Excellent
Great food, utterly reasonable prices - the meals happily taste more American-Italian than Indian-Italian, e.g., less sweet.
Really nice understated ambience, nice lighting. Not a fluorescent bulb to be seen.
The downside? I'm not sure how I've survived three meals here and am STILL waiting for their alcohol permit to clear so I can have a glass of wine with my meal.
Overall - nice addition to the Pali Naka neighborhood.

Good
We sat in the lounge area so I can't comment on the private rooms, but the (three) couches and tables in the lounge are comfortable and sleek. The whole place has a very clean, modern, (and expensive) feel. The lounge feels a little bit like the waiting room for the interior seating, positioned as it is by the front door opposite the bar, but no complaining here - we got a table with no advance reservation.
On the plus side, the fish we had was of good quality, and there is a full menu of sushi and sashimi - unlike Seijo, for example. Prices are still on the high side, but not as ridiculous as Wasabi -- plus fewer tour groups. While we just had sushi, the rest of the menu has a great selection of other Japanese food.
On the minus side, we ordered the sashimi moriawase platter, which is supposed to feature a selection of different kinds of fish. When it arrived, all it had was tuna and salmon. Halibut? Yellowtail? Shrimp? Oh, we're out of those. Did you want to mention that BEFORE we ordered???
On the random side, one of the walls in the front is an enormous wine cellar. Why such a focus on wine at a Japanese restaurant? Wine and sushi is an odd combo. I guess wine is taking off in upscale Mumbai regardless of context. Although we didn't have drinks, Tetsuma is supposed to have a great selection of sake as well though, which is a bit more on message.
Despite the great ambience, Tetsuma's lounge area suffers from the same problem that afflicts virtually every restaurant in Bombay, even (especially) those who should know better -- the lighting is just A BIT TOO BRIGHT. Turn it down! We're not in a business meeting. I don't need to read a book. Dim and dark is romantic. That's why we have these candles on the table. So turn off the overhead flood lights and let the mood lighting do its job.
Really, it's hard to go too far lowering the lighting. Almost across the board, every restaurant I go to in Bombay could dial down the lights. The only exception I can think of is Aurus, where the deck is so dark the waiters stand at your table pointing a flashlight at your menu through the blackness. But that's another review.

Excellent
Sante is a great Bandra resource for all kinds of imported cheeses, cold cuts, and other foods -- tortilla chips and salsa, coffee, crackers, etc. If you're craving something, they probably have it -- but you will definitely pay for it. Let's just say Sante is not cheap.
Still, a great place and the only game in town for some items. Plus...don't tell anyone, but they have fresh sushi on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 11am.

Excellent
Half the battle is finding this place to begin with -- navigating from Pali Market can be tricky with the one-way streets -- once you're there though, you're set.
Great selection of veg and non-veg bagel sandwiches. You can just get cream cheese and a bagel, there's a pretty good chicken salad, and they have lox too. Having lox, cream cheese, and a bagel in Bombay outside of a 5-star hotel -- now that's rare!
The bagels are a little sweet for my taste, but so is the bread in most Mumbai bakeries. And the furniture inside is made for midgets. But the vibe is relaxed and its a nice place to chill for the afternoon. It's owned by the same people as Zenzi, and they seem like they know what they're doing.

Excellent
Excellent choice for a quick lunch (takeaway or standing room only). I could eat their grilled veg sandwich every day. It's definitely greasy, but greasy in a good way...
