I am a regular at thali restaurants and I went to Golden Star after reading its burrp reviews. I must say I found the food quality better than the Samrats and Rajdhani. Every single food item was prepared in a very taste enhancing manner and all the servings were unlimited. Damage for a festival thali 280 per head but totally worth it.
PVR has only one counter line for customers who have booked their tickets online. The queue for this counter is double of that of other normal counters. Whatever time/ effort you save by booking tickets online is wasted in the queue. I will say stupid system/ stupid theater.
I agree with other reviewers on the great decor and good quality drinks. I found the food to be average and the portions were just adequate. What really bugged me was the slow service of this place. I went on a Saturday night and the place was almost full. A somewhat slow service was expected but I did not bargain for the half an hour it took to get the first food order. A visit to Prithvi reminds me of my college auditorium. The main auditorium has been designed to give an intimate feeling with actors performing a number of scenes while standing literally in the midst of audience.
Prithvi plays are ofcourse stuff of legend and require no introduction. I would also like to point out the fact that Prithvi management is also organising innovative shows like Science demostrations (Chai and why) at Prithvi.
In summary, this is a place still run by people who have passion for theatre and no wonders remains one of the best auditoriums in India.

Big Cinemas seems to have spent quite some money in revamping this place, but they forgot that a good theatre is not just about the decor. I will start with pricing, being in town the theatre prices are 20-30% higher than prices say in suburbs. One positive thing is that they show offbeat movies which are rarely screened elsewhere. But in some cases, poor management spoils the screening. Once while watching 13 Tzameti, the first ten minutes of the french movie went without subtitles. Recently while watching 3:10 to Yuma construction noise started coming form the roof (something you will not expect... read more
