar i have ever eaten, and its kinda unlimited. It was the most happening place till the late 90s. Now i go there to feel nostalgic. but ya....i do recomend hot plate

stupidly expensive
Its not uptown, not swanky, its a small eating joint. I dont understand why its insanely expensive. The food tastes good but not worth the cost. It is frequently visited by cellulitis rich gujjubhais(pot bellies) n gals. The place has nice gujju chiks around, i should say nice gujju aunties. n one last thing....ur gaarnishing would be sooo overdone that it will look like garbage.
