Excellent
Being a huge Indigo Deli fan, I was very excited that it had opened up in Andheri too. It is a big deal for this oh so South Mumbai institution to make the trudge to the burbs. And I can only say thank you!
The food is pretty similar (same?) to Indigo Deli so it goes without saying how excellent it is. I tried the Eggs Florentine for the first time and found them light and full of flavour. The side of mushrooms had a yummy herbed taste that had literally been absorbed by them. My friends were raving about the ham & cheese quiche while I dug into a very fresh and crisp asparagus, arugula and artichole salad. We all tried the Green Apple twist, a breezy drink made with green apple vodka (I dont recollect this being at Indigo Deli so it might be new). I was disappointed at them being out of my all time fave Dulce de leche ice cream but the Tiramisu and Chcocolate souffle (piping hot and bursting with liquid chocolate) more than made up.
All in all I would say the food experience equalled that of Indigo Deli. However I didn't think the decor quite matched up. The ceilings were a bit low compared to its high ceilinged South Bby cousin, and I can't quite put my finger on why the vibe was somehow more restaurant then uber-casual cafe. But I guess if I stop making the inevitable comparisons, this is amongst the most welcome additions to the Andheri cityscape!

Good
I’ve been to Mia Cucina twice now, once for coffee and once for dinner. Both times the first thing that struck me was the cosy feel that the place had, as if I had chanced upon a neighbourhood gem. They have outdoor and indoor seating and while the outdoor area is great for smokers, I really liked the booths that they had indoors.
The menu is simple but interesting. The wine list however is limited to the Chantilli and Tiger Hill brands while the more popular (?) Sula wine was not available, let alone any imported wines. But honestly, this place is more about the food than the wine (although many will argue the synergies of the two!). We started with the Bocconcini salad with rocket leaves and cherry tomatoes. The fresh, crisp arugula leaves were delish, but the bocconcini itself was a little disappointing, more slabs than balls and not as fresh tasting as it could be. A spinach and goat cheese risotto followed which was light and tasty, and my friend said the home made tagliatelle was also very good. Dessert was a story in itself….and one with a very happy ending! We shared the aptly named decadence chocolate cake. What can I say…wow!! Rich, luxurious, melt in the mouth chocolate, truly a feast for the senses and a must must try. I had tried the cheesecake the previous time which was also very good so I think I can confidently say this place seems to know its dessert.
The staff was courteous and the service was fine. Though I guess a busy Sat night might be a better judge of that than a slower Wed night.
All in all this is a quite a sweet little place that I’d be happy to try again!

Excellent
While my knowledge of french is admittedly limited, I'd like to believe I am something of a dessert connoisseur. So when I heard about the relatively new "Ecstacy" I had to try it out.
Having grown up in Chennai (when it was still Madras!), I must point out that desserts were never this city's best offerring (not counting the excellent Grand Sweets Badam Halwa ofcourse!). Yes we had the ever popular Snowfield (now a dessert "PUB" I hear? No comment!) and the ice cream sundaes at AVM Dasa and Eden were considered quite the delicacy, but somehow dessert as I knew it (atleast when I lived here) barely looked beyond Ice Cream or cake/pastry.
So to be hit with something like Ecstacy is....well...ecstacy! While its location leaves much to be desired (why why would you choose a place inside the so crowded sathyam cinema complex?), you completely forget location once you enter. Hip, minimalist decor, uber elegant warm napkins offerred as soon as you sit down and a fairly exotic menu all create the necessary ambience for what you are about to experience.
The menu is not very extensive, but each dessert is beautifully presented and even the more common offerrings like Creme Brulee and Tiramisu are superb. For chocolate lovers the Tout Chocalat is honestly to die for, as is the Blueberry cheesecake. The strawberries in mulled wine served with olive ice cream is definitely among the more innovative items on offer but I found it a tad dissapointing. There are a host of other desserts but there is sadly enough only so much one can consume at one go!
Prices are roughly between Rs150 - 250 a dessert, with portions being fairly small but so rich that it feels large enough.Ecstacy also sells chocolates (at 2800 rupees a kilo) which I am yet to try.
Service is decent though we did have an all too earnest waiter who felt the need to translate espresso as "its a very strong coffee ma'am". I guess he was doing his job but my self esteem took a beating - did I look like someone who was ordering espresso/cappucino with no idea as to what it was!HMPH...heard of profiling my friend?! :)
So to cut what I realize has become a loooong story short (sorry people!), Ecstacy is highly highly recommended. A bit pricey but well well worth every amazing bite. Tres Tres Bien!

Good
I think what this place truly has going for it is ambience, after all Fab India is housed in a lovely building so the choice of location is excellent.
The menu is something you start knowing by heart if you're a regular visitor to the Crossword in kemps corner, so the novelty value does wear off. But atleast you're guaranteed a good cup of cappucino and some pretty good desserts and sandwiches.I often buy the multi-grain bread from here and on occasion have bought the tapenade (mushroom I think) both of which are very good.
The service is admittedly sucky and there was one time where atleast 5 different things we'd asked for were not available (which was quite annoying), but somehow even that hasn't put me off from going back here ever so often (something about the waiter on the day made me feel almost bad for the guy - don't ask why!)
If you're in the area I would definitely recommend going here for a chilled out, lazy cup of coffee and maybe some conversation!

Excellent
I've been to Golden Star Thali so many times I've lost track...and I have to say I've never been disappointed. Being quite partial to any type of gujju/rajasthani thali, I've tried a number of thali places in Bby and honestly many of them have left me disappointed. Not Golden Star Thali. The people that run it have mastered something I wish more upscale restaurants in Bby would - consistent quality everytime keeps the customers coming back.
The food is very rich, yes, but uber tasty. And the service is excellent (as defined by true "Indian" hospitality... force your guests to eat so much they might get sick!). The ambience is nothing to write home about, but since an average meal lasts all of 30 mins, 25 of which are spent staring at your plate and breathing food in, I don't think it really matters!
The only downside with this place is that a meal there makes you feel so full, you always tend to swear to god you will never go back! But trust me, you will....
