Awful
Finding a decent place to eat on a Sunday night has become a task these days. All I would expect is decent food, kind staff, and a setting one could breathe in. While I have experienced a lot of disappointments, this takes the top spot - Spice & Flavours @ Walkeshwar.
We managed to get a table for 8 on the open air section of this restaurant situated right at the corner/end of chowpatty. Due to the monsoon, the area was covered up and it was quite hot with a lot of hukkas around. When requested, the manager couldn’t turn the fan on, as there seem to be one common switch for all fans and a manjority of the tables had hukkas on and didn’t prefer the fan! Craziest thing I had heard.
Moving on, I ordered for a tomato soup - 1 by 2. The waiter brings along 2 bowls which were less than 1/4th full to which he replied that this is their standard quantity. I believed him and moved on. A few mins later, the waiter brings along another 1 by 2 soup for a friend of mine which had almost double the quantity! And when asked he quickly rushes into the kitchen and gets me a 'complimentary' soup as he realized it was their mistake and to add the waiter was laughing away when he should have been apologetic. The garlic bread served was awful. I was quite put off but still ordered the main course - black dal and roomali roti. The roomali roti was excellent but the black dal was horrible. Very bland and was one the worst I had eaten. To end it all, the waiter was arguing with another table on them ordering a drink which was canceled upon. Highly untrained and unmanaged staff.
Needless to say, I would never visit this place again and would rate the staff + service to be the poorest.

I was very surprised to find this lounge located in worli 'empty' on a sat night. A very large and well decored place merely had couple of dozen people even past mid night. The ambiance is plush with nice seating area. Its got 2 decks - the upper deck for vip/private lounging. Food/drinks arent too expensive. About 300 for a glass of dom wine & the same for veg appetizers. The food is strictly ok though.
What disappointed me the most about this place was its music. Even an amateur out of college DJ could have done a better job at carrying the momentum. Not only was the music awful but the DJ was unbelievably irresponsive. We were a group of 20 people (believe me, the largest size of people at this place on a sat night!)and the DJ would still not care about playing a tune for us. Mainly trance and house music - poorly played though. It was pack up time at 1:45 and I couldn’t conclude if it’s the music that has discouraged people to come to this place or if its just too new for people to know about the joint.

Good
I was quite impressed with the quantity and the quality of the food at this restaurant blocks away from regal cinema. The ambiance is very different from the other chinese restaurants, its gives an absoulte oriental feel. The service was super fast (i was dubious about the servings though when they got the order less than a min from when i ordered).
The machow soup we ordered was excellent. Right in spice and thickness. The appetizer - three pepper veg was ok, a little greasy though but was quite delicious.
Hakka noodles were very good, right amount of veggies, think and well done. The entree - Buddha's delight was good too however the sauce could have been thicker. Staff - very friendly and very prompt.
Damage for 2 without drinks - INR 900

Poor
Visited this restaurant on a sat night located in ITC at grand central. Firstly, the ambiance and the decor of the hotel is not even a close bit of the one at Andheri east. The Hornby's Pavillion is the equivalent of the Peshwa Pavillion at the Andheri one. Much like the latter, we went to try out the dinner buffet at Hornby's.
The range and variety was ok. What didnt impress me was the taste and the conveinence of dish placements. The Indian veggies like Paneer Korma, Mutter Veg was below par. The appetizer of corn patis was the worst i have ever had, was cold and tasted stale. The biryani was awful and I found the yogurt in the dahi wada a little sour. The saving grace was yet again the benchmark dal bhukara. Along with that, i did enjoy the tomato noodles. The deserts were very basic and nothing to take the word on it.
All in all, the food, ambiance, taste was quite mediocore. I would have happily accepted this at a 2 -3 star hotel or at a mom & pop indian joint, but def not at ITC nad def def not when you are paying 1150/- pp for a buffet.

I visited this place on a saturday night. I initially intended to eat at Peshawari but I was glad to walk out of that place when i saw how the seating arrangement was. For a pricey restaurant in an upscale hotel to have such a cramped up ambiance was a put off. Although the decor was complying to the theme of the restaurant, the flat stools to sit on for dinner was too uncomfortable, so...we moved to Peshwa Pavilion which is right outside Peshawari and gives you a majestic feeling.
Its an ideal place to sit around for hours and enjoy its buffet (or ala carte as an option). There is ample seating available and the best part is that the tables arent setup too close to each other. I would rate the ambiance here to be 6/5!
Moving on to the food, from pastas to dahi chaat to tons of salads the buffet does offer the expected variety. The appetizers were ok to begin with. The main course which included a few italian dishes was mediocre and the 2 indian veggies were below par. What saved the grace was the paneer makhanwala and the black dal which was top notch. The hot bread served on the table was excellent. Plenty of deserts to choose from and all of them worth a try.
Service and staff - very friendly and helpful. All in all, the food was quite decent, could be better though.
Priced at 1150 pp all incl, the pricing is almost about the same as other buffets such as the mariott, lands end, etc.
I have the ITC membership to recieve a 50% off the food bill so I would be a frequent visitor for sure.
