Hotel Ramee Guestline, 452 A B Nair Road, Juhu, Mumbai

Rated: Average

I'm not qualified to rate this place

I've only been in here one time, for five minutes, before 10 pm. That means, I don't really know anything about this place except, it looks HUGE, and I don't know why people always tell me it's not that big. I think it's big.

Also, kudos to the dude that said you can't dance in a lounge. Lounges in Bombay seem to be miscategorized. Seems like you should be LOUNGING in a lounge.

If i get to Rock Bottom again, I will try to stay longer, then come back and revise my review.

I don't want them to feel bad about it, but...

But, it's just run-of-the-mill sushi. I mean, it wasn't bad - don't get me wrong. It was good. The saba (mackeral - which is my favorite) was actually surprisingly tasty!

I think what I' saying is, it's not worth the exorbitant price. I've had much better sushi in california for half the price. Of course, you have to pay $1500 to get to California...so, what's an $80 bottle of sake? Well it's kind of a lot since they're just small bottles of sake.

Something else that struck me as odd was how tiny the fish were in the sushi case!

Anyway, like I said, it was okay but it was super expensive, I think we spent $400 for a small dinner for two.

Royal Plaza, New Link Road, Next to Citi Mall, Near Fame Adlabs, Andheri (W), Mumbai

Rated: Good

Cute place with a tasty menu

As a non-veg, I appreciate a nice big menu of meat and chicken. So, this place gets big marks for that.

And also the ambience is fun, the crowd is generally mid sized (I haven't been there on a weekend yet). We usually end up spending a few hours there, drinking, snacking and smoking. Which is basically my 2nd favorite hobby, following "sleeping in front of the television".

I have never had problems with the waiters or service, but again, maybe you need to go during the weekend to have service problems.

Yum, I want to go there right now and eat some chicken-ey goodness.

Jewel Shopping Centre, JVPD Scheme, Versova, 7 Bunglows, Andheri (W), Mumbai

Rated: Good

It feels good to be here (except the mosquitoes)

My review might be biased because the weather has been so pleasant and we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal under the stars in the outdoor patio on a not-very-busy night last week.

Obviously I really liked the ambience. The waitstaff was quick, capable and polite. The menus were kind of shabby but the food selection was huge. I had a really nice jerk chicken appetizer. The bowtie (I think they called it "Butterfly") pasta was okay but too spicy, and not Italian-ey tasting enough for me. Does't mean I didn't finish the whole thing! :o)

The pizza we got had slices of all their pizza offerings. Nice, thin crispy crust.

It's a pricey dinner if you're a healthy drinker, like me and my crowd.

206, Crystal, Waterfield Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Rated: Poor

Nice try but no cigar

They seemed to have done most things right - beautiful decor, the menu has the right apprach, the ambience is great, the location even great. But guess what? IT. DOES. NOT. WORK.

I want to like this place, and I will definitely come back to give it another shot.

But let me make a short list of areas of opportunity for them:
1. Not enough light to read the menu.
2. Dangerous walkways, side lighting that actually HIDES steps from your view.
3. Bad Menu layout for the Drink Menu. You can't tell the difference between the drink NAME and ingredients.
4. It took about 25 minutes for appetizers.
5. Poor service all around
6. Closes early on weekends????
7. Turned off lights when the restaurant was closed, even though customers were still there?

The waiter informed us that the kitchen would be closing in 15 minutes as soon as we arrived. That's fine - a bit disappointing, but fine. We decided to look at the menu and hurry up to order. Unfortunately, the waiter spent the entire 15 minutes hovering over us and asking multiple times if we were ready to order. Gimme a break dude, there is no light and I can't even read the menu.

We ordered our food and he ran away. Finally, about 10 minutes later, we found him again so that we could place a DRINK ORDER!

The food took forever to come out. Here's the long and short of it:

- Mixed Grill kabob appetizer: Shitty. Don't bother.
- Non Veg Caesar Salad: delicious and welcome, as a good salad is (unfortunately) a rare find in Bombay.
- Chicken & Celery gyoza: steamed not fried. Standard, nothign special.
- Lamb Pasta: delicious.
