I went here for a drink - I didnt eat the food so cannot really comment on it. The place is very tastefully decorated and comfortable - they have taken an old bungalow and remodelled it. The only problem with this place - which is a problem with a lot of places in Bangalore - is that it is very expensive - its ridiculous to pay Rs. 350 for a cocktail - although it was quite a good cocktail.
I liked the place as they were quite relaxed and didnt mind that we didnt eat anything there. In fact they were generous enough to give us some bread. I'll probably go here again - especially if someone else is picking up the tab....

Poor
I have been to Busaba twice - the first time I really liked it, so recently when I was in Mumbai I decided take some friends there. I had the Khaushwe - which is a Burmese stew and that was pretty good. A friend had the Fillet Mignon -which is where the problem lay. It wasn't beef - it was lamb.
What upset us was that the maitre'd tried to claim that we were wrong and it was a fillet of beef. Well, then it must have been some muscular and tangy cow ! I was clearly lamb and not very good lamb at that. Finally he agreed to take it off the bill and suggested a dessert - a chocolate fondant - which gave us the impression that that would be complementary as a conciliatory gesture.
Well, it was excellent - but wasn't complementary. And very expensive. I can't think of too many places in the world where a dessert costs Rs. 337.50 - almost 10$. Its ridiculous !
Anyway, the worst part of all of this is that it ruined the mood of what was a rather pleasant evening out. So while the Khaushwe was pretty good, I can only recommend this place with some reservation. Apart from this - the service was incredibly slow - and given that when we entered there wasn't anyone else around, this was surprising.
I think this is indicative of a larger problem in India. With the Indian economy booming in the luxury or high end sector prices have skyrocketed. However, quality remains poor. Its just that a large section of the clientele are willing to pay money just for appearance - to show that they can. And this causes the suppliers to try to get away with poor service - and they often do.

Good
This is the restaurant outlet of Asha sweets. So the samosas and chaat are very good - as long as you insist that the chaat guy doesnt put grated coconut and grated carrot on everything - as people in this part of the country are wont to do.
Apart from the chaat there is also a `multicusine' restaurant which, as is usually the case with all these multicusine places - is unremarkable. The decor is nice though.
All in all its quite a nice place.

Excellent
This place is well worth a visit. A little difficult to find but really worth looking for. Simple and tasty. And unlike many of the Italian restos in this city or country - its not overpriced and the quantities are more than adequate.

This is way out of the way in a farm in Whitefield - took me 1.5 hours to get there on a Saturday afternoon. The place is very nice - ducks, trees and all that - and its in an old farmhouse. But....the food is pretty mediocre. I think this is a problem with places which specialize in everything. Instead of having a dedicated chef who specializes in a particular cuisine the cooks here make everything - Indian and continental and what not - and the result is that nothing is worth writing home about - or driving for 1.5 hours for.
