When you go to a slightly upscale place that serves thali, there are a couple of things you expect as a standard – good service and friendly servers who coax to have just one more helping. If you are headed to Panchvati Gaurav though, then better cast these expectations aside, because they will be throttled heartlessly.
Around 10 of us made a reservation on a Sunday afternoon and a few of us reached there before the others. The steward then very rudely admonished us that all the people from our party were not present! He told us that he could have easily seated others in the 3 places... read more -

Having been a regular at Pop Tates, which was later renamed as Jughead's, in Malad, there are some things which you presume to be the same in the newly-opened Pop Tates. Well, change is the only constant in life and the new Pop Tates is a good example of that.
One good thing about this place is that it is pretty big and has 50 tables, each of which can seat at least 4 people. So, thankfully it is not cramped.
The waiters are over-attentive, but that could be because we were among the three odd patrons in the restaurant. I do hope over time they continue with their courteous... read more -

My kids and I love seafood, especially when it is cooked in Mangalorean style. And after a lot of false starts in many places which claim to serve Mangalorean fare, I've finally found one place which lives up to its claim.
Now we are such regulars here that we do not even look at the menu anymore to decide what to order.
Some of the dishes I highly recommend are the Surmai fry in Mangalorean style, prawn gassi with neer dosa, clams in sukka masala and bombil fry. The prawn gassi especially is the best I have had outside of Mangalore.

It is nice to once come across a restaurant that not just meets your expectations, but surpasses it. After getting good first-person reviews about Grillopolis from various friends, I decided to check out if it was really that good.
And I am happy to report that i have joined the league of people who like it and will make it a regular haunt.

The ambience is perfect, the service is attentive and the food is tasty with good helpings. This is what I can quickly encapsulate about Corleone.
The restaurant has an extensive wine list of which I chose the Sula Brut wine, which was nice, fruity and fizzy.
The shrimp bisque was a letdown and tasted more like tomato soup. However the accompanying shrimp wafers were nice and crunchy.
The Norwegian pink salmon on a bed of lettuce was succulent and well cooked. We even had a grilled chicken pot pie pizza, which was ok.

My apologies for responding to your review a little late. I am delighted that you found us worthy of being made a regular haunt. The a la carte menu, which was rather limited, has undergone a major makeover and from the coming monday shall be as inviting and comely as you would expect it to. We have taken a while to put it together, but we wanted to get it right and a lot of feedbacks and application has gone into making it what it would now be.
