Plot No. 339, 16th Road, Nr. Linking Road, Linking Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Excellent

Only wish they had a dance floor...

Had wanted to visit since a long time since people strongly recommended. It was totally different frm what I expected. What can I say. I just loved this place. Best place I have been to in a while.

Basically it has three floor but the ground is the most rocking. The first & second have decent music but are kind of empty more like resto bar so went preferred the ground floor.

Music: What can I say. It has the most amazing music that totally makes your feet move.

Crowd: is good and the place is totally packed with no space at all. If you want a decent place to sit or stand for that matter its better to reach a bit early because it gets quite packed.

Service: Well considering the place was soo packed I cant blame them but the waiter just disappeared after our second order and never came back.

Drinks: Very fine though possibly the smallest glasses Ive ever seen.

Its highly recommended and a must go for the music. Only wish they either had a dance floor.

Shop No. 18, Meera CHS, Oshiwara Link Road, Oshiwara, Andheri (W), Mumbai

Poor

Why the fuss ??

Finally there is a Mexican restaurant I thought and went to visit. We went on a Sat night at about 11:30 - 12. The place was pretty empty that time.

Ambience: They have 2 sections downstairs and upstairs. There is a movie screen where they play movies (guess they are Spanish). While it is a very novel idea I don't know how many people like to eat watching blood and gore on the screen. I didn't. The music was good though, peppy.

Drinks: They dont serve alcohol yet so we skipped drinks.

Food: They serve both Mexican and Continental. One side has the Mexican menu and the other Continental. Kinda cute. But somehow it has the same old options and nothing really sounded very interesting.

We decided to eat light so ordered a feta cheese Brushetta, a salad and potato wedges (can't recall what the dish was called). I mean how wrong can one go with Bruschetta right ? Wrong. It was possibly the worst Ive had. Bread with a layer of some brown looking stuff (looked very unappetizing) and feta cheese (which was the only saving grace). The salad was vegetables with an overdose of olive oil. The sundried tomatoes were really hard. Never seen them that bad.

Service: Service is great. The staff is very courteous and helpful

Overall one can totally skip it. Might go there once more to try the real mexican stuff and see if it is worth the hype or not.

Amazing Music (4/5)...Atrocious Crowd (1/5)

Music:Music was amongst the best compared to most of the places recently. There wasn't a single moment when you'd want to rest since the music just kept you going. They played a mix of all genres.

Crowd:The crowd at this place is awful. Probably the worst than anywhere else.It seems that they allow groups of stags also. There were these group of cheap men just standing and blatantly ogling at all the women. Maybe if they were to disallow stages it would make a huge difference.

Timing: Reached here by about 12 when it was pretty much empty. The place started filling up after 130 2 and is usually on beyond 3.

Ambience: The ambience is good. They have these small private areas. There are also sofas and stuff outside for those who want to rest a bit or get away from the music. The size of the dance floor is also good.

Price: Rs 2000 per couple which would be good for about 2 drinks...Is it just me or have the prices for a drink suddenly just doubled

Verdict: On the whole the place a huge potential if only they were to do something about the crowd.

Leela Kempinski Hotel, Sahar Airport, Sahar, Andheri (E), Mumbai

Poor

Still a long way to go...

Went to Bling after hearing a lot of good things about it...I must say I was kind of disappointed..

Timings: Its open till 430 -5 on Sat atleast which is a huge plus point since you don't ending up reaching before 12

Music: Heard they would start better music after 1am but 1 am went and came and they only played a few good numbers...And from the looks of it I was not da only one not enjoyin it...Most people were just standing around and didn't look like they were really enjoying themselves...This is the biggest reason I would not recommend the place to anyone...

Drinks: I have not seen such expensive drinks anywhere..Two drinks easily set you back anywhere from Rs 1600 - 2500 which is a bit ridiculuos...A bacardi large with coke was Rs 800 and a pint of beer about Rs 350

Service: There are bouncers all over the place...You wanted to sit down (considering how sad the music was we thought to sit for a bit than just stand around) but were informed that you need to spend Rs30,000 if you want to sit. They have some private cubicles and I can understand if its for that but this was for just the sofas near the dance floor

Crowd & Ambience: Was good. Dance floor is bit so while there are a lot of people you still have space to dance

Entry: Rs 2000 per couple and they are kinda strict about couples only

Only reason I would go back is that it is open til late since you don't have too many options...Now if they were to do somthing about the music then this place would definately be at the top of my list..

Great ambience and service but food disappoints

Decided to go to Orchid seeing all the good reviews. Went early so got a place quite easily despite being a Sunday. The place is nicely done and has a great ambience. Got on to a good start and was really looking forward to the food.

Decided to fo for Italian and ordered a tomato soup flavoured with basil, bruschetta and a custom made pasta in red sauce with toppings.

The soup was served with two slices of garlic bread. It was not bad but I expected something more reading the description. It was like your usual tomato soup. The bruschetta was more like garlic bread with cheese and a tomato base.Overall the food was not bad but not something I was expecting from an Italian restaurant. The saving grace was the pasta. The sauce was really good. That was totally worth it.

Service: Very good, the waiters know what they are doing and do it well. He also mentioned that canelloni or ravioli was not their forte and recommended another dish. Was extremely impressed by the level of professionalism. Also came to check if the food was ok.

Overall not a bad experience but nothing extraordinary that I would want to repeat.
