Powai has no dearth of restaurants, but none that served fresh, unpretentious continental fare...until now! Lenny Martin (we hear he's been involved with the management of several nightspots in the past) and his partner have set up this gem in the foodcourt area. The menu is small but well thought out. Keeping in mind the limitations of foodcourt service, all the dishes are prepared such that they can be had with just a fork (yes, even the steaks). So don't expect a formal meal with table setting, et al. The chicken steak with spinach cheese sauce was fantastic. We had the grilled chicken...

The very positive reviews on burrp made us venture there for dinner last Sat...and we were not disappointed! The kheema baida roti was tasty, albeit very oily. The dabba gosht was simply outstanding and went well with chapatis. The chicken tikka biryani was right up there with the best I've ever had. We first opted for the reshmi tikka biryani (burrpers' recommendation) but the waiter said it would be "too sweet" and suggested the chicken tikka variant. After the fab main course, caramel custard was the apt way to end the meal.
We've been Rajasthan (Khar SV Road) faithfuls for a...

Irish Pub

First of all, I was surprised that this place wasn't already reviewed on burrp. This chilled out pub with great music has been one of our regular haunts for a few years now. Wanna catch up with friends on a Sat night and down some beers without burning a hole in your most rugged denims? Add to that the reality that most decent joints are crammed to the brim on weekends. Thats where Irish pub steps in like the gallant saviour. Its a great place to hang out, but inexplicably, its rarely ever too crowded to get a table. Not that I'm complaining...! We dropped in last Sat, and believe you me,...

Barbeque Nation

And this typifies the unique concept at this restaurant - finish your kababs the way you like them, at your own pace. The grill placed at each table has been described enough by my fellow burrpers so I won't go there. What I will vouch for is that if you are a die-hard carnivore and can't get enough of meat on a stick, then you can't find a better place than this.
The equation's simple - 500 bucks and an empty stomach is all you need to bring along. No menu choices, specials of the day, or any other frills to distract you. The meat keeps coming...it just keeps coming till you scream...

Bhagat Tarachand

On my wife's superlative feedback, I was tempted enough to brave the chaos of Zaveri Bazaar to come here. Several stops for directions later, we were in Bhagat Tarachand bang in the middle of lunch service. Be prepared to wait for a table - ours lasted about 20 mins. The food here, to put it mildly, is divine! The waiter advised us not to order the thali since the inclusions are fairly standard and instead to order a variety off the menu. We feasted on tomato sev, double tadka dal (superb!), bhindi gobi fry and handkerchief thin chapatis. And oh yes, the crushed papads Chaas is served in...
