Good

Super!

I was kinda apprehensive to go to Rasam for lunch. I’d never heard of Kongunadu cuisine & I wasn’t too fond of vegetarian food but lunch here was soo good that I’m planning to be a regular here.

I had a special thali which had many dishes…I don’t really know what they were but everything tasted really good! I tasted the coconut payasam which tasted amazing & also the coconut halwa which was great too.

It’s a must-try!

Sad-o Italiano

A nice, laid back restaurant with gr8 ambience. I went there for lunch. I liked the look of the place..an ideal place to hang out with ur frnds & chat for hours. If the weatherz right, u cud dine outdoors too. Coming to the food, I was really disappointed. There were six of us for lunch. We ordered for:

Strawberry soda pop (really good)
Lemon soda pop (tastes like lemon soda..nothin special)
Mickey mouse (basically cola with ice cream..worth a try)
Punch with rum (I couldn’t taste the rum! It tasted jus like Tropicana mixed fruit juice)
Potato wedges & French fries (I like d ones at mc donalds better)

We had a couple of spaghetti dishes, penne in white sauce, bismark pizza & Milanese pizza for the main course. Spaghetti was edible but I’ve had better spaghetti at many other places. Penne in white sauce was good. Bismark pizza looked yummy & I really wanted to taste it but it had beef  The Milanese pizza was inedible! It had spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes & onions as the toppings. It looked pretty nice but it tasted simply horrible. The chef must have tried really hard to make such a horrible pizza! I mean..its kinda impossible to make a pizza tht tastes so bad but hey, Casa Picola has done it!!

We had the hot chocolate sundae for dessert which basically is a scoop of vanilla ice cream & chocolate ice cream each, a tiny brownie & a generous serving of chocolate sauce. It looked beautiful & tasted delicious! I’m def’lly goin there again to have this :-)

So yeah, this place is kinda over rated. Its nice for beverages & desserts but if u r expecting an authentic Italian meal, go else where.

Good

Surprisingly Indian

Clay-oven claims to serve contemporary Indian cuisine & just the look of the restaurant frm outside made me like it.

I liked the décor & ambience. The music played was nice too. What annoyed me a little was the servers’ ignorance. They didn’t know anything abt any dish in the menu. They couldn’t even pronounce the names of the dishes properly. They were unable to even take down our order correctly. But the food was really good. The garlic nan here is delicious. Lahori aloo tastes different, worth a try & the kadai jhinga was mind blowin…the gravy was full of flavour & the prawns were succulent..I loved it! The gajar halwa here is the best! It doesn’t have khoya/mawa like gajar halwa usually has but its still rich & delicious. But yeah, it’s a no-no for the health conscious ppl.

So yeah, I like the place & I liked the food. But it isn’t exactly a great idea to hire Nepali servers in an Indian restaurant!

Ho-Hum

I went to Banyan Tree for the first time this noon with my friend for lunch. I loved the ambience & the decor- very laid back, casual atmosphere.

We had:

Spaghetti in creamy sundried tomato sauce
Herbed grilled chicken in cheesy mushroom sauce
Garlic bread
Apple crumble pastry

Damage done: Rs 624 (for 2 people)

The food was delicious. Everything tasted excellent & the portions were sufficient too. Prices..well..they are affordable for the food you get.

What I was disappointed with was the service. Even though there were 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant, we were stll made to wait for a long time for the food. After paying the bill, we had to wait for 10 mins to get the balance back...& that too after reminding them once! Service is very very slow indeed. I would have given this place 4 stars...but the poor service forces me to rate it as an average place..

Good

Really really good

I love Gelato Italiano..I have tried quite a few flavours here & I've liked most of em.

I've tried:

Craciatella- really really good
Blue sky- too sweet but worth a try
Bubble gum- Avoid it! It tastes exactly like bubble gum
Fer Rocher- Sinful
Dark chocolate- Too good
Strawberry something- nice but nothin extraordinary
Lemon sorbet- One of my favs!

U should try Gelato atleast once..there are many flavours to choose from but yes, I still prefer Naturals over Gelato but thats jus my choice :-)
